Noticed two things: a) a good number of male dancers; excellent! b) a photography of Rudolf Nureyev; times have changed, he went to the Soviet Union in 1989 (because of perestroika) and always respected his origins; thus, that photo, in my opinion.

up until 1:17 the video seems to be very old, vintage and rustic, and seemed to be filmed with vintage videocamera technology (not modern ones).....I reckon they are recorded at much earlier times...?

well...i think it's normal if ballerinas are so skinny. their toes has to hold the whole weight of the body so that's why is important to be so (damn) thin.

@IrrelevantXX Russia has a HUGE pool of potential dancers to choose from and they select only girls who are naturally VERY slender - the workload keeps weigth off too! Don't worry about them - there are many prof. ballerinas world-wide who are not stick insects, so keep healthy and dancing! Audiences are getting tired of dancing skeletons - not very feminine! And remember It's technique for pointe-work, not weight

@Stawiarz1234 It requires total turnout, (rotating the leg fully in the hip-socket) which Mother Nature gives ppl or not! It cannot be acquired by practise, but can be acquired by surgery! These pupils are selected for their god-given physiques - and then they work like the devil for years (unlike a film star, if you know what I mean) with no promise of a position in a top company! Great montage.
