Refuse to hire young USA people or atleast train them = no future for the US and it`s becoming more obvious as the economy falls. Way to turn your backs on your future, let alone your children, America... Despicable.
keep your faith guys. Look what they did to Detroit? They didn't care about those communities or the people who gave so much of their hard work and lives to Packard or GM or Ford.
Ultimately; they don't care about you.
But the answer isn't from "they" - the only answer can come from you. Don't wait or rely on the system. Forge your own path and make your own choices. You ARE limitless in what you can do and listen to your heart.
@telemetry9 Good luck using such things like "faith, peace, and love" to get oneself somewhere in this Hell hole Millions have done that and still live in shit.... if they don't care and they done that to Detroit, those "victims" are screwed...
Havent these kids heard of working while in school? Of COURSE no company wants to higher an inexperienced kid for 3 months when it could take at least 2 and a half months to JUST train them.
I feel sorry for kids today with no job experience that have to convince an employer that their labors will be worth the inflated minimum wage plus whatever other expenses are forced on an employer by various levels of government. It might help if you can put anything at all on an application to show that you have some basic job skills even if that means doing regular volunteer work for free or delivering newspapers. Good luck and don't give up.
you kids are still too idealistic. It is called competition. You are not getting the job because there was someone more experienced and better for the job than you. Study hard, take anything and be willing to give up your social life--you are not determined enough. I got a master degree with no financial aid--paid in cash. If I can do it, anyone can.
@philosophergenius - Yeah, I'm sure a PhilospherGenius like yourself has the answers to everything. He who knows himself wise is a fool, he who knows he a fool is wise.
@RayHolly69 He who quotes others is a fool. He who creates his own way successfully is a genius. And yes I do know the meaning of life. Its not difficult to figure out. People need to use their own brains more, and listen less.
@RayHolly69 All I'm saying is that by the time I was 19 I had paid for college and finished my first novel. If you don't learn to step it up. I'll have been more wise when I was 19 then you will be when you are 70
@philosophergenius - What you're saying is, people should be doing what YOU were interested in. I've been playing guitar for 10 years, and doing digital illustration as well. Also know web-design, and am planning to start my own company. Now do I tell other people they are talentless and need to step up because they don't have the same interests? LoL - + You went to college what, 20 years ago? College was a lot cheaper too.
@philosophergenius Everyone goes at their own pace. I know pregnant mexican teens who are genius's at math. Yet I suck at math. Some people have different interests and abilities in the brain; persue your own path. If you're good at school, go for it, some aren't meant to be put in a box and study things they are not interested in. I spend my time reading books on economy, and building wealth; not biology; I only study what I am interested in.
@RayHolly69 I read books on wealth building, psychology, economy, on my own time; for free, not in a college. I taught myself how to use photoshop, and have 12 years doing digital artwork; I taught myself html, again, I learn better when I'm interested. Not everyone is interested in getting a double masters by age 20; do I make sense? - Also, college teaches you to get a job and stay confined in a box rather then exploring your own creative interests. my 0.10 cents
10years experience? Yes we have a job for you. We pay $7 per hour, you need your own car, tools, supplies, clothes, cell phone, and laptop computer. Make sure your phone has lots of minutes and a big data package you must be available at all times, our other office is long distance... Make sure your here (and working) 15 minutes earlier, and wrap it up 15 minutes after what we pay you every day. Youget a unpaid half hour lunch but our policy is workers take 5 minutes to inhale their food.
Teenagers (and other low-skilled workers) get hit first during recessions, because it costs money to maintain a worker (minimum wage + government-mandated benefits). The amount of capital that a low-skilled worker generates just doesn't justify the cost of maintaining the worker, so these low-skilled workers and teenagers are the first to be laid off. If you look at the data, you will see this trend for the past few years.

to even be able to do that you gotta generate income to invest in such ventures, and yes, it is more difficult now more than ever to get a business loan from a bank despite us throwing free money at these huge banks. I think the youth should be outraged, and seeing the current protest on wall street is encouraging to me. Anyway entrepreneurship is a great avenue, but the question of getting there is a real challenge for the youth today.
@james040280 I just wanted to say that your comment is excellent and hits the nail right on the head. But how many of these young adults, this whole generation of young people in this day and age of the 21st century, will listen to this sound advice as they get deeper and deeper in debt (especially with student loans) for jobs that have mainly been outsourced?? Like someone told me earlier "If you can't find a job, make a job for yourself and possibly for others"

JOBS are so NOT the answer!!
Entrepreneurial skills ARE THE ANSWER.
How is is possible Asian foreigners still come to America and literally amass fortunes starting and running their own businesses? How is it possible?
It takes no experience to start a business, learn as you go on-the-fly, no possibility for layoff!
Find a need in the marketplace, fill that need and you will make money, end of story.
Begging for jobs? Come on people, break from the mindless programmed masses and EMPLOY YOURSELF!!

You are a commie.
No no no. If you make minimum wage, it is best you suck off the tax payer for medical, dental, education, child care, housing, and food stamps.
Because fuck man, it is best the capitalist max out profits with all the money they refuse to pay you, and make the tax payer cover your cost.
You think this is the good old days when a person could earn their way in life.
Fuck no man, if is all about capitalist profits!!!!
They mean more then you, or the tax payer...
