  • Amazing :D how do you learn to play both the main part and the lower underlying part? im so stuck on that :(

  • good is good

  • I never noticed before how similar the starting chords are to pachelbel's cannon.

  • hearing this made me so happy... =*)

  • Awesome dude !! :)

  • Nicely and sweetly done =)

The significant other is going to learn this song (and I swear I didn't make him) ^_^

Thank you for a lovely upload.

  • nice^^

  • thank you so much for sharing the tabs :]

  • fantastic!

  • you make it look so easy but i know its nowheres near easy haha

  • just tried playing it

holy crap its alot harder then it sounds

  • I love your rendition of the song. As in, the way you play it with suitable tempo changes and all that. ^^

  • I'm quitter but.. gee whiz I'm thinking to try again, fantastic

  • Not easy-peasy to play, but sounds excellent

  • Beautiful!

  • Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi in japanese, Spirited Away in English, le voyage de Chihiro ein French.

One of the masterpiece of Hayao Miyazaki, the same guy that create "Princess Monoke"

  • From which game is this, i have heard but i do not remember.

  • Spirited Away, a movie

  • the name in spanish is: "El viaje de Chihiro"

probably it can help u :D

  • ok! gracias amigo xD

  • Its actually from a movie called Spirited Away By Hayao Miyazaki

  • beautiful ^^

  • wow

  • i checked the tab out and i'm confused...are you supposed to tune the guitar a little bit before playing? and on the first fret..there's a 2 and 4..do you play them both at the same time?

  • yes you change the low E string to a bass D and when you start you hit both 2 and 4 at the same time :3 I'm learning it right now. :3

You can either tune the E to D with a simple guitar tuner or, if ur really good o_O, by ear

  • hey no tuner needed ;D

if u just hit the 7th fret , and tune it to the A string (assuming its in tune :P) , bam, youve got a D! :) It is drop d tuning btw... usually used for metal, but is beautiful in this piece ^^

  • I am also learning this song :P

  • You have to tune down to drop D.

  • No, he already had it tuned in D

  • Yeah i know.

    I was replying to tsubasaclow.

  • I liked the movie alot, and this cover too :)

  • wow just wow... youre really cool otacon!

  • Real whacko! Sounds nice

  • I'm a self teaching guitarist and ive had mine for about 2 months now... yay for guitar christmas present :P I'm trying to do this song and yet its so hard to get that background part in... is there any pointers i can get to help me w/ it

  • Just watch cgseth do it. He makes it look easy so it's most likely the easiest way to play it.

  • played very well, i am Japanese, and if you ever get the chance, visit Japan!

  • que bonito tocas xD

  • lovely :)

  • Play with a capo on fifth fret to make it soun more like in the movie

  • It sounds kick ass on my electric guitar, but I think I need an acoustic. xD

  • OOH, this is veryyy nice!! Great job!

  • woww!!!! eres impresionante

    esa cancion me hace recordar...

    cry!!! T-T

  • This is spectacular; do you use an alternative tuning method or the traditional e,a,d,g,b,e?

  • Its in drop D i think

  • my god no way, I love this song

    you're amazing

  • amazing stuff bro haha i must learn it now haha i havnt played my acoustic in awhile mostly my electric be good to play it again thanks for revitalizing my want to play acoustic again :P

  • awesome!!! thanks for put the tabs, u r the best

  • I like your play, very beautifull

  • beautiful playing, keep it up

  • that guitar sounds different than mine

but i've got the standard tuning (E,A,D,G,B;E)

    how did u tune up?

  • Tune your low E down, nothing gets tuned up.

  • Amazin', I Love this song =)

You should add voices on it ^^'

  • that was amazing! its alot better than some of the other versions of this song ive heard.

  • Wonderful!

  • can somebody tell me what a "drop D tuning" is? I just started playing a few days ago, so I don't know that much.

  • From standard tuning (EADGBE), tune the lowest string down to D (in tune with the 4th D string, but an octave down).

  • thanks I get it now

  • What nostalgia seeing you playing this triggers.

I saw this movie in middle school, and hearing it again as a freshman in college definitely takes me down memory lane.

Thanks man, and a wonderful arrangement.

  • I'm glad you liked it.

  • haha, you make me feel old! I saw this during university and now I'm 27 and living in Japan.

  • haha, sorry but that's awesome you're in japan

how are you liking it and adapting to the language barrier?

  • No language barrier, I speak Japanese ;)

But I think it's a great place. Really happy I came. Cultural differences are sometimes a bit of a problem. Politeness for example. Some people try to be so polite that they never just say what they mean directly. Quite annoying at work when you need to get stuff done in a hurry and someone is taking forever to explain just to be through and make no mistakes.

  • haha yeah, i've heard their politeness is sort of a public facade, and they go way out of their way to be polite too

have you had authentic ramen yet??

  • Yeah but the thing you have to understand that to 'us' it's too much. To 'them' it's normal. So if you don't act super-polite when when you should, people get uncomfortable.

Oh and the ramen, yes I love ramen. But they have it all over the place! Ramen shops are like fast-food places here. Each with thier own 'special' blends. They even have ramen magazines that showcase ramen from different places and tell you where you can eat it.

  • I admire the Japanese for their polite ways. Americans should use that example and follow suit.

Oh wow, ramen everywhere? I'd be in heaven! How about sushi? Do they have sushi places everywhere?

  • I agree that being polite and kind in important and that American's could learn about from the Japanese. But when you begin a buisness meeting with 3 hours of just introductions I think it's a bit much.

I'm not feeling to well so I'm actually going to get some ramen now :)

There are also many sushi places but not as many as ramen. Still pretty easy to find.

Thanks man, and a wonderful arrangement.

  • the movie spirited away is not a once in a lifetime not even once in a millenium it is one of those greatest things of all time, it captures your imagination and with the masterfull music which literally carves itself into your soul takes you on an adventure through everything that you would say is heaven.. this song and how you play it is masterfull

  • @spencerjamesclark

I couldn't have said it better myself. :)

I've never liked anime, but for some reason, Studio Ghibli movies (ESPECIALLY this one), had an enormous impact on me. They're the epitome of animated films. This film and its' music are some of the most well-made in existence.

  • your song made my ears have an orgasm.
