Interesting nerdy fact: The heads in the early puppet series were large as they contained the solenoid system that operated the mouths (they reacted to the voice of the performer). By the time of Captain Scarlet, not only was the system smaller, they fit them in the bodies instead of the heads, so that's why the proportions could be more realistic.

I had the SPV with the rocket that fired from the front when you pressed the front wheels, tracks at the back and the drivers door which sprung open from the side when you pressed the top button!! I got it for my 5th birthday all those years ago and thought it was just brilliant!! Happy times :-)

I loved captain scarlet, thunderbirds n stingray growing up but captain scarlet was quite creepy for little kids, i mean the mysterons were pretty creepy killing people n replacing them

I thinkt he theem is a lot bttr as a piece fo music than Thunderbirds but Thunderbirds has the addictive countdwn which makes 4 a good tv show theme song
