  • this is what i thought race cars of the future would be

  • @MrWill502

Ha ha, then i would feel sorry for the drivers. The seat is very uncomfortable. ;)

  • @JollyRogers5150

    Thank you very much! :)

  • most beautifull jet ever

  • very much an aircraft ahead of its time thanx 4 posting it too!

  • Your welcome! :o)

  • This plane is awesome, very good video :))

  • Thank you for the warming comment. :o)

  • What about the Avro Arrow.

  • Kan stolt presentera att F10 i Ängelholm var den flottilj i Flygvapnet som hade Draken längst. Dom tyckte det var en så fin kärra så att dom hade svårt att säga farväl av den när epoken var slut.

    R.I.P F10, R.I.P Draken

  • Tack för din kommentar. :o)

  • Draken most certainly is a great fighter plane :)

  • it is a good plane but it is ugly to me...:)

  • me 2

  • It's the most beautiful plane the swedish airforce ever used..

  • i disagree the jag 39 gripen is a fine looking plane but the 35 is made by my grandmother's cousin

  • I ment the 35 Draken, not the JAS 39 Griffin

  • Unique aeroplane.Geat footage! Well done to those who built, flew, and let us watch!!

What about the weapons though? The Yank's Falcon was a rotter in fighter-to-fighter combat in Viet Nam. What about the Rb-xx home built derivative of self-same rotter?

    First hand knowledge, anyone?

  • kerschniggle:

Not really sure about the falcons, rb27 (radar) and rb28 (heat).

The 35 did carry sidewinders, rb24 as well, and had a 30mm(?) Aden canon. The D-model had 2 canons iirc.

Since it was never used "for real" I do not know about the performance of the missiles.

I think we do not need to touch on the early usage of rockets in the air-to-air role :P

A stunning beauty and a big part of my growing up. I miss her so much.

  • The shape is timeless. So sad it no longer in service.

  • I can only agree. :o)

  • One of my favorite jets!

  • My favourite jet, beautiful yet deadly. Today's planes got no soul.

  • it's included in one of the early ACE COMBAT games...

  • Eurofighter is a mistake!

  • I would not go so far as calling it a mistake. But todays modern fighters are not as beautiful as the old ones. No charm, no character, just one´s and zero´s.

  • Because its from the 60´s. :o)

  • that was a great plane!!

  • It sure was. Austria scrapped their fleet only a few years ago.

  • i miss this plane.

i cant blieve this plane first flew in 55

its shown in japanese famous comic named Area 88

  • He he, yeah it looks a bit futuristic. More like a spacefighter then a airplane. :o)

  • nice vid a i alwas thought the draken was a beautiful jet

  • Thanks! I always been a Viggen-fan, but the Draken is right up there with it. :o)
