There are a couple of other bands that hardcore Switchfoot fans should check out: Mortal, and Fold Zandura. Jerome Fontamillas, Switchfoot's keyboard and backup guitar player, used to play bass and sing in both of these bands. Mortal is especially awesome, but unfortunately there are not very many videos posted for the band especially for the Mortal album 'Wake'. Trust me - these two bands are totally worth checking out.

It's the same like loving the half of a person or being half-addicted to a drug... hahaha. But OK. If you don't like Switchfoot's beginning and the musical experience they had collected on their long way to the commercial music scene... great. To me it's one of their best albums! But that means I can't be a real freak, right?

@Switchfootfreak99 look... this album isn't bad. it's surprisingly amazing and refreshing. It has an earthy, simplistic, yet powerful. it has a nice raw feel that you rarely see in todays music... it's why i like it .o.

If you listen close at the beginning of the song you hear a dedication to Charlton Heston, the actor who played Ben Hur in the epic film way back when.

If you've watched the film, or read the book, you would know the storyline is rather religious, but this song has very little to do with that story.
