Wow thats amazing you have a very beautiful voice aswell, i want to move there when im done college... but do majority of people speak english? cause if not im screewed then xD :)
@amberoonie101 English is spoken everywhere in Ireland. A few places where the language is still Gaeltacht, but Galway is so beautiful and has such a great vibe. Go for it.
@adamcrawford17 It's Gaeilge and although Irish students complain about Irish class there's a whole load of those complainers who'd harshly teach you what happens to people like you who say such things. We hold a grudge pretty well so don't give us reasons to have a grudge against you.
@baboolinus I think it's a beautiful language =) I want to learn Irish Gaelic myself. I was born her in the US but my grandfather was Irish, of the name O'Carroll and my husband was an O'Neal.
Rath De Ort my friend. ( I know it has a hyphen above the e but didn't know how to put it there) lol...
Bhíomar leath-shlí tríd nuair a d'oscail an spéir Níos déanaí ins an lae. Agus rith muid síos chuig an árasán Chomh bog an lae i-ay. Agus n'fheadar liom, Cad a thiocfaidh orm. Lena gruaig chomh dubh Is a súile gorm. Ach thóg mé a lámh. Thug mé rince di, Agus phóg mé cailín na Gaillimhe.
Bhuel de thug mé cos ar an siúlóid mhór Thart ar lár an lae Is de bhuail mé le cailín breá dathúil Agus thosaíomar ag plé. Agus n'fheadar liom, Cad a thiocfaidh orm. Lena gruaig chomh dubh Is a súile gorm. Ach thóg mé a lámh. Thug mé rince di, Agus phóg mé cailín na Gaillimhe.
seriously, how is gaelic a pile of balls? it takes brains and intelligence to speak more than one language. i take it you only speak english because people who are bilingual tend not to be as narrow minded as you. :)
Great job! I'd love to be able to speak the language but I'm afraid my strengths are in spanish and french and not irish... or is it gaelic?? Anyway great job!!
I agree with baboolinus. You're pretty good. Sadly some Irish people may not like you too much for what your ancestors did. Mostly up North though so mainly you'd be very welcome in Ireland since you even bothered to learn the language. Why not come on Holiday? Ireland's full of nice places.
In that case :) I accomplished what I set out to do :)
Thanks ;)
It really is a beautiful language, I have a few Irish friends but other than that I have no connection to the place. I just simply learned the song/words phonectically which is probably even more time consuming than learning the basics of the language lol :)
How many people speak this language in Ireland? Is it Gaelic? I think its great when people try and retain their own identity Cornish, Welsh etc. I realise you dont speak it just wondered if you knew that and where its mostly spoken.
