Kan stolt presentera att F10 i Ängelholm var den flottilj i Flygvapnet som hade Draken längst. Dom tyckte det var en så fin kärra så att dom hade svårt att säga farväl av den när epoken var slut.

Ängelholm må vara den sista flottilj som flög 35 i Sverige, men Norrköping förblir föralltid Drakenriddarorderns stamort ;)

I år är det 50 år sedan ordern instiftades. Jag hoppas på lite firande den 13:e maj (kanske inte som för 15 år sedan men iaf)

Hoppas att det blir lite firande. Flyget i Sverige fyller 100 år i år, så det blir en hel del firande i Göteborg under den stora flyguppvisningen i Augusti iaf. :)

What about the weapons though? The Yank's Falcon was a rotter in fighter-to-fighter combat in Viet Nam. What about the Rb-xx home built derivative of self-same rotter?

Not really sure about the falcons, rb27 (radar) and rb28 (heat).

The 35 did carry sidewinders, rb24 as well, and had a 30mm(?) Aden canon. The D-model had 2 canons iirc.

Since it was never used "for real" I do not know about the performance of the missiles.

I think we do not need to touch on the early usage of rockets in the air-to-air role :P
