  • I pay extra per month to fast forward commercials on my TV and here I am watching nothing but commercials. I wouldn't fast forward if commercials were still like this. :-)

  • Charlie Sheen at 3:18!

  • This brings back so much.

  • what was rong with kids in the 80's man it must of suck

  • The south's worst television station.

  • Oh my god, I miss my My Buddy!!!!

  • 3:02 I had those glasses :(

  • If Barbie is so popular, how come you have to buy her friends?

  • I just got punched in the face by some crazy dude. Dude's name was Nostalgia.

  • I love and miss these times. I like how everything wasn't set to (c)rap music.

  • I'm so sad. I miss the 80's. I miss Saturday morning cartoons. Is just me or was the 80's a great time for kids to live? NO IPODS,COMPUTERS,TEXTING,CELL PHONES OR STUPID VIDEO GAMES. Kids actually made christmas lists and put TOYS on it. Not expensive things parents can't afford.

  • 'My Buddy' looks like a non-ginger Chucky. :s

  • Koolaid killers

  • my buddy was like having CoD today.

  • Good ol' memories. Just seeing the old channel 6 ID, reminded me of when channel 8 call letters were WXEX, now WRIC. On Saturday mornings, there were a variety of cartoons on channels 6, 8 & 12 and eventually 35.

  • Omg, the memories!!!!

  • omg i have sunkist drink right now and i see those fruit snacks @.0 i neeed those

  • Did anyone else shit bricks when they saw the "My Buddy" doll?

  • My Kid Brother is actually the model for Chucky.

  • There is nothing in this 5 mins 39 secs that I did not remember! Love it :)

  • @1:37 I know a kid who's gettin his ass kicked tonight.

  • My buddy like to chucky xD

  • OMG My buddy dolls...If my son (I have no kids) wanted one of those I would say "What will you want next, a Barbie Dream House?"

  • Ernest! I must have drove my dad insane with my love of Ernest movies as a little kid.

  • Ernest!

  • I hate these videos.

Only because they depress me, make me long for my younger days when I was a kid.

Video Games were better, didn't have to worry about debt and getting a job (since I lost mine at the end of Oct and I have only got a pt job which doesn't make me enough to pay my bills),weekends were something to look forward to.

I just can't help but watch these videos longing for those days gone by.

  • @snake2006 Yeah, I am now approaching my mid 30's in bankruptcy with $20,000.00 dept, barely making it paycheck to paycheck with a 16 year old car with 170,000 miles on it. What ever happened to the fun days?

  • Ahhh... The good old days, when there was only 5 fuzzy channels.

  • watchng this kind of thing makes me smile, and yet makes me sad at the same time

  • I wanna go to Central Fidelity Bank or Ukrop's to get my Halloween bag! Wait...I'm being told neither Ukrop's or Central Fidelity no longer exist.

  • OMG! You're from Richmond? I remember that old CBS bumper! This is great! So many memories.

  • good times!!!

  • whatever happened to saturday morning cartoons anyway?nuttin but card game cartoons

  • i was 13 in 1988....id give anything to go back and do it all over again.......great tv.........if anyone knows anyone in the tv satelite buisness...tell them to start an all 80s tv channell with nothin but sitcoms cartoons comercials movies of the 80s.

  • Is it just me, or did it look like Barbie got pants'd?

  • I miss these so much :/

  • I loved that Ernest show!

  • WTF down to there 0_o

  • I've always wanted a Perfume Pretty Barbie and a Kid Sister. Toys from the 80s = fantastic!

  • Ok, The year is 1986, i'm 5, i remember waking up ealry around 6:00 and Thunder Cats use to come on Fox 32 WFLD chicago area, this is before fox became huge and Sliver Hawks use to come on right after. Then later on in my high school years late 90s Cartoonnetwork pick this show and Voltron back up. Cartoons are not cartoons anymore not like these shows in the 80s and early 90s...I guess that why I watch mostly anime now...American made stuff just isn't the same.

  • 1:30 I still have the green popper; but the bottom is cracked, so it doeasn't work

3:44 That tree creeped me out

  • 1:30 I still have the green popper; but the bottom is cracked, so it doeasn't work

  • My sister was convinced that her My Buddy doll was like Chucky!

  • i was born in 1991!!

  • Commercials from my hometown..I love it

  • I miss these days.

  • This is when McDonald's didnt have that gay jingle "I'm love'in it. " God I miss the Good ol' days!!

  • Those girls in the Barbie commercial are probably in their early 30s now.

  • God, they really sold crap to kids back then.

  • I forgot all about the soggies.

  • I REMEMBER ALL THESE.. LOL ESPECIALLY MY BUDDY..

  • Do they still make peanut butter crunch cereal?

  • @RockStarRochelle1 Yes they do!!

  • Nothing Better Than the 90's

  • "MY Buddy" :-O Good guys was real!!!

  • Im a girl born in '94 with 2 My Buddy dolls

My cousin has a Kid Sister and she was born in 2000

I realize some parts of the old days will never go away & it's cool how they stay with us:D

  • I loved the McPinball !!!!

  • I just bought rice krispies and i didn't find my action popper! is it mail away or what?

  • omg i remember that

  • this was awesome thanks for making me feel 4 again.

  • oh wow....can you believe these ads are 20 years old? Those of us who were kids in that era, our youth is completely gone. It's so strange that, as children of the television, one of the few ways to "access" our childhood is through watching these commercials - they formed grooves in our subconsciouses, and watching these is like re-traveling those grooves....somehow our lives were contained in these melodies and images....wtf.....painful

  • @ikthos77 *sigh*, I agree with you man, once I see all these commercials and TV shows it makes me sad to remember what used to be. The greatest Decade ever for cartoons, toys, music and video games just gone. BUT, we do have these videos so kids these days can see what it used to be like....I do miss it a lot.

  • @ikthos77 I'm almost 30, my youth is not gone. it's gone as soon as you start saying that. keep learning and wondering. time is an illusion. age is a state of mind. but you're right we did watch a lot of TV back then, but it was better back then, now TV sucks!

  • @ikthos77 wow, you over-think this kind of stuff, man. :D

  • @ikthos77 Yup! The one thing that is true about this era was that television was a utopia. This was the last era of that "pleasantville" perfect television world. Everybody's singing and dancing. Nevermind if things are falling apart in the real world! Watching this stuff still makes me feel good! Weird.

  • @ikthos77 Gosh I'm old!

  • @ikthos77 - i feel bad for you. i just wanted to look at these commercials, not trip out about being old..

  • I used to want to be on those Barbie commercials so bad back in the day...

  • Haha! I remember the Captain Crunch Soggies

  • Kid sister's song had some of the worst song editing ever. The my Buddy Kid sang the whole song in it's entirty but there are two girls singing Kid Sister, guess it was to much for one girl to handle alone.

  • Oh man! I remember nearly all of those! For a few minutes, I was ten years old again, indulging in the pleasures of childhood in the last great era of Saturday morning television, free of the troubles of the outside world. Ah, to have it all back...

  • GARFIELD AND FRIENDS FOREVER!Watched every episode :D

  • OMG...I REMEMBER ALL THOSE!!!!!!!!

  • MyBuddy is what they used for inspiration for Chucky

  • holy crap i used to have that barbie!!

  • I remember when dinosaurs used to be cool. That is until the flaming pink Dinosaur polluted the airwaves (he looks more pink than purple IMO).

  • 5:15

    Awesome gamertags!

  • Holy crap My Buddy commercial..I remember those!!!!! Good times!

  • see that's ANOTHER show that needs to come back on the air is GARFIELD & FRIENDS DUDE IM 25 NOW I WOULD SIT DOWN FOR AN ENTIRE DAY AND WATCH ALL THESE OLD CARTOONS & TV SHOWS IF THEY WERE ON THE AIR NOW

  • good lord My Buddy lol

  • kids nowdays have crap to watch.

all this shit looks like the people who made it were on acid.

  • I can't believe no one mentioned that the blond girl in the Barbie perfume commercial is Harmony from Buffy/Angel! I guess that her big poofy hair has always been her best asset

  • I remember these commercials. i can totally see some robot chicken skits from em.

  • Can anyone hear the My Buddy song without singing it for the next 3 days? Thanks a bunch.

  • This is even more nostalgic for me because I grew up in Richmond where WTVR is. I'm now living elsewhere and I miss Ukrops! From what I hear, it's being bought out by Harris Teeter? Blasphemy. Oh and I so remember Charles Fishburne the newscaster. Wonder what he's doing now.

  • I had a brunette Kid Sister.

  • And to think....all these kids are now adults out there somewhere...

  • Thanks for posting this. I was born in October 1988. Nice to see what I missed

  • wasn't that "joey" from friends in that 7up commercial?

  • Fun fruits were good as fuck

  • I remember the 'black' My Buddy commercials only airing during Soul Train, thats the only way I ever knew they had an alternate My Buddy doll.

  • 4:10 would have made a very good Tony Hawk level. Modders take note.

  • There are rumors that the "My buddy" doll tried to kill people, including Chucky! Yes folks, the my buddy doll is much much *worse* in spite of it's innocent facade. Beware

  • i still have that perfume pretty barbie and dress....that perfume was awful, but at the time i thought it smelled wonderful! good times, lol =)

  • I miss the 80's/90's..... *sigh*

  • Me too :(

  • @marcusotero It almost makes me wanna cry. CRYYYYYYYYY! Just like the song back then.

  • Wasn't the red head in the Oreo commercial one of the girls from babysitters club?

  • creamy little muncher?!?

  • Kid sister, kid sister, kid sister, kid sister, kid sister and meeeeeee. lol I'm actually moving from side to side while singing this song

  • My buddy, my buddy, my buddy and meeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Love that commercial, because it was SO memorable! XP

  • lol most of these are food products

    child obesity AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • Comment removed

  • Do they still make the Fruit Juicers? I want a roll of them now.

  • lol my buddy and kid sister? they must have been really lonely

  • I'll bet those girls that did the Kid Sister are totally hot now. At least the ones who didn't OD because their career never made it past commercials for 5 year olds.

  • I'm into Barbie and I am a 33 YO guy. That doesn't make me weird, does it?

That My Buddy commercial is so gay, and I mean that literally.

  • The fun fruits commercial tree is frightening...

  • my chucky, my chucky....I mean, my buddy, my buddy!

  • "We're into hair!! LOTS of HAIR!"...

ha ha ha (what else for the 80s)

  • I finally understand Demolition Man

  • why doesn't cereal come with anything cool anymore!

  • Haha, thanks for posting this!

This video is especially nostalgic for me because I'm from Richmond and grew up during the '80s watching Saturday morning cartoons on channel 6.

I think I even used that Ukrop's Halloween bag when I went trick-or-treating that year....

  • Now channel 6 is a spanish network.

  • ughh. welcome to the new United States

  • Comment removed

  • the my buddie looks like chuckie before he came to life and started killing people.. lol

  • lol all the kids in the kool aid commercial were white.

  • Pretty much all kids in ALL commercials back then were white, before political correctness made it a legal requirement to hire a rainbow of actors.

  • That McDonalds pinball style commercial is classic :)

  • Ohh so awesome....friggin soggies and the Fruit Rollups Talking and Singing Tree lmfao. wow thank you so much for posting this!!! ha ha. Im tickled Pink

  • hehe smae year i was born :P

  • I want a dinosaur spoon D:

  • I actually remember HAVING that spoon! cereal and milk used to spill all over me (driving my mother crazy!) when trying to scoop the cereal into the "mouth" of the spoon and eat.

I remember seeing that My Buddy comercial and usually after they would play either a Power Wheels commercial or a Tonka truck one.

  • i remember having a captain crunch board game with the soggys

  • The My Buddy doll reminds me of Chuckie from Child's Play.

  • I thank God I was an eighties child. You old timers can have the 70's and 60's. The eighties pwnd!!!

  • Indeed. I wouldn't trade growing up in the 80s for any other decade. Kids probably have it better now with the internet, cell phones, ipods. Still, nothing beats 80s culture.

  • @ForceFagerstorm That's the truth...

  • @ForceFagerstorm hell yea and im half and half

  • @ForceFagerstorm SAME HERE I WAS ALSO AN 80S CHILD.I LOVED HAVING SLEEPOVERS AND PLAYING BARBIES WITH MY BFF.

  • @ForceFagerstorm Give me the 50's, you can take the rest.

  • @ForceFagerstorm I am a child of the 80s, but I would have liked to have been a teenager in the 80s so being born in the 60s and early 70s wouldn't have been bad.

  • Random Trivia Question: Is that Jim Backus doing Cap'n Crunch's voice, or just someone trying to imitate him?

  • o my god these commercials make me wanna organize a game a tag

  • I had Perfume Pretty Barbie!!!!!!!!! The perfume stinked though.

  • haha it did stink!

  • thanks for upping this, I was born in 84 so its really cool to see his stuff again.

Also, I noticed how much more creative commercials were back then, today the creativity just ain't there.

  • hey kids it's Chet Thomas @ 4:00 the pro skater in the McDonald's commercial

  • lol at random ernest at 0:40

  • damn MY buddy RETRO totally remember thats commerical as a child

  • O R E O!!!

  • that prefum barbie smell like shit!!

  • ok everybody I damn sure am not gay but for my childhood they showed some much of barbie at one point I wanted one *caugh caugh* to have my GI JOE beat up and have sex with,BUT THAT'S IT!!!

  • Doing that wouldn't suggest anyone is gay, only that you help your buddy get laid once in awhile.

  • DAMN! I wanted to watch garfield & friends lol

  • i can't believe chet thomas was in that awful mcdonald's commercial. hilarious

  • Man I remember these commercials, so many memories.

  • that was awesome thanks! I totally remembered the Barbie Commercial!!!

  • my buddy's kinda creepy XDXD.

  • Yeah, did I just see that kid stick his tongue in My Buddy's ear?

  • More like Chucky

  • OMFG MY BUDDY. <3; that was the best commercial ever.

  • WVTR was a CBS station at the time. I'm not a fan of Virgina TV. I'm a New York City god. The same commercials you've seen are shown on WCBS-TV in New York City which is channel 2.

  • I remember "Garfield & Friends", "Hey Vern It's Ernest" with the late Jim Varney, "Mighty Mouse", "Flip" and a few others from back when I was 10. Those are on a CBS Saturday morning lineup shown on WCBS-TV.

  • It seems CBS used to air the very same programming all around, i used to watch this at KFMB CBS 8 in San Diego, CA.

It's great to see this, remembering is living again.

  • Oh, and I'm shocked that after 20 years - most of these TV stations decide to go from kick-ass 80's Saturday morning cartoons to educational/informational bullshit. Hello! Saturday is not a fucking "school" day here. And this is the reason I stopped watching Saturday morning cartoons now.

    $.X

  • 1982 was the year I was born. And these commercials, especially most Nintendo games kicked more ass than the modern!

  • I totally agree, fukin saturday morning cartoons and everything just totally blundered in this decade, things had so much better prospects in the 80's and 90's, but the 00's totally SUCK COCK!!!

  • Junk food and dumb toys! Thank God for Tivo so my kids don't have to "drink the Kool-Aid" literally!

  • Notice John Stephenson as the narrator in the 1988 Rice Krispies commercial (with Don Messick voicing Snap)?

  • I never wanted a My Buddy. It was kind of... scary, if you ask me. And this is coming from a kid who played with Madballs and collected Garbage Pail Kids.

  • you think theyll ever have a day on any network where they hava an 80s day?...ill keep dreaming

  • I just got a Guitar Hero mini game in a box of Raisin Bran. I just assumed I never see kid's commercials anymore because I never watch kids shows.

  • wow i totally forgot i ever had a perfume pretty barbie until this video...i remember that little perfume bottle wow :)

  • i remember one time when it showed those kids in that room with the tv screens and switches one of the boys was picking his nose and my friend had it on tape haha!

  • THEY USED TO MAKE GIANT DOLLS THAT BOYS CAN PLAY WITH!!!!! wow that odd...

i loved oreos and i still do! mmm

finally, they had a ton of "junk food" (HA!) ads, nowadays, they tell kids "eat veggies, not cookies!" and fresh fruit is considered "dessert" woooooow O.o

  • I was born 1984 Its so nice to see old commericals like these, especially the hear on cbs intro I LOVED TAHT SHITTT :) I fell so bad for the new kids today, THE MAGIC IS GONE.............. i dont think its ever gonna coem abck too :(

  • I hear you brother. I was born in 1983, and I loved the shit out the simple stuff in life, like Cap'n Crunch commercials and the like.

  • What's scary as I watch these is that I slowly start to remember things I've forgotten.

  • Lmao. the kool aid one made perfect sense. I mean, it WAS the 80's. Of course kool aid man was on cocaine!

  • Had a my buddy as a kid.... Freaked me the hell out never played with it.

  • Garfield and Friends! I own the first season on DVD! I need to get the rest of them.

  • Aw, it's pretty sad to think that kids today only have video games & DVDs to play with...there are hardly any fun toys anymore!

  • Wow this brings back a lot of memories for me. I have small siblings and I feel sorry for them and the culture they have to grow up in. It's not like this anymore...we have no morals. All my little sister wants to play with are Bratz dolls which might as well come with a condom in the package for the way they're marketed...

  • HAHAHAHHA!!!! HARVSOUL!!!! so did half of america!!! LOL!

  • I had a My Buddy too, until "Child's Play" came out.
