Behind me you can see a boom stand; hanging from that is a shure sm57 facing the direction of the snare. For this recording I just plugged the mic directly into the camera. I'm using Evans EC2 clear skins (sort of equivalent to remo pinstripe I guess).

I'm using Evans EC2 clear skins - didn't like them at first 'cos I prefer the open/live sort of sound but they sound good when recorded apparently. Cheers for the comment dude, glad you like it :)

Thanks :) It's a Sonor S-class, but I'm using a Chad Smith snare (from Pearl). Got a little bored of the wooden snare sound that's all.
