I use a regular trap, but set it as a hairpin trigger. Smear a small amount of peanut butter, don't put a big clump of it. Then set it under a low piece of furniture that clears the ground by a inch or so it won't completely go off when setting it. When you are confident it will go off at the slightest vibration, remove it by slipping a piece of thin cardboard underneath and carefully taking the trap to where you want it, carefully sliding the cardboard away from it as you set it down.
