You can definitely tell the Volt is a heavyweight in some of the tighter turns. Still, not a lot of body roll, so the suspension is good. Stickier tires could make it a lot faster on the track, but then you'd have more friction on the street meaning less fuel efficiency. Over all, it's doing well.
Goddamn that car has hoooooorrible wind buffeting. GM really has to fix that. That's a huge engineering oversight. It also destroys the sound of the engine and conversation in the car, and therefore the video. Stopped watching @ 2:43. Couldn't take it anymore!
Gotta compliment the driver on the transitions through the corners and especially noteworthy the smooth as silk movement through the corkscrew! Nicely done!
How many of the available 28 electric miles did you chew through with those laps? Would have been neat to have seen a dash cam or something...you just don't get the sense of speed with the utter silence of the electric motor!
What is that terrible sound? I know it's not the car. Is it because the windows are down and the wind is vibrating the camera or is it the air pressure in the car fluctuating?
@dchou1987 Yeah, I got that, but I've seen many videos from this track and never noticed that before. I think it was a poorly mounted camera being effected by the wind.
Looks and drives like the slowest car on the track... Boring!... get a Miata.

solution to the buffeting is to crack the opposite side rear window. most tracks require windows down for safety reasons.
