The feeling hit me like a point-blank shot straight in the face... Something was not right about this. My Beretta stirred nervously under my coat... but the train doors had already shut behind me, and I was in for the ride... Next stop: Roscoe Street Station, and Alex. - Same lake are awsome!!!
I like this dialogue the most when Max catches Don Punchinello. He says- "Punchinello was trying to buy more sands for his hourglass. But I wasn't selling any."
@Super123prashant I like the one where he talks about apocalypses being subjective and the other one where he found out that they deliberately put the drug addicts near his house.
This writing and gritty narration is brilliant. In fact it's the lack of these intense noire overtones that made the movie such a let down for fans of the games. :\
i always remember one quote for this game, 'It was colder than a walking fridge cold as my gun' what a Classic game. Max Payne 1 was the best , Storyline, Game play and Dialogue.
1:44 is the only part of the game i hate (cheesey as hell), but i love the rest. i love max's voice it's so gritty, and half the things he says sound like dark metaphors but also quite literal.
i had just gotten my 15 mins of fame!! hahhahahahaha this is the best game! i still playin some times even the graphics are obsolete but the story rocks!!!
I've played it on the pc and ps2 and completed it nearly 40 times (nope, not joking) and the aesir bonds monologue is in the bank robbery level, you have to open the vault thats across the one carrying the detonators.
BTW I've seen so many different looking people from Ireland and Scotland that I think Max would just about fit the description of any country which has caucasian people in general. So I'll just settle for Finnish-American... : )
i have played this on computer and on ps2 and beaten it at least 3 times. but this version of the graphic novel is slightly different than i ever heard, but very very close. loike i dont think aesir corp bonds were never mentioned in the graphic novel in either version i played.
"Honey I'm home"..........man thats probably the happiest we've heard Max the entire series. Nothing but pain and suffering from that moment forward.......
@fleetwoodsucks this is the game that got me into hard-boiled noir detective stories too, I can give u some examples: "murder my sweet" is a pretty good movie, also "touch of evil" and "the maltese falcon" which is one of my favourites and also "the big sleep". On the other hand if your not as into black and white movies as I am there are some pretty good neo noir titles like "Dark Blue", "Chinatown" or "Brick"
Frank Miller should have watched this, had an orgasm and made it into a better film than John Moore did... Still I think it's great simply left as a game franchise. Greed often corrupts art in my experience. I still find Max's "Nooooooo!" pretty funny :) I think the voice actor, James McCaffrey, forgot he was expressing his horror and despair upon discovering his fictional wife and baby dead and smeared in blood, not realising the New York Jets had lost a game...

what a fine example of how NOT to animate a comic, or even how to direct the illustration. And the script? audo OR worded. Least ya havin a go?.. No not really
Oh I don't know, the narration fits the storyline just right. As for the game itself, yes, to bad my current PC want's nothing to do with playing the game. :,-(

i just have to get this out of my chest!
I like a lot of action games, story is a big part for me, and else but really this graphic novel is one of the shittiest ones i ever seen on another thing i don't really know max payne true story but if it is a normal cop going bad because of revenge of her wife getting killed it's going to be kinda boring to me, when i saw the movie the point of twisting the story to a more fictional way made it interesting and more original.
you people might have misunderstood my last comment, i didn't rant some bullshit of hate or something against the game or movie like some of you are! I just gave my opinion of the graphic novel, this novel is real crap and another thing, i know the movie isn't what the fans expected but the twist they gave to the movie was real creative and interesting, the game story is real normal and general, of course some facts like Luda and the latino guy where bad but still the movie was well made.
Why am I so pissed? It happens all the time, but damn they really neutered it, and just made their own story.
Why'd they target a general audience? I loved how this was another one of rockstars target to adults. Finally, at the time along with GTA 3 - A breakthrough.
not really... it doesn't follow the story of the game at all. Sure it's based around valkyr, but there is no italian mobsters, Puncinellos and Jack Lupino is freaking latino. It's watchable, but if you have played the game you're probably going to hate it
The should of used him as one of Punchinello's trio there was actually a black guy in the trio and that's it.. I like when they match up characters
BTW I havent seen the movie and I dont want to give them a single dollar they used the max payne name and made a cheap movie for a quick buck thats my opinion..
Worst game-to-movie film ever. And I usually like Mark Wahlberg. There's only 10 seconds of bullet time in the whole movie, and it's thrown in at a completely random spot. I'm glad I got it on torrent and didn't waste money on a cinema ticket.
the only bit that came near to bullet time in my memory was the bit where a guy with a machine gun comes out behind him and for some reason misses him with like 8 shots, and when mark looked like he was going to dive backwards aqnd blow him away el max payne, it just ended up looking like mark had tripped and fallen on his ass, accidentally shooting the guy behind
I like to PC version of Max Payne too.
