Great stuff! Of the covers of this song I've seen yours is the best so far. Second would be a tie between Catherine Wheel and ChefRagoo+Popsters. Third place would be that guy on the mandola, cholling1.
I for one am glad to see kids still playin HD. I grew up in Minneapolis and used to go see these guys in the early 80s at the entry and first ave. Keep it up!
i can't stand green day these days, but you're right, their version is tremendous! only heard it once, performed live on tv special mid-late 90's. do you know the performance I'm referring to?
@morgoth195 I think it's because most garage bands only have 1 mic to practice with and a PA that is hardly powerful enough for main vocal let alone 2 or 3. Most bass players are usually tone-deaf and wouldn't know a harmony if it came up and bit them in the ass.........and lead guitarists usually concentrating on shredding not to be fussed about adding a voice into the equation. Not a bad cover though, all things considered.

The first two Textbook records can be downloaded free at textbook.bandcamp.com. If you're into Husker Du and/or Green Day you might like it.

Why is it that whenever someone covers this song, they leave out the vocal harmonies?
morgoth195 3 years ago 7
maybe cause they are barely audible on the recording. but yeah that annoys me as well
