  • This video is making me hungry...looks so good.

  • @mokachyna22 Tastes mighty fine too.

  • O.O

how on earth do you eat fufu with a spoon ??@YesYouCan31

  • @YesYouCan31 I didn't use the spoon. I learned to eat it properly with my hands. I would love to go back too.

  • stupid whites get out of Africa we don't want you on our continent.

  • @MrSivram28 I am sorry you feel that way.

  • @ls176dr I'm Ghanaian, and i don't know where MrSivram28 is from but don't listen to him/her.

I love how you guys are open minded to experience something new ! Go on & explore more of Africa :)

  • @ls176dr Do not listen to what Mr Sivram said he is just an arrogant person. im black and i hate racism to any culture.

  • @ls176dr Don't take him seriously he's just ignorant. It's nice to see people try foods from different cultures.

  • you're an idiot, why would you say that?? @MrSivram28

  • @MrSivram28 That was rude and uncalled for! We should be happy other races are willing to travel and learn how we live. Stop being prejudice and narrow-minded!

  • @MrSivram28 There is no need for that kind of behaviour, what is done is done, move and leave the pass where it should be.... IN THE PASS!!! WE ARE ALL GODS CHILDREN!!!

  • @MrSivram28 Oh shut up white people are welcome to Africa. I'm black.

  • Looks like you're at Country Kitchen. Great place!

  • gud try!

  • gud try but not quite!

  • gud try

  • I have lived in Ghana for about six years and i eat all local dishes with a spoon no matter what. It is just too tricky, messy and difficult to eat with your bare hands especially if you plan to go back to work after the lunch break. I love Ghanaian dishes but with a spoon. lol

  • oooh dude ur eating it all wrong lol

  • You should have just used a spoon because you were making a mess. Or instead of just pulling off a piece and eating it you should roll your piece of fufu into a circle or oval shape, make a slight hole in the middle with your thumb so you can scoop the soup up easily. But since it was your first time I'm sure you improved after a while! I hoped you enjoyed the food and your stay in Africa.

  • @chikaijeoma Thanks for the advice. Yes, I got much better during my wonderful stay in Ghana.

  • @ls176dr lol.so happy to see a foreigner enjoying one of our local dishes.nice try mate.

  • @rapidol2008 Thanks - I always try to experience local foods and learn a little bit of the local language. In a short time, I learned to love Ghana.

  • @ls176dr .Oh i see,so have u learnt anything yet? i mean any words in the local dialect?.U should have tried Jollof rice, waakye and akpele they are great too.

  • @rapidol2008 "Akwaaba" - I ate lots of things including Jollof rice. Loved it all!

  • @ls176dr lol.......yes u are welcome.will u be coming again?have u been to any ghanaian festival yet?

  • @rapidol2008 I haven't been to any festivals but they sound interesting.

  • @ls176dr yes.Homowo,aboakyire,kudum,hogbetsotso and others.

  • @ls176dr come back again soon.did u try jollo rice,waakye,akpele.tuo zaafi?

  • in charleston sc, we eat okra soup over white rice. love it!

  • looks like foo foo.

  • LOLOLOL!!! At least you were using your right hand! In your defence, it looks more like fufu than banku. Fufu seems way more difficult to shape into a scoop even for Ghanaians than the much sturdier banku or kenkey. At any rate, I'm inspired now to set a bucket of white cornmeal to fermenting and make a batch of banku and a pot of nkrakra soup. ;*}

  • it did and the funny thing is i'm ghanaian

  • this is the most adorable thing I have ever seen.

kudos to you for trying it though...

oh put a smile on my face.

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL THIS VID KILLS ME..I KNOW HE'S MAKIN LOOK DISGUSTING BUT I CAN TELL BY THE WAY HE'S EATING..HE'S ONLY USED TO FORKS AND KNIFES AND SPOONS..THAT'S WHY AND THE CAPS DOESN'T MEAN I'M YELLING..I'M JUST LAUGHING TOO MUCH

  • @accessgranted22 I'm glad my efforts entertained you. I did get better at eating banku during the rest of my stay in wonderful Ghana. : )

  • ur making it look disgusting when it s absolutely scrumptious!

  • lool he makes it look difficult

  • You are so silly. 0:5.lol Who said you could not use the fork. please use the fork? I visit Chinese restaurants, I do not know how to use the chop stick so I use the fork. Pleas always ask for a fork. I know, they will give it to you. Otherwise stop by my house and I would personally show you how to eat it. You made me hungry. peace

  • i knoe its slippery n all n u dont knoe how to eat it but u makin it not look good u should have gone with a ghanain tat knoes how to eat it

  • @05maafia This was my first mouthful. I had never seen anyone eat banku before. I got a lot better at eating it during the time I spent in Ghana.

  • @ls176dr did u go alone?

  • @05maafia I went with a small group including some from the BBC.

  • @ls176dr oh okay

  • you should try gambia too you will love it i promise

  • @220991749 Would love to visit Gambia.

  • So, when are you heading back to Ghana? I fell in love with the place back in 2005, have returned 5 times. It's a great place, oh, i love the Kabobs too. !! check out my videos of Ghana.

  • Ghanaian food is great once you get past the "squeamish factor". (I'm American, ha ha.)

The fish dishes in particular are awesome. (Though I didn't expect the head to still be attached!)

  • @Zonde32 I was learning.

  • obroni paaa lol

  • lol eww get a spoon or something.....it aint that easy

  • I'm so jealous. I'd like to try some :(

  • @jusitke07

    haha is nice still..

    where's u bout?

  • The mighty Black Stars should be in the semi-finals of the World Cup.

  • looool he cant even eat it loool

  • i like it so much wen my mum makes it shes a great cook

  • I know it's a copout but I just use a spoon to get some of the banku and a good amount of the stew....mmmmm ...so good!

  • dat is just funny

  • you know you can do better than that so why act as if you cannot do it.dont you know how to put food in your mouth?

  • that how u eat it

  • lol learn to eat :D

  • LOL

  • mmmmmmmm. i love banku and okra stew. one of my favorites. you making me want to go and get some right now. when are you going back?

  • As soonas possible! I loved it.

  • ahh newbies.. love em. just a tip guys.. its not too hard. try not to tilt your elbow so high up when eating , just relax. But anyways, its nice to see some of us get along. Sometimes being in the U.S. & gettin to know people u start to think that almost all white R racist, so its really nice to see this. peace & love always.

  • Thanks One4theworld. I did get much better at eating Banku. Loved it. Met so many nice people.

  • you're very welcome. Please tell me ur tru opinion of how banku n okro taste to u, and wat u thought of the 1st time u noticed the texture of the okro. & do u have any favorite dish of ghana? & please something besides jolloff rice.. that is way too international.. another version of fried rice altho a little different. speaking of jolloff rice, there is absolutely nothing like shishi of rice meaning the burnt or bottom part of rice.

  • :D :D

  • learn to eat okra properly you idiot. your a discrace to white people

  • Don't be cross. It was the very first time I'd ever tried to eat it. I was better by the end of that meal and much, much better by the end of the first week.

  • dont mind the idiot's (99man) comment above u. He's wat we call a typical dumbass (^_^)

  • lol he tried he tried :p

  • Look how he is eating my favorite food... I would kill it in 5 minutes!lol

  • hahahaha EPIC! Just like a baby learning to eat on his own...please wear him a bib next time.. the whole face and mouth are messy...LMAO.. good effort.

  • Since dis was your first try I'd say A- for the effort!!! it was funny though, it was like the okra was running away from you and u were chasing it. Im sure you were MUCH better the second time around :)) mad respect to you for showing mad love to Ghana!!

  • I do LOVE Ghana. Would like to be there now. : )

  • Would Ghana be safe for a woman on her own?

  • Of course Sugar, you can, Ghana is the most beautiful and flourished of the sub saharan African but remember, DO NOT GO TO NIGERIA ON YOUR OWN!!!!!!!!! Hell do not go there even if you had Putin himself with you, they will still extort you naked.

  • wow...you just reminded me why Africa will never be United. Yet I shall love all people through their ignorance and hate.

The food looked good and your efforts could be seen :) I wouldn't mind trading the snow in London for some of that African heat mmm.

  • yes you will be more than safe

  • im nigerian and i love fufu

  • dis ain't fufu bruv! its Banku a typical GHANAIAN Cusine fullstop.

  • Banku and okro soup..damn i miss Ghana! didnt like the schooling tho! I got whipped with tha cain for spelling mistakes =( Still its the food people and culture i miss.I cant decide whats my fav soup, okra, palm or peanut soup! but then again..Gha Kenkei (i dont like the ahanti kenkei at all) with PLEANTY of black shi-toh! Damit it im gonna start saving for my flight!!! But i hope i dont get 30 kids following me calling me "blofonyo blofonyo" all day like last time i was there!

  • lol.. u'r funny.. yea i pray the kids dont follow u sayin that, but eve so just take it with a smile, they mean no harm, its fun for them. & i agree on the kenkey. I preffer the ghanaian one, it has more flavor & i love the mysterious sourness u feel wen it gets to the corner of your tongue. My fave food has always been banku n okro, that stuff makes u feel sleepy after eating it. Save up n go. I'd suggest u even try gettin a simple home there.. way cheaper n wen u get a home it is urs.

  • damn u guys r makin the food luk disgustin

  • oyibo na mess, no be small

  • hahahaha abi u knw.

  • My Parents Are Ghanian But I Was Born In America.

    Its Not Hard At All Just Take Your Time And Yu Will Get Used Tu It;

  • Thanks, Will keep trying.

  • Its not a matter of taking your time, that will not help at all, you have to master it.

  • omg im ghanian and is it so hard? just open your mouth wide and put it in there. but omg that looks delicious howver.

  • It was only hard because I had never seen anyone eat it before. I learned quickly.

  • When are you going back to Ghana?

  • Not sure but would love to.

  • HAHHAH its nice 2 c a white person try but damn hes geetin it all ova his face

  • I just got back from Ghana in January (my first trip) and Banku w/ Okra soup was my favorite! I don't miss eating it with my hands however. =)

  • I was reading today that there was a carnival atmosphere in Ghana's capital, Accra, on the day of the inauguration of John Atta Mills as president. Would have loved to have been there.

  • oh my goddness.. after enjoying the gahanian food for almost one year i can tell you banku with okro, kenkey with pepper and fish and porridge (koko) is the best you can find over there. this food is just amazing... it is just fun to eat with your finger... sharing with your friends. i felt so lonely after returning .. you get used to it never eating alone!!

  • I'd love to go back and enjoy the hospitality that I found in Ghana - and the food too.

Hope the election gets sorted out quickly.

  • lol,aw that's so...sad. No, i'm kiddin' I'm a native, raised to eat with my hand, but I use a spoon most of the time now, even w/ fufu. Family thinks America has spoiled me. Lol. nice clip.

  • I would give you red card if i was there...you just messed up the food.

Where i come from we do not put fufu inside soup to eat, But it doesn't matter since the soup and fufu are still going doing the same place...

But with time you will learn how to eat it....Cheers!!
