  • @StrongerTeamDotCom no I am being serious, what is the point of isometric traning, why is it good to do it?

  • @89tinkerbutt Just another way to strength train!

  • @StrongerTeamDotCom alright thank you very much

  • @89tinkerbutt Isometric strength exercises are a great way to add variety, maximize workouts with limited equipment, and strengthen connective tissue and small intrinsic muscles.

  • how long are you supposed to rest for?

  • @sunami108 That's up to YOU!

  • @StrongerTeamDotCom are you supposed to do upper body one day and lower body another day?

  • @Heatfan96 That is one way to do it... or do your entire body each workout....

  • @StrongerTeamDotCom so i can work my entire body every day

  • @Heatfan96 NO! Work your entire body 2-3 per week!

  • @StrongerTeamDotCom ok thanks, cause i was trying to do it for 30 and nearly broke my arms!!

  • @joshswagg13 Over time, as you progress, you should be able to hold each position for a full minute!

  • how long should you do each exercise?

  • @joshswagg13 15 to 60 seconds....

  • This is like advanced planking lol.

  • the exercise at 0:19 , what is this working?

  • @pokerrich9 Hips and butt...

  • Great stuff Alan. I too love isometric work occasionally and have found it a great teaching tool for positional work. Gives you time to coach and address issues without the risk of things getting quite so messy. PS - thanks for the interview

  • @TheUnGuardables My pleasure, thank YOU!

  • Good video- Right calf's been bothering me longer than it usually does... prevented me from getting proper lift on my jump today resulting in missed dunks and layups- should i rest longer?

  • @Fogducker19 That's up to you... if you think you injured it... I suggest you go see a doctor or PT....

  • Mr. Stein i have a quick question. I just trained hard for 4 week doing plyometrics, max effort benching, and very heavy split squats all on different days. How long do you suggest I take off for recover? I just took a week off and when I went back to the gym today I was still tired? should I take another week off? Keep in mind, during the 4 weeks of training I was still dunking about 3 times a week? do you think dunking while doing this hard training taxed my body too much?

  • @SmooveSole You must have severely over trained... you should be more than recovered after taking a week off! Only YOU can answer if it was too much!

  • @StrongerTeamDotCom thanks for the reply! ill make sure to take it easier with the dunking during weeks of training. i think 1 more week should give me the time to recover, i think the dunking with the training at the same time was just too much. thanks again Alan!

  • @SmooveSole My pleasure. From what you described, I don't think the dunking was the problem... I would take a closer look at your training!

  • Good job Alan, another insightful video as always.. Keep up the good work!

  • @troyculley1 Thanks Troy, I appreciate you!

  • iso are great keep up the good work

  • @speedstrengthathlete Thanks! Will do! I appreciate you....
