@msjumpingqueenful actually instructors have to make the area safe before seeing to the rider which means catching the horses thers no point helping a rider if thers a chance shes gunna get mowed down

no worries, i'm 16 and i've been riding for 12 years and moments like this still happen sometimes, the most important part is just getting back on. Hope it didn't hurt too much, but i bet you didn't make that same mistake again in that lesson so you probably learned from it!

At first i was just like, hmmm seems painful but looks worse than it is because of the loud noise caused by the jumping wing and then when i saw your foot was still in the stirrup i was just like 'NO WAAYY :O'
Ugh....That looked awful. That was a very violent refusal, so no one should be giving you crap about falling off. Stuff happens, and you know the horse better then all of us. If you watch, even though her steps are uneven, her nostrils are not flaring with each step on that leg, and she does not appear to be in pain. Lighten up! :)
On a different note, would you be okay with me using this is a horse fall video I'm making? Full credit, of course! ;)
@FreestyleBareback its dangerous to go to the rider before securing the horse. the horse is running round and could easily hurt the rider or instructor if the instructor went to check the rider.

I don't think this was entirely your fault. Obviously, the rider is a big part of any fall, but this was definitely at least partly the horse's misbehaviour.

ummm whoa, all I can say is that instructor should have gone to the person first not the horse. as I saw others standing around who could have stopped the horse. Took it like a champ though, I remember my first fall and it was exactly like that accept I made a full canter around the arena before my mount stopped and I could get my leg. Just very bruised and sore. no broken or sprained bones. we both were lucky.

@gothgothic8 It's always a difficult situation. You want to go to the rider because you want to know what happened, but a lose horse puts the other riders (and the rider on the ground) at risk. I think it's a matter of knowing the horse - maybe that horse has a history of bumping against other horses or running around unless stopped. Though, there is only one other horse in the ring (as far as we can see), so I don't know exactly what their thought process was.
Hope your ok and you didn't bump your head too hard. These things happen sometimes. I managed to fall off at a near standstill, bonk my head, break my wrist and nose and ended up being carried out of the ring by hot firemen. So at least you were doing something awesome!
It is clearly not the horse or riders fault... the jumps were to close together. I mean, seriously she picks up a nice trot over the first once and then "attempts" to canter the next one. They were to close together and the horse didn't have enough room to do enough strides.

Fuck! I watched this a long time ago, and it makes me more nervous if I ever do jumping xD they should do a little training with horses to teach them to stay calm and stop if something like this happens. Since no one wants to me dragged and caught in the stirrup.

Wow! I have fallen off twice in 8 years. My worst fall was when I rode a racehorse and he took off across the field. He was racing as fast as he could go and I kept pulling back but he would not stop so I had to jump. I landed in thorns and it cut up my arms, I hit a barbed wire fence and that gashed up my face, also I landed on my arm and hip. I broke my shoulder, thumb, wrist, and a hairline of a crack on my hip. It did not hurt too bad so I never cried, one because I was in shock, lucky me!
OH MAN, credit to you for riding a horse like that and going over jumps that big at age 13! That horse just all of a sudden was like YEAHHHH IM GONNA RUN INTO THIS STANDARD HERE... HAVE FUN! Wow... Ouch is all I can say. And then I read the description and saw that you got bucked off and hit the wall prior - good job getting back on after the fall but WOW bet you weren't expecting that. That's terrible!

Wow! I have fallen off twice in 8 years. My worst fall was when I rode a racehorse and he took off across the field. He was racing as fast as he could go and I kept pulling back but he would not stop so I had to jump. I landed in thorns and it cut up my arms, I hit a barbed wire fence and that gashed up my face, also I landed on my arm and hip. I broke my shoulder, thumb, wrist, and a hairline of a crack on my hip. It did not hurt too bad so I never cried, one because I was in shock, lucky me!

OH MAN, credit to you for riding a horse like that and going over jumps that big at age 13! That horse just all of a sudden was like YEAHHHH IM GONNA RUN INTO THIS STANDARD HERE... HAVE FUN! Wow... Ouch is all I can say. And then I read the description and saw that you got bucked off and hit the wall prior - good job getting back on after the fall but WOW bet you weren't expecting that. That's terrible!
