  • Always a huge Sha Na Na fan. I met Bowzer years ago - very nice guy. He gave me an autographed glossy pic. A few years ago I emailed Denny (the black guy) he's a law professor now, I told him what a big fan I am and he responded!! Sha Na Na still performs, believe it or not - sans Bowzer of course. In fact, gonna see them in this February at Niagara Seneca Casino. Grease for peace!!!

  • ha-ha-ha-ha ! :)

  • According to Nancy Spungen's mother, Sha Na Na was the favorite program of Sid Viscous.

  • What the flying fuck?! This is BRILLIANT!!!!!

  • Shame about the stiff audience's member here and there! This group deserved a better reception for their fantastic performance!

  • This is one of them corny songs that get stuck in your head at work.

  • @Tanarus20

if you saw the original group perform this song you wouldnt claaify it as corny

  • @theaznlvr 19 "Lets Rock, see his dance?!?! lolz

  • Never tire of watching this one. Still makes me sing along.

  • WTF ?

  • Just good clean fun

  • Always thought Screamin' Scott Simon looked like a Jewish businessman.

  • @1bountifulinc The Jewish member of the group, believe it or not, is Jon "Bowzer" Bauman. I met him a few times (and his son too who also sings) and he gave me an autographed pic. I told him I'm his number one fan. He's the nicest guy you'd ever meet.

  • icky and spooky

  • Back again to get my fix. Up dancing and singing. Love this

  • when the guy in gold pulled out the eunuch vocals i snorted my tea every where! dam you you-tube dam you.

  • @theoverpopulated

Johnny Contardo can get his vice pretty damn high. Lol

  • @SGMJSexy freakin best tenor in the last 40 yrs along with such greats as Roy Orbison, Gene Pitney, Jay Black and Frankie Valli. Johnny is phenomenal.

  • @Tonithenightowl

Dude I know, Jhonny is my favorite member of the band.

  • This is hilarious. If I didn't know any better, I'd think this was some kind of parody.

  • The audience looks lke a Seniors bus trip to the casino that got lost and ended up at the Sha Na Na show instead.

  • @Rusfi16 the audience looks like a senior bus trip to the casino - WHAT FUCKING SENIORS DO YOU KNOW HAVE GOT MONEY TO GO THE FUCKING CASINO YOU FUCKING CUNT - GET OFF FUCKING YOU TUBE YOU FUCKING CUNT - SHA NA NA ROCK DA HOUSE - BIT PEDO LOOKING FOR MY LIKING BUT AWESOME

  • @Rusfi16 Hate to tell ya but that's how they filled the shows back in those days... unless a show became popular. I know my mom took me to a lot of these shows when I was a kid. This must have been in the first year the show was on before everyone wanted tickets. To this day in Los Angeles you can still request free tickets to tapings. Many times waiting in line to see a taping if they had a lot of people they would ask if you wanted to come view a new show being taped.

  • @hrhlauradi Actually now they pay people $8hr cash at the end to do audience work ;)

  • Here I sit - singing my head off. So love these boys.

  • If you don't like this, you're probably deaf.

  • @quirpco Or they probably are just "NOT WITH IT""

  • Just a feel good song and great to dance to. Kudos Sha na na for doing such a beautiful job.

  • best vid for a loooooooong time. Funny as can be, great artists back in the old good times

  • omfg i fucking looooove this sooooong!!!!!

  • For a skinny dude he has a deep voice lol

  • Bowser ownersss

  • it's pretty good but if a band came out in todays world and did this, they'd be laughed off the stage and be made fun of on every late night show in existance. those were the times back then!!

  • @crammin23 the music is still superior compared to today's garbage. We could use a little bit of cornball in a very unsettled world to lighten the freakin mood.

  • @Tonithenightowl I agree but I think Id be just a tad happier if it were the original by Huey Smith that re-gained big popularity. Im kinda picky like that :D

  • @torrentANONYMOUScodc I just listened to the original and it's got nothing on Sha na na's version. Guess its a matter of taste. Thanks for responding.

  • @Tonithenightowl

umm huey smith original way better than thois you just caught up in the video thing

  • @theaznlvr Guess its just a matter of taste. I prefer this version. Yes, the video is great, they didn't just sing a song, they entertained with comedy while doing so

  • @Tonithenightowl YOU GOT THAT RIGHT

  • @micmoableYou have to love this music to appreciate it. When someone performs it to this degree how can you not?

  • Love it!!

  • classics will never get old!

  • they were great

  • I remember this from the show and its wonderful to hear it again. These boys could sing.

  • I remember sitting at home and watching these guys. The whole house would sing along with them. Thanks for postings this song. :-)

  • wah, habat betul suara macam lembu la.........wahahaha......ah4 e-yo gooba4 ape tu........kelakar la.........wahahaha

  • oh i had the biggest crush on bowzer back then!

  • Reaaly cool! This is another song that brings back nice moments I spent at the Freemasons Pub, south London! I wish we could be closer nations, that way I could see again all my mates left in Britain! Cheers!

  • The audience needed a couple of drinks to get into it a bit more I suppose. Light-hearted not in your face entertainment is what this was though. I am glad I parked my browZer here for a couple of minutes.

  • they were pretty cool, as seeing them, being a kid..lol..

  • When I was a kid I loved watching Sha Na Na and Bowzer was my favorite. Now that I'm 43 and have revisited these videos, I can't take my eyes off Johnny Contardo. I no longer see what I did in Bowzer, ha ha. As a kid I never apprecited or realized the incredible talent of this guy! His voice just captivates me.

  • Exactly...if you don't like it, move the F on...why waste energy posting negative comments? I prefer to waste energy typing if there's something I like and want to rave about.

  • uptight white people love this shit...all i got to say is WTFFFFFFFFFF!?!?!?!

  • @ghettobrown209 I'll tell you WTF. This song was originally done by Huey 'Piano' Smith in the late 50's. Smith's music is New Orleans R&B, and his biggest hits also include "Sea Cruise" and "Rockin' Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu." Look him up and you will find that he is neither uptight (as you appear to be) nor white.

  • @ghettobrown209 Lighten up man. There's a place for everything. These guys could sing. Namaste

  • Bowser's my favorite bass guy(aside from Melvin Franklin from "The Temptations"

  • why are you so nit picky? sheesh over analyze everything just hush and enjoy the music

  • Lyrics: I can't lose with the stuff I use Don't you just know it Baby, don't believe I'm wearin' two left shoes Hey pretty baby can we go strollin' Don't you just know it Ya got me rockin' when I oughta be rollin' Baby baby you're my blue heaven Don't you just know it Ya got me pushin' when I oughta be shovin' Heart of mine just cool as a breeze Don't you just know it Young girls in trouble the tighter they squeeze Don't you just know it
  • Nope

    "The younger the couple

    The tighter they squeeze"

  • @JRussoBuffaloNY

Actually, I think the last line is "Younger the couple, the tighter they squeeze."

  • @AdKraemer I think you're right, thanx for the help. Take Care!

  • i like the orgnial song better by huey smith and the clowns

  • John Bowser looks just like my high School boy friend they could of been twins this was back in 1964 he was still in school and he was 4 years older then me but Dad didn't know how old he was or no way would my dad let me go out with him he also had a black jacket like John

  • I love you John Bowser Bauman!

  • It's Jon, since you love him :-)

  • Bowzer RULES!!!!!!!

  • I agree Bowzer was favorite one

  • very very very cool !!!

  • This song was featured in A Bronx Tale. Remember? the little kids were singing it and causing trouble

  • i love snatch for showing me this ridiculous song. i was stoned when i first heard it and it was just so catchy hahah

  • Sigh Johnny and Bowzer. Who doesn't love this?!

  • I love it! I love it! I freaking love it! Why oh why does it not come out on DVD???

  • OK How many of you watching this sang along with them? Be honest now.

  • @sirdavethewave71 I know I did

  • I totally do!!! LOL

  • I sang along! Oooh, I sang aloud loud and clear! Gooba Gooba Gooba Gooba!!!!

  • Of course Johnnys stands out!!

  • That's because Johnny is outstanding! :)

  • One brain, 2 mouths!!

  • holy fuck the guy in black shirt is crazy singer today he can be in a modern metal band =D

  • Bowzer......he did an infomercial

  • How far back was this? I love this!

  • Their TV show (which I think this is from) ran from 1977 to 1981. They were considered a 1950s revival act. I remember watching their show when I was a kid. This is before Chuck Taylor All Stars were all the rage. lol. I associated them only with Bowser on Sha Na Na.

  • AWESOME SONG^^

  • LMFAOROFLCAKES

  • Everytime I watch a Sha na na video, I think "I wish I was in the audience". These guys never let anyone down, they were the most fun ever!

  • I had to look for this song as soon as i saw the new TMNT smash-up TV ad XD

  • ha i watched that ad had the bowzer dude in it and i found this viedo but later after that tmnt smash up game came up i had to find it again

  • @abridgedcentral: I love the Commercial for TMNT smash-up.

  • Mo way man - bowser is the best!!!

  • there is talk of a reunion but some would have to lose weight.

  • I know everyone has an opinion and a right to let it be known - BUT- you have put down Sha Na Na and especially JC constantly, if you don't like them - why don't you watch something else? Questioning their weight, sexual orientation, ethnic background, etc seems a bit foolish and immature - these guys are talented and alot of fun. They bring back alot of Good memories for us fans.

  • Well said! Don't worry, the one making rude comments is probably a scrawny computer geek who's never been with a real woman, and he's just jealous because Johnny's so perfect!!!

  • Damn the audience doesn't look so happy. What is wrong with them. I would be the only happy one there. People are fuddy duddy's sometimes.

  • I would sing this louder if I didn't have a husband or a puppy here trying to sleep.

  • This was my favorite show when I was little. I was so sad when it wasn't on anymore. I love Sha Na Na... they rock, and should have a reunion.

  • WOW! I see that Boozer guy put on a few.. i see him selling oldies C Ds at late nite....

  • I met bowzer on a cruise 10 years ago. Totally cool guy.

  • It's Bowzer not "Boozer"

  • LMFAO!!

  • wow so fun I like it make me laugh really wow !...

  • I watched this when it originally aired and sang along with Sha Na Na and my friend Kelly [one of our old neighbors when we briefly lived in Baltimore City in the early 70s] walked downstairs and saw me and I was rightly embarassed!! The problem was I can sing now [I sing karaoke every week] but I couldn't back then!!

  • Don't You Just Know It -

Huey "Piano" Smith & The Clowns

    (Original recorded on 45 rpm)

One of best New Orleans music from 1957 to 1960.

  • They met at columbia univ. in ny. the leftwing liberal hippies didnt like sha na na cause they refused to bash america or our military veterans,Way to go guys.

  • Boy, I wish I could have been in the audience that night. What great fun!

  • piece of dolboebs) With love from russia ;-)
