to be honest to sounds like the hydrolic tappets that are worn you cannot adjust them like the pinto engine you have to replace the lot they dont usually go wrong but in your case they have
@jamie88694 Well many cvh engines i've seen have been nasty and rattly like that and apart from the one in that car have caused me excessive trouble. It kept going for quite a while. But that car is long gone, still going i think, but i don't have it anymore. I also rarely use this account these days, hence the long delay in replying
Still miss mine, same colour, but with factory smoked rear lights, ABS and discs all round. A J reg. Had it for years and it never broke down. Mine just started making a loud noise after 110,000miles, then the engine wouldn't run again - so it was scrapped about 7 years ago! Comfortable, well built and took a few knocks. I love the suspension and ride quality compared to modern cars that bang over every bump in the road. I would love something of similar quality now!
loved my sierra when had it.dad liked it so he had it of me.lol.im on the llok for another in 1.8 form.whoever dnt like the cvh shudnt drive fords.in my opinion like.if u treat it rite it will never let u dwn.stupid easy to repair aswell.
Another thing with these R2A versions of the CVH is a noise that sounds like a worn cam. Sometimes its the underside of the piston broken, so the small end is only being located by one side of the piston! Be warned!
I've had a few CVH Sierra's now, i know loads of people dont like em cause they aint powerful and can be a bit rattly they're still a damn good engine! I have a saff similar to that now but mine's a Diesel
To say they're not powerful is an understatement. I dont like them, they're gutless and i find them fiddly, but they do put up with a lot more than people give credit for. that car was cheap and worked well. Cheaper insurance and tax than my V6 omega that was my well abused and knackered daily at the time too so i bought it. Much prefer pintos and V6s in sierras myself. Would love another TD sierra but will be waiting a while
Where you from?
