in my opinion it was quite a need of nintendo to drop their prices on the wii because if you're talking about long term, the ps3 and xbox 360 is selling a lot more units now and if nintendo doesnt do much about the wii then thats gonna be pretty bad. also sony released the ps3 slim thats only 300$ and a lot of people are buying that and microsoft found out and dropped their prices on the xbox 360 elite.

from what ive heard, sony has been working on a motion control concept since before the wii was announced, it seems to me maybe nintendo developed theirs a little too quickly. Having bought a Wii at launch, i can honestly say after awhile i was unimpressed with the motion controls... the PS3 motion control looks to be better or atleast on par with it.
Nintendo has been working on the wii since the game cube was released. As for the motion controllers, sony's seems more accurate. However, keep in mind that theirs uses the eye toy to pint point the position of the controllers while the wiimote and nunchuck do the motion sensing on their own.

I have a wii and a ps3 just in case you want to know and I have great game for each system. Just as an example, I have CoD4 on the ps3 and The Conduit on the wii. Story? MGS4 and Muramasa: The Demon Blade.
I really want to get the Wii, because they have the best version of Resident Evil 4. I still wish they called the Wii "Revolution" which what they originally had in mind for it.
It only means one thing a new console to go along with the great new 3ds
