I can tell that this blew my (very young) mind away when hearing this in 1983. There was not much more electronic at that time than these kind of dance music, and electric boogie/breakdance music.
Loved it, still love it. The B side also very special. Drumsolo programmed in the Sequential took a lot of dedication from someone..
Used to love spinning this upstairs at Heaven in London, back in the day. Mixed very well with "The System's" "You are in my System" re. the virtually identical riff.
@SugREF77 The first time i heard this song was at Heaven which was a nightclub in Västervik on the east coast of Sweden where i grew up. Quite fun coincidence.
This song is on CD compilation NIGHTTIME LOVERS number 3. It's really amazing ! This is my favorit song! Thank You Mr Darryl Payne for this very good production. I cherch it a lot of years ... sorry for my english ... I'm to Paris
this was done with the first "dsx" sequencer...based on a fusion bass line I was working on. daryll walked in and reversed the hook and verse parts...and we went into unique recording and cut it. craig peyton
Sound reeeeeeally close to "You're in My System" by The System (Mic Murphy/David Franks), circa 1982. Was that the intent, or did they bite that tune from this one?
Just listened to this again and read this...are u really from the NV team?
If so..it would be great if more from those great former musicians, singers and producers came to react. I'm sure they love to see their music is reliving thx. to the internet!
fantasic tune. Mixed it mostly after "you are in my system". I remember... people danced to the hit from the system normal, while on this song people on the dancefloor let their emotions free
Yes awesome. Someone really took the time to program a drum solo on the Sequential Drumtracks drumcomputer (many's favorite in the 80's, including Prince). On the
B side dub there's even more of that.
I remember in the days of '83, the digital modernism of this track was considered almost out of space, together with the hip hop that was being made the same way..
party starts from here xD

So....it has been 25 years ago since I first heard this track and the bassline is still killing ! Love this...

Yep, it was kind of a ground breaking song when it came and the bassline is probably what makes one not forget this song that easily.
