I did this almost 9 yrs ago when I moved to Alaska. My first day in AK (Haines Jct.) was MINUS 57 degrees! Brrrrr!!! Certainly made me want to turn around and go back!
The coldest I've seen here in Fairbanks was in 2004, when it hit -55F and I actually took a photo of the Fred Meyer temperature billboard. :) I don't care.. anything below -25F and it's just about impossible to do anything outside, except goofy experiments!
when it gets that cold, can u tell the difference between say -20F and -50F?...like u can tell the difference when it's warm..say +50F compared to +80F..but when it's that cold, it's basically all the same right?..once it drops to a certain point, it's just simply unbearable huh?..that's what i heard from various people..the cold fastinates me..i live in NJ..right now it's 15F with -1 windchill..i always wanted to see what -50 feels like..gotta be ridiculous
