Aynsley is an awsome guitarist, I saw him a good few years back at the Ferry in Glasgow, he was support act for Walter Trout and I'm backing up DLFimages comment, "All of you negative posters are jealous dickheads who should, well, just 'fuck right off'.
wish blusjamtracks would put more and longer tunes cause everylast one of them can wale, just awesome, even that less talented fellow named govan isnt half bad, haha
The feeling on this reminds me of led zeppelins cover of Since I've been lovin you, but with less emotion. which if you've heard the song, is far from an insult. this guy has perfect timing and phrasing, and he gets some really nice tone out of that lp
To Eclectic Dictus- If you listened properly to Aynsley's albums you will hear some great original stuff that begs the question why he is not as well known as the much hyped members of the blues mafia such as Bonamassa and Mayer. Aynsleys own stuff is some of the best british bles rock to come out for years. Check out "Hurricane","whats it all about" anfd "With me Tonight". Great original stuff.
woo mama,, I dig that bigtime bro,,, your tone and energy were great. I felt it, you don't need to jump like crazy to make a statement. Tone was phenomenal as well. 5 stars
I wish this guy would play this kind of stuff on his own albums. From what I have heard he doesn't. If he does I would love to know what the tracks are.
You should listen to John Mayalls 'Hard Road' album. The Greeny sound on it is similar to this vid. Not as many notes though, but it does get busy at times.
I'm a big fan of Aynsley's seen him loads of times, Robin, Flowerpot....but PG didnt sound like this..too distorted and too fast, Peter never played a lick in is life..
Anbody who has a negative response to this dude's playing must be battling some inner demons and can't seem to provide us with any tasteful playing of their own......this is quality blues/rock phrasing.
People... Seriously.. Leave this guy alone. Holy shit. He is playing his heart out and your bashing the way he looks. You people are a bunch of superficial douschebags. Please if you can do better pick up a guitar and make your own video you fucking assholes.
ppl who criticise the look of someone(when it comes to music) they know shit about music and they are bottom level characters as well ... music is for the ears and this guy sounds awesome in my ears
It makes me wonder when people criticise players like this guy. In my view when you yourself can play like that, then you can criticise! He is not Sergovia, Bream, Hendrix, SRV, BB, Green or any of the other greats but he is bloody good! He just won the British Blues Final convincingly. Respect where it is due. I've played for over 30 years, am classically trained from childhood, but I couldn't play like this to save my life even if I practiced for a long long time! Hats off to the guy!
Aynsley, what LP & pickups are you using in this video? Also, I love the Little Wing you did for Cornford Amps, It's ALWAYS on my ipod..... Great soulful playing!! Take Care!!
fucking great tone and great blues plays my man, im so jelous about your talent, i would like play a little like u man congratulation... stil practice bro u r a great musician
Simply put, you guys with your negative shit...are wrong. 99.9 percent of the guitar playing public over 16 years old says so. So STFU. You are wrong.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
this guys playing behavior is seriously annoying! his fish mouth, ..(i'd say a bed feeder) and his constant hand dropping mannerism make him look like a complete retard! and for his playing! once you have heard the first 40 seconds, you have listened to other boring bluesy drib drab regurgitated bull shit he is playing.
Damn! I better check your channel because you must be an awesome player to be able to put him down like that. He was throwing out some nice licks. This guy will murder you in the bends/vibrato/hammer ons/pull offs/phrasing department.
Well, it's good, but it's nothing like the srtle of Peter Green. Maybe the odd hint of a tone from the guitar, but certainly not the playing style, that's for sure. Sounds more like an early Clapton where he just meandered on the blues scale. Peter's style is more complex than this of course and then there's the feel...'yes...'very very different indeed. This guy plays good blues, but he's never getting close to Mr.,Green.
i agree. the backing track sounds like "love that burns" but the solo sounds like claption playing "double trouble" in the 70s at the start and ends up like gary moore. to much distortion to be greeny & not enough bb king. nice tho', just not greeny.
I don't know why everyone keeps bashing comments like this...he's not pretending to be peter green...he's just improving to a greeny style slow blues backing track. This is some of the best playing I've ever heard, but its true what some are saying...its not really peter green in tone (too much overdrive) or touch... its more clapton, but its does sort of have the greeny feel which is the most important bit anyway!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I agree with you fsofty I watched this with the idea I was going to see someone take off Peter Green style, but this is nothing at all like him.Mind Im not saying he cant play, he is ok but comes across as a bit pretentious, but ha thats rock and roll man.
It's about the music, this guy can play, period. I don't know why people have to be so petty on comments. OH HIS FACE IS NOT RIGHT FOR THE NOTE BEND, BLAH BLAH. THIS GUY IS PRETENTIOUS AND ARROGANT! Do you know this guy personally?? You sound like a bunch of little jealous brats!!
Just my two cents but it seems to me the title says 'playing to a Peter Green style track' not 'playing in the style of Peter Green.' Just watch Guthrie Govan's videos for evidence of this. He reminds me of Stevie Ray's 'Dirty Pool' or Mike Bloomfield on the Paul Butterfield Band's 'I Got a Mind to Give Up Livin' more than Peter but who cares? His tone is wicked, his licks are tasteful and articulate, and he has good vibrato which is exactly what is to be expected in a good blues solo. 5 stars.
Absolutely wonderful!! Aynsley CANS the tone. Peter Green is tough to do do---that's because he leaves his blood on the tracks---all of it. Our man here does the same. Love it! And very much appreciate this video. I can die now.
Firstly you should change your title to "Aynsley Lister playing to Gary Moore style track" and then try to listen some early Fleetwood Mac tracks and pay attention to the guitar.
It's really like Jeff Beck but in a completely fantastic way! Beck uses a tremlo for all his crazy sounds and this guys just uses his fingers! Sounds like he's using a slide at times too! Fantastic! Did i use enough !!!!!!!!! in this? !
Aynsley Lister, I've not heard of you before now and this is the first vid I clicked on. Simply put, YES! Someone who gets it on this site. That's about as close to Mr. Green as it gets. But I must admit, my new 1957 classic PUP's sound pretty danged close. Very nice work. I'm checking out the rest.
the thing that strikes me with this clip is the way Aynsley phrases those first few licks early on in this piece :) a very nice demonstration of the "less is more" philosophy of Blues guitar & one that any young budding slingers should take serious note of imho

You are a wee bit jelous and bitter perhaps? Time for you to go back to the drawing board and practice before you open your flap been so critical eh???
RaphaelDallas WTF are you talking about??? I was NOT comparing him to Gutrie Govan. My comment was to greasemcvey who said Alysley "sucked". Lister has done concerts that people walk away in "awe" Anyone who says such dumbass comments is screw loose.
from his website: "Black Les Paul Std. Owned from new (1990), its pretty much stock apart from the neck pickup which has been swapped to a Lindy Fralin vintage model..."
i've been watching several clips of this guy playing guitar, and I must say that although he doesnt display too big of a technical arsenal, he's so fuckin confident about his playing and about every single note he plays, and therefore his playing SHINES.
Awesome shit ! :))) gus

Conclusion - play guitar with confidence!
