@MChelada I been trying to find it but no sucj luck. the only way would be ebay or torrent sites. At least I found the red baron series wich is a live action mecha series.
@Anlushac11 Thank you. Making this was a whole lotta fun. The series was the height of camp, and the English dub only serves to make it perhaps the greatest unintentional comedy ever committed to tape. I would love to see a properly restored and remastered in HD package.
you know the funny thing is some people in America say that this awesome series is bad..can you believe that?!they always joke pout the same thing rubber suits and toys (godzilla have those you know)although the Italy and Arab fans love this show so much maybe because of the dub don't ya think?
@ultemad15red Well, I think the show is bad, but I dont think that it is BAD bad. If it was BAD bad, I would not have watched every single episode. The fun in the show comes from the silliness. It was obviously made on a low budget, the camera zooms frequently, the animation is poor, and the monsters have the personalities of high school bullies. But it is a truckload of fun. Its better than Transformers.
Wow, thanks! I have never had someone comment on one of my videos as having an "attitude". I really appreciate that, and that you appreciate all the work I put into giving this video its attitude.
Hehe, thanks! I found out some of that footage was borrowed from the earlier Ultraman series; since both series were owned and created by the same studio it didn't cost them a dime to use the footage.
Thank you! I finally got to watch all 39 episodes via your channel. It's the best thing I've seen on TV since Fireball XL5. I wish they had produced a second season.
@leon273 I am sorry, but I do not know of any place where all of the episodes have been dubbed into English, only Arabic. Only the first four episodes were dubbed to English, then cobbled together into an impromptu States-side direct-to-video movie released in 1982, which is what I used to make this video.
Thank you. I kinda feel like this elevates the production values of the original footage. I mean, now it all feels positively epic, and maybe about half as silly =P
And you would be right that I wouldn't have the foggiest...except that I watched the 1990s version of "Tales from The Riverbank" featuring Hammy Hamster!
Actually, I was already 10 years old when the Power Rangers came along. My earlier kidhood was raised on the Disney Afternoon cartoons: Ducktales, Rescue Rangers, Talespin, Darking Duck; shows that I will take to heart for the rest of my life.
Ah yes, now I do understand. No wonder all of your videos are so wacky and colorful and loud and hyperactive. All of these shows are black and white and quiet and prudent and sedentary. You are a man of opposites. If you had been the head BBC at the time, no doubt your characters would have been talking in rainbows or had magical flying elephinoceroses ;)
I think I was in college when Power Rangers came around. All the video trade magazines were making a big deal over how the show updated old footage by adding modern F/X with After Effects (I think it was all in the American footage) So I watched a couple of episodes and was like, "This is Voltron!"
Great work. I do miss the simpler time of movies. I think it was good as kids to use our imaginations a bit as we watched.
Thanks. I was in Elementary school when Power Rangers arrived. I actually prefer this type of filmmaking over any contemporary series that would otherwise make use of CGI instead of suitmation. The sheer FUN factor is overwhelming because it is all real: real monsters and real buildings; not ones and zeroes structured and assembled and moved about inside a graphics program. There is tangibility to all of this.
This is the first time that I've seen this particular footage, but, maaan...does it remind me of the old Godzilla and Ultraman days! I had to laugh at the 'bats' at 1:42 and 1:46 ;) WOW, what great special effects haha ;)
Awesome remix, Michael!
You had me wondering about this all morning..lol :)
Hehe, this movie is loaded with fantastic production values. In one shot I saw a lightstand; in another somebody's hand. If you watch the explosions carefully you'll see the dinosaurs' heads go flying intact . And best of all, some of those super monsters (like the one coming out of the ocean) never even appeared in the series; those shots were "borrowed" from other, earlier productions to makeup the prologue.
Five stars back at you for sharing in my sense of mirth :)
As a kid growing up in the 60's and 70's, watching Godzilla and Ultraman was an every Sunday morning event! I loved Ultraman!! I even had an Ultraman T shirt..Lol;) I also remember having Ultraman fights in the backyard..my friends and I would run around with our arms in the shape of an X so that we could fire our Ultraman lasers at each other..lol;)
Great video, Michael! Thanks for bringing back some fun memories! You did a fantastic job with the editing here! The music fits perfectly!
Hey 64mung, WOW! This is a fantastic surprise. Glad I could stir up some of your memories. When I was a kid I watched Power Rangers and couldn't care less about the heroes because I loved that endless supply of monsters they had to fight every week.
This movie actually combines the first four episodes of a TV series called Aizenborg that was produced by the same company that created Ultraman. Later on in the series they even had an Ultraman-style giant robot to battle the dinosaurs.

Ah yes, the first four episodes of Jumborg Ace. I have never seen them before. Btw, is that an 80's song?

@YungReg88 Yes, 1984. It's from the Footloose soundtrack.

It would be epic if Ghidorah showed up.

Yeah, but I think that would have been above the budget of this series.

Or, what about those dinosaurs vs Godannar?
