I would've stuck with pain split, in the 2nd generation, psywave is wayyy too risky in a scenario like that. Then again, his strategy carried him to victory, so I can't really dis it.

If he would have pain-splitted the Muk, the video would look boring because of a lack of variety of events. It would just be Pain Split after Pain-Split and then finish it off with an attack move. Match over, he wins.

No, this is a rival that's programmed into the game. I think once you reach the final level of Prime Cup, a Mew will appear, and once you beat him, you will get Mew as one of your rental Pokemon.

I find that a Haunter who learns Destiny Bond works really well against Stantler on the fourth person. Why? Because, instead of Hypnosis, Stantler will use Earthquake (since Haunter is a Ghost/Poison type and Poison is weak against Ground moves) and it will immediately knock Haunter out and Stantler since Destiny Bond attacks first and if Haunter faints, so will Stantler.

I can't beat this guy... his mew is too powerful. I tried what u did, pain split with misdreavus, but he either kills me, or.. if im down to the lowest pain split hp i can get to, even my shadow ball won't take him out. its impossible to beat him... unless u have really, really good luck with crits.

yeah i know, he is near impossible, it took me several tries to beat his Mew, although, the way i used Misdreavous just made it look cake, but no, it is very hard indeed, you must try find a good tactic that works for you when you challenge him, and if you cant succed, try wobbofett, it has defensive moves,

i havent tried him, but he works in most cases.

Umbreon against Mew, Hitmonchan against Ursaring and Skarmory against Muk. It was a bit of luck, though. Enemy critical hits never showed up, and i'm happy they didn't. :D
