Over all, i wish she had never entered the palace, as Prince Mustafa was an excelent stateman to be, very well educated, brave intelligent , all statesmen and jannissaries loved him and if he would get to the throne instead of Hurrems incompetent son Selim II, Ottoman decline wouldnt have started. Hurrem also used her influence on Suleyman, involving Russia and Poland ,which caused him to neglect Caucasus, which later  had devestating efect on Ottoman as Russia got stronger in the region

but how can you know what was inside her soul? From where do you know that she was ugly inside.

Think, Sultan had so many women around him, almost the best from all the places where Turkish emissaries could reach. So do you really think that the man known to be one of the greatest Turk leaders was stupid and "blind" enough to choose one of his most loved women the one who is "so ugly on the inside"

@SuperDubios Oh I hope you learn history from serious books, not from TV shows ;) Because if you do, than I think you should know that in those times (as well as in present) men in Poland as well as Russia,had only one wife, so for her as the simple girl from the small town on the edge of Poland all the situation in the TopKapi palace was unnatural,so she just was trying to adopt it to her vision when she will be the only woman of the man whom she loves.And she has reached success in the result.

@SuperDubios Neither me nor you were there in those times, so I think it is not fair to judge who was more or less innocent than others. And as far as I remember son and khalif were judged to death because of the attitude to the plot against sultan. Maybe real picture of it was exaggerated by Roxelane but if there had been no evidences and proof of such attitude at all than, I think, Hurrem could have lost her head for lie agains sultans eldest son. Am I wrong?

@Als25ua Proof for her conspiricies may have not been as clear to Suleyman in those days,as she was clever and had aides in court,but they are evident now and historians have a consensus on this.Its clear she conspired to kill crown prince Mustafa cooperating with Rustem Pasa (her daughters husband and grand vizier).Not once ,many times.And Not only him, she also had a hand in the killing of Ibrahim pasa (grand vizier prior her son-inlaw) who was a good statesmen and prince Mustafa's supporter.

@voodooo88 because I have rarely seen historian (especially in the countries which tended to be super forces of their time ) who wrote that the problem of the country was brought because of local imperfections, almost all trying to find outer enemies, which is not hard, the more you've got, the more enemies around. As for Hurrem rest assured that villagers daughter had nothing in her mind about powerhunger, it was just the fight for her man and her son, which may be was used by others,who knows

@Als25ua Although her roots disputable, but theres evidence she considered herself Polish (Ukrain was part of Polish Kingdom in those days), thus parts of the song (where she exresses her feelings) is in polish.Actually she is hated here, for she was the the most vicious and powerhungry woman of the Ottoman Dynasty, who was famous for her conspiricies (like conspiring to bring about the killing of crown prince to make her son the King and she had detrimental efect on the Ottoman Empire

Roxelana (Hürrem Sultan) was wife of the Süleyman the Magnificent (Ottoman emparor) and there is a common view that she was very effected to her husband and the Turkish empire rised succesfully. Meantime, it's a perfect song :)

Yes, she was (one of his) the legal wife of Suleyman the Magnificent and "greatly affected" her husband. But the process was not finished by rise of the empire, vice versa; Roxelana finished the empire by cheating about her very own children to make him crown prince, meanwhile she proceed a plan and killed the other (and real) crown prince (kid) by blind executioners.
