Lume Comparison: Rolex DeepSea Sea-Dweller/Seiko Orange Knight

No one would compare 8k over rolex to under 1k seiko. Rolex = seiko ananta. Grand Seiko is so much better than any rolex. Hand assembled accurate and reliable time piece. Buy GS now. Its underpriced now. Really great time to buy a good quality watch.

the only thing i didnt like about the seiko is the fact that the second hand was off 30 seconds in the dark because the lume on the sec. hand is on the back end of the second hand bad idea if you are running out of air.

The only point of having a lumed seconds hand is to let the diver know that the watch is still running in low-light conditions. If your dive watch STOPS, you are in trouble. Which end the lume is on is not important as you time to the minute when down, not the second. Further, the watch only times how long you have been underwater and how long you have to decompress on your way up, not how much air you have.

@shanebickleytile If you're cutting it anywhere that close on air pressure where the second hand would be would be the last thing you'd be wearing a diver's watch for.

The Seiko's lume is much better.

Have you seen the watch company "Ball"? Their illuminated indices are fantastic. They use different colors for the illumination of the hands, the dial and the bezel. They really look great.

@KeepTheTime Of course the rolex is better! Nobody is gonna take the Seiko over the Rolex when is comes to buying a watch! One just has a little more illumination but thats about it!
