  • where do you live in Wisconsin?

  • get aluminum frame sliders with pure titanium bolts. no-cut frame sliders are usually shit too, dont waste your time...

  • high speeds frame slidders are not much of help... I know my cbr had them and it grinded down to the fairing and i was only doing 50mph

  • Hyperflo is designed just for Honda, and its the best....nice bike btw =]

  • jardine is designed for hondas

  • slider???? is important in track crash

  • Added frame sliders last month.

  • what 600 cc bikes can you get crash cages and/or frame sliders for?

  • You can get them for all the japanese sportbikes. I have not put on any yet....but will consider.

  • really? I did not know that. Where?

  • What do they all require at road america as far as gear? And how much is it to do that? Im not to far from there and ill be getting a new '09 this spring.

  • I am not an expert on the Yoshi exhaust...but I'm sure it is good I agree that I would hope the fuel system mod should add more HP than the 4 HP the exhaust system will add. Let me know what you end up doing. I'm going to add a fuel system to my bike this spring.

  • akrapovic is recommended for hondas

  • .....if not, I'm not getting it. unfortuneatly the yoshi staff is out of office till jan 5th so looks like I have another week or so to drool and debate. what do you think?

  • so I found a web site that sells the yoshimura full system for $700, they also sell power commanders and claim they will set it up for my bike and the exhaust for free, plus free shipping! so sounds like I might be getting that soon. I was looking on the yoshi web site and found their dyno numbers...the full system with the insert taken out showed 110hp versus the 106 stock....I'm hoping thats without fuel system modification...aka the power commander.

  • Yes, they are the stock dunlops. Plan to change for next summer.

  • what tires are those? they look like the stock dunlops that came on my sv

  • The California Superbike School was here this summer, I am hoping they come again next year. Its not cheap but I would like to do a few track days with their instructors. I have heard great things about that program.

  • mid-ohio is about 30 min from me so I'm hoping to spend a good bit of time out there next season. what fluids did you run? tires? any suspension changes?

  • I have run with the NESBA group on the track. I'm sure they sponser track days at Mid OHIO. If you are in the beginner or intermediate group you can run with your OEM fluids. If you move up to the advanced level, you must run water. I run stock tires but will switch to a tire that is better at the track but still can be used on the road such as Pirelli Diablo Corsa III. I had my suspension adjusted at the track by Turn One. They did a great job. I may consider a rear suspension upgrade.

  • I'm going to do a full exhaust, air filter, and re-map the fuel system with a 93 octane map and a 110 map for race gas. I'm hoping to be pushing 130hp with all that but I'm not sure how much difference the gas will make. At that hp I should easily hit the rev limiter in top gear, hopefully the top speed will be limited by gearing not horse power. we shall see.

  • I have a two brothers clip on exhaust and plan to due add a power commander or juice box this winter. The two brothers exhaust added a little HP, but a full exhaust and air filter with a re-map is the way to go. I'm hoping for 118 HP with just the exhaust and power commander.

  • I've seen 165 on mine bone stock, but that was with endless running room....aka top speed. do you run race gas on the track or just regular high octane?

  • I run on 93 octane premium gas. I wish the track had just a slightly longer straightaway to get me to 165+ mph. I hit the track last Monday in 37F weather and had plenty of room to go faster, but I limited myself due to the turns. I hit 155mph and was at 13K rpms.

  • The Power Commander III will probably add about 2 - 3 Hp over just the pipe alone. Wait for the PC-V - due out soon, it's better as it is closed loop unlike the PCIII which is open loop. Don't waste your money on a Two Brothers juice box - they are a piece of crap. Nice choice on the Two Bro's pipe, they are the best for sound at least and they don't lie about their dyno numbers like some of the others do. Love the Honda 600rr 07~08' models are the best out of the box race bike money can buy!

  • Thanks for the advice. I'll wait for the PC-V. I agree...definately the best out of the box race bike money can buy!! Fun and fast on the track and nice in town also.

  • Nice rr man! Wish I could go to RA. Too far away though for a Cali boy like me :(

  • Zzz...

  • Dunlap Qualifier's are great street tires. They actually won an award. It's a track for the guys hating. My friend put Pirelli Dragons on his bike for the track and he loves them. He said you notice the difference instantly. I'm jealous Cbrskisnow. You only got 160 out of it? You got ugraded filter, power commander etc?

  • I ended up hitting 162 mph in the main straightaway. The bike still had more to go, but I start braking a little early to give me some extra time for the 1st turn. I also need to hit the turn into the beginning of the straightaway at a higher speed. Also, the straightaway has an uphill change in elevation. I still need to upgrade the tires, filter, and add a power commander. If you get a chance you have to try a track day. The bike runs smooth at 160 and is fun in the corners. Thanks!

  • Ok I was getting worried. My friend said he got 171 on his 2006 RR. My friends went to the track labor day. I wanted to go but money is tight. Their going to the Pocono Track the 20th of this month. Hopefully I'll have some extra cash by then.

  • If you do go to the track, my recommendation is to take it easy in the corners and take your time before you try to push it. Many track days will have six 20 minute sessions through out the day. You will feel more comfortable by the end of the day at driving fast, but will be tired. I skipped my last 20 minute session to be safe. It is a blast to be able to ride the bike fast in a controlled environment. I think 170 mph is very possible on a longer straightaway.

  • hey man finally got back into Louisiana and the bike totally rips! with the two bros and PC USB III. I haven't had a chance to find out what the top speed is at this elevation but I'm thinking 170 could be possible.

  • Thanks for the update. I plan to put on the 2 bros juice box and hope to have it before my next track day later this month.

  • Hmm very interesting that you said you hit 162 and the bike still has more to go? I don't see that happening unless you add a bigger sproket. I have a 2008 600rr with K&N, TwoBros, and Power Commander USB III which is not street legal and I was redlined at 162. I'm 6'2 and weigh 195. Currently in Nevada so maybe the weight and thinner air have something to do with that. Definitely more power throughout the powerband than a stock 08 600rr which my friend has.

  • I readlined in 5th around 150 or so (if I remember correctly) and ran out of straightaway in 6th before having to slow down and still had rpm room to go. Air temperature around 70F and I weight 165. My weight along with lower temperatures help along with altitude of around 700 feet. I'm planning on the K&N and powercommander also. Did you feel the difference once you added this stuff? I'll have it on for track next summer.

  • Definitely! Me and my friend were rolling along in 2nd at same speed and I blew him away in acceleration. He has the exact same bike but with no upgrades. Also I believe I'm running rich. I'll be home in Louisiana Oct. 4th so maybe I'll get to see what my bike can really do. I'll try and remember to let you know how the bike performs at lower elevation.

  • well get some tyres with some grip, qualifiers are kinda shiad compered to others

  • Are those the stock Bridgestones? Took the word's out of my mouth at 0:42 :) Can't wait for my second track day. VIR 8/23. I'm trying to sell my 03 600RR for an 05+ for full time track riding. Good luck and keep that rubber down.

  • Actually the stock dunlops qualifiers. They are good, but I'm looking at replacing with something better for the track. Have fun at VIR.

  • did i mention your exhaust looks GREAT! the 600RR is an excellent track bike it has such a light feel in the turns :)

  • dunlop qualifier its a nice tires to.....try pirelli dragon supercorsa the best tires ever.....i have 6rr 05 honda sweetttt

  • whats up. if i wanna add more or check the coolant fluid .where is it located ?

  • i found it under the right fairing thanks

  • Love that sound! I have an 07 with the 2 bros gotta love it. Never been at a track though.

  • You have to try a track day. During normal everyday driving you can only use about 30% of the bikes potential. On the track, you will use 95% of the bikes potential if not more....and no speeding tickets. Two track days have made me a way better rider.

  • lol he does have a point about the no speeding tickets lol. wats a good first bike period? cuz when i turn 18 i plan on getting either a 600 or 750

  • I would get the 600. Plenty fast, fun to drive. Just remember 1st gear move the bike to almost 75 mph. I would recommend a 10 year old Honda CBR 600 to start. You can get one for around 2K to 3K. Just make sure the tires are new.

  • Hey CBR can they second seat too. Get the cowl. No need for it now that you going to the track and loving it. EBay is cheaper than the store too.

  • bad idea a 10 year old used 600 is still a 4cyl 600 and they're all horrible for beginners. any bike that can power wheelie is not a beginner bike. ninja ex 250 and 500 are the only real good beginner sportbikes, and they have plenty of power to learn on. think about it. it's your first bike don't make it your last, ninja 250s hold their value buy it learn for a year sell it for what you paid

  • Good point. I do love to power wheelie and this bike is a wheelie machine. A Ninja 250 is a great idea to learn and to sell in one year to get about what you paid.

  • yup my 650R is the smallest stock bike that can power wheelie...obviously 600s have less displacement but 4 cylinders and more HP. my bike will only do it in first gear, a ninja 500 won't at all (maybe with a really light rider?) and a 250 is totally safe to open up the throttle on. i have had 2 250s and they were great bikes. i can't wait to pick up a CBR 600RR for a track bike (keepin it street legal though too)
