al qaeda has been defeated in Iraq, and al-sadr is demilitarizing his faction as well, so olbermann and the leftists were wrong in predicting our defeat. meanwhile, obama wants to send more troops to afghanistan, and possibly invade pakistan. hardly a peaceful policy.

the only reason gas prices could go down under a dem administration is that they would quietly ease restrictions on drilling. you see, they are hoping that people won't notice that they are opposing such a move until after the election, to make it look like they saved the day. fortunately, 2/3rds of the nation want drilling now, and they know it is being blocked by the dems. i hope the democrats continue their obstinate stance on this issue all the way to their defeat in november.

I think McCain's been fairly clear that he supports the troop surge in Iraq. What some other conservative thinker said (I did not understand if KO meant McCain said it, or some other guy did. He implied both)

First. KO's comments about McCain are confusing. McCain did not clearly state that it would be either foreign or

domestic troops. He said troops would be freed up from Iraq (implying US troops) and also mentioned working with the allies. Remember, the British troops will be leaving by the end of year, so that could imply foreign troops.

2nd. Obama continues in his proud tradition of ignoring the generals. MacArthur was speaking publicly in press conferences about the poor quality of Truman's plans. The generals that Bush "pushed aside" gave their advice, but were disregarded.

Obama is not ignoring the generals, he will change what is going to happen based on the facts on the ground. If you look at what Obama has said for the last 16 months you will see this. Obama also has been one of the big guys helping the troops back home. He was one of the first people behind the new GI bill, McCain for the longest time wanted to kill it. The New GI bill was a really good idea and McCain wanted to kill it. You tell me that McCain is so behind the troops?
