Look, If you got a bite from any human there would be quite a lot to deal with. Rats will only bite when utterly terrified (when we pose any threat which is very common as we are a lot bigger), they always run away and frankly it's the humans who put out so much garbage unwittingly to attract them who are at fault. I think rats are much maligned. I am sure they are bright and have far fewer faults than us ( I am a human and not a rat typing this!). AND they giggle and play games. So there!!!!!!!

Moscow has lots of homeless dogs running all over the city. There's even one that scouted around the subway there. People think they're cute and leave them alone. I think they are cute too.....at the moment!
When TSHTF, may be another matter. Those dogs are large, hungry and intelligent.
@BelleRiche why would sombody get scared of a mouse?, they are literally harmless i own 3 as pets and they are actually tameable they are alot more tameable than hamsters anyway thoes bastards bite.

These fleas were on horses as well, but people did not want to get rid of their horses because they were too expensive, that is why the plague continued even though a lot of rats were killed.
I think all these diseases were caused by humans and they blamed it on the first thing they didn't like the rodents. Many people do love rodents though. To contract all these diseases you would have to drink rat urine or ingest rat feces or have urine and feces come in contact with a cut on your hand. How likely is that?

Firstly, Rat fleas are only transfered among themselves and not humans. Furthermore, Wild rats do not carry the plague. When rats catch the plague, they die from it. Period. They are not to be blamed for the Bubonic Plague. It was actually the mosquitos who transfered it to humans. This has been proven. I am a fancy rat lover and have been for all of my life.
