  • chevy's with all my heart. the corvette is my farvorite car and always will be. but i'm a realist. i'm also a true racer. i don't care what kind of car or engine it has..(as long as it's not a ford..lol) i will drive it, race it, and enjoy it. Hell, at this point in time i'm currently working on building an LS6 RX-7 track car right now. hopfully next i will build an ultima kit car which as been a dream of mine for years. in conclusion...what i'm trying to say is. YA'LL NEED TO CHILL THE HELL OUT

  • my goodness. let me be clear. most factory made american cars don't not handle as well as euro or japanese cars. i'm sorry but it's fact. i'm not talking about kit cars or replica cars. you can't put those into this conversation. because they are highly modified cars to start with. i'm talking about factory production car going head to head. when you start modifying, then all bets are off. it's up to the person who's modifying in how he or she wants to set the car up. i'll say it again.   • @Tremac26 American cars can't handle at all? See Factory Five or Race Car Replicas - both all-American companies producing high horsepower cars which can out-handle AND out-perform the best supercars worldwide production car industries have to offer.

  • @scaryGTM talking about most baseline cars dude. of course when when start modifiying any car. it will handle and perform better. pay attention people damn. i have always said that i love american cars. but in the REAL world vs other cars...we sometimes fall short on the track. i love power but i also want to turn my cars as well. they're is a reason why BMW are the best handling cars in the world people. if you havn't drove one then you don't know what i'm talking about.

  • @Tremac26 If you want to be as broad as saying 'American cars don't handle' then you invite comments proving your wide-sweeping statements wrong. If you want to say mainstream American cars don't handle as well as semi-luxury/luxury European automobiles, you may have a point - but again - that's not what you said.

  • The factory has made an adaptor plate for the chevy engine and the Porsche gearbox. You just fit it to the flywheel I think, but it could be the propshaft, I haven't got that far in my build.

  • @JoelRegP I believe it is an adaptor plate, a common way to fit engines to these transaxles... I am curious when you mention a propshaft... not got far enough into the build to notice it is mid engined?

  • The Ultima is truly a bad ass car. I'm thinking, all alum Big Block stroker motor wit EFI. A Nelson racing twin turbo 427 SBC might be a nice choice also. It would give everyone a shock at 60 MPH roll on racing.

  • im kinda diggin this car, hmm such engine is very easy to coax more HP from if you "get bored" with the stock levels.

    the only thing about the gtr is its actually 720 hp so to add anything that hasnt already been added would be kinda hard

    I was thinking about getting one when im older and have the money and putting turbos on myself

    but by the time i actually have money for that they'll probably have 1500 horsepower gtrs(saying its going to be a while)
