I know im running a s-trim on my fox but one i visited the turbo forums, my whole perspective changed. there are guys running 550 ish on stock blocks with good fuel and dead on tunes.
@itsstock09 Honestly it's a really hard comparison to make. The 408 sounded sick and had the wow factor, but this setup is less expensive, and I love that I'm able to turn up the boost if I get bored of the power level (which you always do).
The reason i ask is because i picked up a kit from on3 performance along with 60ln ijectors and what not and i was looking for a number due to my mods. ive been told 500rwhp but dnt wanna grenade the block
@itsstock09 I'd say less than that right now but it's making a ton of torque. I'll run it at the track this year and then I'll have a better idea of the power!
Sick car. Love the Zephyr and the coupe. Any more info on the current setup? Building an HX40 powered explorer motor in a Volvo 740 station wagon. Stock cam for now, in the spring I'll change it along with the 3.73s
As much as the 408w was a crowd favorite, I never drove the car and get bored of things way too easily. So I sold most of it, but kept all the custom stuff (such as the intake, etc) in case I want to build another windsor down the road. I figured I'd throw this setup together in there for now for something to play with.
Taken it to the track yet? Freakin love the setup.

What is the a/r size on the turbo?
afr185sc50 11 months ago
@afr185sc50 The exhaust a/r is .68. It pretty much makes boost on demand with no lag.

ok they not as hard on the engine as to where a supercharger puts pressure on the crank. what size turbo are you running a 70mm?
itsstock09 11 months ago
@itsstock09 Yah basically it's taking less power to make the power with the turbo. Yes it's a 70mm, I feel this is a great size for a stock block.

@itsstock09 In my opinion 500 rwhp with a turbo is definitely sustainable on a stock block as long as the tune is spot on.
