  • What camera did you use to do this? very good camera!

  • Casio Exilim EX-F1 Pro

  • @ryukenosuke wow thats a really good camera! i'll have to look into getting that!

  • It's expensive. They stopped making it, so it is even more expensive, now. I've plans to purchase a Phantom high definition professional high speed camera in the future. I'd like to use what the professionals use and truly make something out of these random youtube videos of mine.

  • @ryukenosuke hey you should sell me the old one! just kidding...

  • I promise to extort you. Lol

  • @ryukenosuke ha lol. so just wondering....im new to butterfly knives, like 2 days new, and ive just been taping the blade to not cut myself. i just wanted to know, how bad does it hurt when you get cut? stupid question.....thanks tho merry xmas!

  • Getting cut is actually pretty difficult. If you're practicing with a razor sharp blade, then not as difficult, but at an average sharpness, letting the sharp edge tap your skin won't even leave a mark (unless you slide skin across it). It's like a paper cut if you get a small knick. It'd hurt more if you consciously cut yourself, because you expect it. However, unexpected knicks are just surprises instead of pain.

  • @ryukenosuke great thanks and one more thing, sorry, ive been looking for a cheapish balisong, like 50 bucks or less, and i was concidering the Bear 114 Armor Piercing and i was wondering if you knew anything about those; are they good or just crap? i know bear is a nice brand for the price. or would a jaguar be a better fit for the price? thanks!

  • Unfortunately, I don't know about brands. I purchased this balisong for $10 from a friend, and my other balisong was just $15 from a local knife shop. Cheap and easy to practice with.

  • THAT TEACHER'S A SPAH!

  • "THAT TEACHER'S A SPAH!"

    6_o ...what?

  • @ryukenosuke Team Fortress 2 reference. There is a spy class that wields a butterfly knife.

  • Oooooooh yea! I just didn't correlate "spah" with "spy." Lol

  • I think you mean the Philippines. ^_^

  • Genius invention.

  • Greatest toy I have found, yet, for the person who sits idle at his desk with nothing else to do. Lol

  • Umm I'll just stick to shieth knifes thank you it Prevents me from having to tango with the knife and my

    Fingers

  • Hahaha, well said. I would never use a balisong for anything more than opening letters and entertainment. Like you, I prefer sheathed knives as well.

  • I just cut myself lol

  • Ouch, but it happens. ^_^

Try to remember to hold on to the handle without the locking latch on it.

  • @xDarkJJx Ever thought of buying a "trainer"?

Ya know, a blunt one to practice with?

    12.50$ off Amazon!

  • @EpicSonicProductions I often practice with a bottle opener I have shaped like a balisong :P

  • If it opens in the same manner as a balisong, then it's a great way to practice. Also, you can pick up a balisong pen from thinkgeek [dot] com

  • lol i am the 8008 viewer lol boob= 8008

  • @silvercoincollecter ...oh dear...

  • what if the knife is double edged

  • Then I probably wouldn't have bought that knife. ^_^

If it is double edged, you'll want to consider other methods for opening or flipping your balisong that don't rely on bouncing the dull edge off the back of your knuckles. For example, a simple latch drop doesn't rely on it. Also, if you're adamant about learning this, you can practice slowly to avoid bouncing the blade. Just slow down the blade's inertia before it hits your skin.

  • Looks cool, but is there any possibility of getting cut (while doing it the proper way of course)?

  • Only when closing it. If your knife is ridiculously sharp, and you some how close your fingers around it when the blade is down, but the swinging handle hasn't yet come to a stop, there could be a chance you'll get your fingers between the handle and the sharp edge of the blade. It's rare, and as long as you don't slide your fingers across that edge, you're typically fine.

Just make sure the handles come together completely before you close your grip around them.

  • OMFG OBVIOUSLY SPED UP. (trolling)

  • Hahahaha

  • why is this so pretty in slow motion? makes it look like an art.

    i want one. :|

  • Hehe, go buy one, then. ^_^ There are some very cheap ones. For example, the one in this video cost me just $10.

  • @ryukenosuke where did you get this for $10?

  • the slow mo for this is great i just got one and i can follow each step not like the ones that have rely crapy cameras

  • That's really cool.

  • Thanks. ( :

  • That looks so easy. Is it easy to learn that?

  • Sure is. I used to practice while sitting at my computer chatting on instant messaging programs.

  • very helpful dude!

    thanx.

  • Sure thing. ( :

  • ryukenisuke, you can look it up on youtube, type in "the punisher the russian" and watch that scene. also "punisher butterfly knife" that one's like 5 sconds but, more worried about first one thanks.

  • I totally agree with IndianaJoel93, I've been l

looking for a tutorial for how Tom Jane did in the Punisher, just watched in last night, my favorite movie. Thanks

  • Again, I need to watch this movie...but I'm too poor to buy it. c( :

  • @ryukenosuke download it :P

  • Huh? Download what?

  • @ryukenosuke the movie. you said you can't afford buying it. download it then.:)

  • Oh, no no no no. I'm a firm believer in purchasing things. As an artist and producer of my own works, I know how annoyed I'd be if people downloaded and copied my stuff without me getting any credit or royalties for it.

  • @ryukenosuke download it for now and if you like it buy the dvd to support them. not that hollywood needs support but if you believe you should buy it..

  • Nah, I'd even feel bad about that. I do my best not to download anything illegally.

  • @ryukenosuke hey what brand is the knife and where did u buy it plz reply

  • I don't know what brand the knife is, and I bought it from a friend many years ago. If knives have an economy brand, I'm sure this is the most basic of the economy brand. hehe

  • when you say the cheap ones get looese, is that a bad thing?

  • I'd really say it's up to your own preference. They make great practice balisongs. I prefer mine to be a little loose so it will flow easier. It also makes more clanky noise as I play with it, which I like.

  • do that thing thomas jane did in the punisher

  • Hmmm, I'll have to watch that scene to learn it.

  • mine also makes a clinky clacking noise

  • do the cheap $10 or $15 knife break? cause i want to get one of these, but i heard the cheap ones break from opening them alot

  • Mine haven't broken, but they will get pretty loose. If the model you get has adjustable bolts to tighten and loosen them, I'd suggest putting some kind of locktite on them when you get them to the looseness you want.

  • Comment removed

  • that looks scary, but fun! ^_^

  • It's easier than it looks. This is why I enjoy it so much. It looks impressive, but there is little skill involved.

  • Ha ha! Sounds like something I would do!

  • lol nice u changed it

  • Well of course. ^-^ I'm not one of those people who have too much pride to admit he was wrong. Thanks, again, for the title of this maneuver.

  • no problem. that looks like a pretty nice knife. where did u get it?

  • Bought it for $10 at a local mall. I prefer my other one that I got for merely $15. It's stainless steel with carbon fiber grips. This black gripped one is simple stainless steel and aluminum grips (I believe)

  • what was the store name? or what mall?

  • Collin Creek Mall. There's a little store that sells oriental items including weaponry. It's here in Texas.

  • buddy its called a basic horizantal

  • Oh, right. Thx. ( :

  • Oooooh!! :D

  • Yep, it's fun.

  • auricularly exercised ? ^^

  • Lol, actually...when learning this, I did use my hearing to match up the "klink" sounds when compared to the old video I watched that taught this maneuver. ( ;
