For recordings that Michael Jackson supposedly willingly and knowingly agreed to being made, the quality is very poor. Some bits sound more like recordings made by a microphone hidden behind a cushion or something!

Michael never said he was God. He believed we should all act Godlike and love each other. Why is that statement any less potent coming from Mj than from Gandhi or The Pope. I don't think MJ was delusional where it came to Hitler. Michael was probably speaking from his experience dealing with people where his influence on them changed their perception. He felt love was the answer to what ails the world. I read Shmuley's book and it is full of his interpretation of Michael. He constantly pauses to tell the reader what to think or how to feel, instead of letting the reader interpret it himself. And Meredith's narratives are leading, negative, and very unfair to MJ.

It's a shame, the book then would have probably done him more good than that Living With Michael Jackson documentary that painted him sideways.

Don't know if these tapes were meant to be released & no matter if the rabbi betrayed MJ or not..what the rabbi says is true. It was evident BEFORE the tapes that MJ was hurting by the lack of love from his father & all he really wanted was his father's approval & love. I think the tapes are a blessing in that we can truly see MJ for who he was...a hurt human being with insecurities like the rest of us. Many of us can identify with his pain. Michael never said he was God. He believed we should all act Godlike and love each other. Why is that statement any less potent coming from Mj than from Gandhi or The Pope. They too were just "men" put into their position by other men thru worldly circumstances, and not by a deity. I don't think MJ was delusional where it came to Hitler. Michael was probably speaking from his experience dealing with people where his influence on them changed their perception. He felt love was the answer to what ails the world. I read Shmuley's book and it is full of his interpretation of Michael. He constantly pauses to tell the reader what to think or how to feel, instead of letting the reader interpret it himself. And Meredith's narratives are leading, negative, and very unfair to MJ.

@polka216 The audio was originally to be used to create a new Michael Jackson autobiography to help rehabilitate his image and set the record straight, but MJ had a falling out with Rabbi Boteach & the book didn't come out until after his death. It's a shame, the book then would have probably done him more good than that Living With Michael Jackson documentary that painted him sideways.

I think Boteach said that coming from a place that this guy was someone that was his friend & I think he really tried his damndest to save him & he felt he was good man capable of so much more & he ended up throwing his life away to his addiction to the spotlight & to prescription drugs.

I think its funny that in a recent interview LMP says that MJ never connected with another woman like he did with her - I think he felt a way stronger connection to Brooke Shields, Princess Diana and Diana Ross than he ever did with Lisa Marie. when i first i heard these tapes i felt like this was my least favourite mj interview but then i downloaded a free fan version of this book on internet and i found that he was stiill so pure....everything he said u can find only LOVE in it and they are just trying to show the negative things.... and overall i felt like he cared about nothing but helping children.. and this shmuley dont you ever buy his book ...let him know what mj fans are..and let him ubderstand the power of love and purity..

I read the book and Rabbi Smelly is just that a dirty stinking smelly rat, who took Michaels words and turned them against him. He critized Michaels parenting , his love of children, his committment to giving children a voice. I see why the Rabbi is trying to share these things about Michael with the world. Its not really about Michael, its for the sake of other people. Its so that people can see Michael as a person who was very complex and had problems like the rest of us. Its more so we can examine ourselves and our own behaviors and I respect that notion. However, I do not approve of a therapist releasing private sessions to the public. That bothers me very very much. So I'm torn on getting this book.

@zevemia Martin Bashir pretended to be a fair & honest Reporter. Michael allowed him into his life agreeing to be interviewed for a documentary. Bashir constantly praised Michael for all of his good works.. then when the documentary aired, Bashir edited all of his "good" comments to Michael & changed them to paint Michael as weird, Neverland as a danger to children, twisted everything Michael said in order to change it into a negative.

People, & particularly children, were so "inspired" by even meeting Michael Jackson, that they would perk up & he was able to "motivate" them to try harder to get well!! I don't feel like Michael was naive at all. & i don't think he was conceited about his "power", he was actually quite humble. & he didn't mean he would use his celebrity or anything to get through to Hitler, but that he would use his heart in understanding a hurt human being.

The real tragedy is the state our society is in. Michael Jackson has been used, manipulated and tormented his whole life... Rabbi Shmuley is just as bad as Martin Bashir.. or possibly even worse because he has done this right after his death. Michael Jackson believed that even "Hitler" could be a good person if he only had been given love. That says so much about his heart and to me that is not a tragedy that is a blessing and an inspiration.

@zevemia Michael turned away from Schmuley (I refused to even call him a Rabbi) because, at one time, Michael started a charitable foundation w/ him called "Heal The Children." After substantial funds were raised, Michael discovered that Schmuley & his wife STOLEN MONEY from the organization. The way he found out is when the Schmuley's were investigated by the IRS & it was published in the media.

Don't know if these tapes were meant to be released & no matter if the rabbi betrayed MJ or not..what the rabbi says is true. It was evident BEFORE the tapes that MJ was hurting by the lack of love from his father & all he really wanted was his father's approval & love. I think the tapes are a blessing in that we can truly see MJ for who he was...a hurt human being with insecurities like the rest of us. Many of us can identify with his pain. Now maybe the world can STOP judging him so harshly.

@thegirlofthemelody , same here.Schmuley did not know Michael, the way he thought he knew him.All what Schmuley wanted was to sell a book and sell himself through this book at the expense of the trust given to him. Although he was saying much of this.."people should treat Michael more charitably stuff...." he sounded unreal with his intention. Honestly don't like the insight the rabbi has to critique about Michael's personality and stuff on the tapes. The tapes were never meant to be made public; I don't think so. Why does he have to be so negative and continually portray Michael in a bad light?? whatever. I'll always continue thinking positive things about Michael. but it saddens me of my own ignorance ... I never thought that someone like him with all that fame could actually be so lonely.
