Haha. I know what you meant by shortening the word in the South. I am living in Chiang Mai (the North), but have been to the South couple times. Though the Southerners speak as though they're in a rush, they are actually very friendly. :-)
Muay Thai is amazing for Fitness and Self-Defense so do not give up on training. There are many Gyms in Chiang Mai. Where is your Hotel ... we plan on coming there end of April - May 2010 ??
South Thailand Music Band = Job 2 Do and the Song is "Do Do Do ... " = "See all the work we have to do." They helped raised funds for the Tsnami Relief in South Thailand. ;-)
