  • Only in LA...

  • LOL, some guy in a cafe, doesn't know a movie being filmed, see's the train drive down.

  • Just a normal day in Los Angeles.

  • whoa I didn't know the train was real, too! And all the time I was thinking how realistic the CG looked in this film...turns out they're not CG at all

  • Do I just need to coment to get thumbs up ?

  • DAMMIT MAL

  • It looked too real! I was thinking this was the only CG effect in the movie.

  • Theres something you don't see everyday...

  • so they actually put a real train in los angellis in the middle of the street.???

  • @krikbestplayer34 it was a truck with a train cover

  • @h2ofanNo000000000001 no need to shit yourself over it

  • @krikbestplayer34 Your such a dumbass, do you see any god damn tracks? Its a modified truck, even a 2 year old could tell that!

  • @TirochVideos LMAO your response is so fucken brilliant.. its just full of obviousness and like, dude.. its on the fucken video!!! look under the dam train! lol your awesome man!

  • What the freakin hell!! This was one scene I was absolutely sure of that it was CGI.

Really, Mr. Nolan, you have the magic! You really do!

  • The building that blew up in the snow was not a miniature

  • its a huge truck disguised as a train!! lol

  • what was the train built on top of? a truck or something?

  • Damn lol. I thought it was a CG train, but I was so wrong lol. Props to Nolan.

  • @femiboy34 Nolan's an old school director. He dosent use CGI unless it's necessary. He used cgi in inception at the end of the film when Ariadne and Cobb are in Limbo or when they're in Paris

  • @magikcarpet Yeah I noticed! Behind the scenes is a must see!

  • @limeroundup Yea it's all in the Extraction mode on blu-ray. I loved when they talked about the Zero-g fight. That's Inceptions registered Trademark!

  • I want to buy a fake train and drive it around

  • KKKK....

  • my god that's amazing.

  • If I saw that and didn't know that they were filming I'd have been like :0

  • how did they do that? like how? without rails :S

  • @R05H1= It's a vehicle made to look like a train. I think I saw rubber wheels near the end. Sorry for being obvious.

  • I'm sure he's a favorite with the highway department.

  • I bet Christopher Nolan could do the part where Ariadne folded the Earth without CGI if he wanted to.

  • @Str4t0sPh3rE what are you talking about? He could do it with CGI if he wanted to.

  • @TheMaxAttack77 What are YOU talking about? lol. Str4t0sPh3rE's comment made sense, yours does not.

  • @PSNDonutDude i understand it may take some "higher" thinking for some people but the joke was that Christopher Nolan did that scene without CGI...

  • @TheMaxAttack77 I understand that.... wait did you say he did that scene without CGI... No he didn't!

  • that is seriously awesome stuff right there

  • "cuz that's how he rolls " LOL

  • cgi vs models = old star wars vs new star wars

  • @etocadet TBH, both CGI and models are becoming pretty much the same in terms of realisticness.

Two things I like about models though:

1)When watching behind the scenes, you can see what really goes into a movie... it is really cool to see these sets etc.

    2) When I saw that building in the snow collapse, in both the trailer and the movie, I could tell it wasn't CGI and I thought they blew up a full sized building that huge, when in fact is was a "miniature". I love film making. Real is cooler.

  • Yeah,CGI is overrated anyways.

  • Is this a real locomotive or just a truck with painted cardboard glued to it?

  • @Gnometower It is a flat bed truck with an extended flatbed. The front is covered in steel so it wouldn't break apart when it crashed through things, but everything on the flatbed is ply wood, Styrofoam and fiberglass.

  • I was wondering if that part was real or CGI but it looked so real and I'm right! That's insane! Daring move!

  • this is racism

  • christopher nolan is boss

  • so cool!

  • wtf I thought this movie was real. Now that i see how fake it is, inception sucks!

  • @damthatriver09 haha yeah dude i was pissed when someone told me i couldent enter pepoles minds through there dreams with an electrionic device, the movie is crap!

  • @damthatriver09 you suck dick faggot

  • @ChrisAnjelo calm down newbie

  • @damthatriver09 you should tell that to your mom she sweats too much when we fuck

  • @ChrisAnjelo LMAO!

  • so I was at this stop light and all of a sudden...

  • You're waiting for a train...

  • well that's not something you see every day... Let's roll a train through the streets of LA. Not a big deal...

  • 3 million dollar train on wheels. LOVE IT. This shit was such a bitch to shoot.

  • Would be epic to see that riding by when I'm stuck in traffic again. :P

  • haha wtf man

  • in the movie it was raining. Did they made the Rain digitally CGI ?

  • @melediv there was fake rain further down the street

  • @ems2486 What street is this?

  • @ems2486 what intersection is this? thanks

  • @imriey 7th and Spring

  • @ems2486 Thanks for the reply!!

  • I remember I was driving to work that day on Spring and 4th... and one of my co workers said there was a train on Spring street by 7th... I thought he was full of shit until I went outside and looked down the street.. sure enough.. there was the train..

I like when they decide to do things like this.. and NOT use CGI. Especially for a film like this..... I love CGI but if they can use real materials and what not on a set... thats even better!!

  • @melediv Mate they made the rain =) Chris Nolan does not believe in CGI, only uses it when he has to show the impossible, thats how GOOD he is

  • fun fact: bruce wayne was operating that train

  • @cr33pyGamer thatd be epic as shit

  • @totaketheblack lmao incorporating batman into everything FTW

  • @cr33pyGamer hahaha who the fck is running this train.....ummm wayne interprises ahahah

  • Oh! I remember that part in the movie!

  • hahahahahahahaha that movie was so awesome but this is freaking hilarious

  • @iplayveryloud fillmore and western railroad

  • to stage manager (Dark Knight) "I want to flip a big rig over" "lol, you're cute"... (several years later) "sooo for this one, I wanna get a train to roll through downtown Los Angeles,".. "I QUIT!"

  • @ViperRob42 lol

  • and that ladies and gentlemen is a train

  • I work right where this happened, I can still see the patch up work where this happened

  • wtf they used an actual train :\ im stoked

  • Well, that's one new way to commute through Los Angeles.

  • pretty cool. Can't wait to watch the special features of the dvd.

  • He... he used a real train for this thing? It must be nice to have money.

  • damn

now that i think of it, the only real special effects in the movie are super slow mo

every scene ive seen so far was done with real actors, cars, rain, locations, etc...

i think the only few green screen parts are mal's limbo, and the scene in the beginning when leo's kicked into the tub n water pours through the windows

  • @RomanThaDroman no the water getting pumped into the place was real.

  • @DiClivity

    damn

    well shit

    this movie's fuckiin LEGIT

  • @RomanThaDroman The super slo mo was real as well

  • @iDiOtShOwBaG

    ah yeah

i need to get that technology

shit'd be hella fun puttin life in super slo mo

  • Wow. I knew he liked to create as much effects in camera as he could but I really thought it was a cgi train when I saw the film. He really does like his in-camera effects over the cgi stuff! Take that James Cameron and your cgi smurf people!

  • Thats no dream train!

    Its the Yukarin Express!

Yukari must have played with the worlds borders again...

  • wow that was real?...

  • @powerovergamec

    no

    it was a DREAM!

    :o

  • I need that thing on the 405

  • Love, love, love the way Nolan films his movies without using CGI or VFX or whatever. He proves all you need is imagination and some good ideas.

  • @cxrodformrx silence

  • this scene in the movie was ace. made me jump!

  • that mercedes gets absolutely fucked

  • And then the train turned into diamonds

  • THE ONLY THING I LOVE ABOUT CHRISTOPHER NOLAN IS THT HE DOESNT WASTE HIS TIME ON CGI........

  • i wonder if Ozzy Osbourne was onboard it

  • it has rubber wheels so it didnt need rails

  • That's friggin awesome.

  • THE FUCK I THOUGHT IT WAS CGI!

  • @LittoBUbbo

    Same here!

  • the first time i saw this movie, i jumped when this train came out of nowhere lol

  • i got a poopie in my hiney and it's name is Obama

  • Rails? Where we're going, we don't need...rails

  • @Thomasandhomer totally LOL'ed at the back to the future reference!

  • Comment removed

  • @Thomasandhomer Both great movies! Very clear by the way.

  • @Thomasandhomer EPIC xD

  • @Thomasandhomer hahahahhahahah -- Nice Back to The Fututure joke!

  • @Thomasandhomer Back to The Future and Inception don't mix.

  • @Thomasandhomer hahaha Awesome BTTF reference!

  • interesting...

  • I love it. Christopher Nolan avoids CGI as much as possible.

  • I could not agree with you more, in this day in age its almost like CGI takes away from the story, its just to fake. If you like Nolan films I would recommend you watch a movie called Children Of Men, no CGI used, amazing story truly great film.

  • Thats not a Nolan film, its a great film but not nolan

  • yea i know, its Alfonso Cuarón's movie really good movie. I should have clarified my bad

  • yoiu dont have to i just know there are internet trolls that would love to argue with you over the mistake lol

  • @betito4887 What's an internet troll ?

  • @mitchqqqqqq

    Children of men, no CG?

    That's where you're wrong :)

  • @mitchqqqqqq children of men has a shit load of cgi

  • @1preciousroy1 not as much as it could have had if another director did it, thats what i meant my bad :P

  • @riotgearhead And that's how this will remain a timeless masterpiece!! Every little special FX is for "real" so technology won't fail this movie the test of time :D

  • @riotgearhead (replying to my old post) - unfortunately I saw the movie, and it is not good at all. It's a big "explainFest" with effects, that poses as something deeper than it actually is. Ambitious but boring.

  • @riotgearhead Thats such a high-point of him...avoiding as much CGI as possible. The hotel gravity shift scene - revolving hallway are the prime examples of a filmmaker who does not compromise on his vision. Simply genius!

  • that was a semi truck at one point lol hard to believe tho

  • lol @ "cuz that's how he rolls."

  • What happens in LA stays in LA lol.

  • Now ain't that the damnedest thing I've ever seen.

  • You dont see that everyday in LA

  • sweet! needs rails tho Like they did for the Red Cars in Roger Rabbit movie
