  • Such a beautiful baseball park.... To bad no one goes to the games...

  • @duke00004 and barry bonds couldn't feild or hit (non-home run) as well as griff.. he's one of the top 3 best centerfeilders of all time

  • the roof is closed and he is used to playing in a dome

  • griffey brought swag to baseball before anyone even knew what swag was

  • The sound off the bat was ridiculously loud. Sounded like a gunshot

  • the best baseball stance ever!!

  • The best all time with out a doubt

  • @DoltMasher Real madrid will be interesting to watch this season.

  • @DoltMasher Everybody has their own opinion but I should have put my opinion more nicely.

  • there will never be another griffey.... the best in this generation

  • mahe said hes coming back to seattle when he retired ... he might become the coach

  • what a booring sport this is. basketball and soccer rules

  • @vika01

lol...only a special breed excel at this sport!

  • what was the last team he played for before he retired

  • mariners

  • @Ray5404 actually the seattle mariners dude

  • ya he did it all home runs, 300 carrier Ba,could steal a base hit for power and average

  • to me, Ken Griffey Jr was the best EVER...he was the definition of 5-tool player

  • @KingOfKingz819

    amen bro

griffey and mickey mantle the most talented players to play the sport

  • Griffey is the man..how can anyone hate him..except for when he falls asleep in the clubhouse during the game.

  • He'll always be seen as the real HR hitter of his time.

  • Vote For Griffey!!!

I'm voting for Griffey for the all star game, as well as a write in for the home run derby. Go to MLB.com and vote for Griffey in the all star game and home run derby. You can vote 25 times for each from each e-mail address you have. I'm voting hundreds, if not thousands of times, but he needs more.

Lets see Griffey one more time.

  • iam very upset he just anunced his retirement. it upsets me deeply

  • @Jay2613 wahhh?

  • @BennnnyBoooom

    what do u mean. waahhhhh??????

u didint know he anunced his retirement?

  • @Jay2613 haha why are you soooo upset? are you gonna cry?

  • @BennnnyBoooom no haha. i was just playin. i did like jr alot and i am going to miss him. but no im not really going to cry

  • @Jay2613 haha alright, yeah me too. he was a BIG part of the mariners but now that hes gone we can get someone that will actually hit the ball well.

  • @BennnnyBoooom yeah. everyone likedm jr. almost. but he was pretty worthless this year. they need a young player who can hit and play some D.

  • The greatest baseball player to ever live

  • you rock

  • I miss all those moments of him being a young kid in Seattle with his dad. I remember when he and his dad hit back-toback HR's in a game. That was amazin'! Go Mets!

  • This is my b-day :)

  • I am a true seattle fan and Griffey is the best there ever was and will be. I dont care if he beats Bonds or not. It's not fair because Bonds took staroids and I dout he could have made to 630 without them.

  • Pujols has 10 + years left in the tank...who knows? Within the next 3-4 years he will hit 500.

  • Yeah if he stayed healthy....He's 40 and he had 630. Obviously no way he can hit 132 more to beat Bonds. Thome is old and he's got 564 so he won't get it. Manny is getting older. Only guy I can think of with the closest chance to beat it is sadly A-Rod..... Alot of people say Ryan Howard but he's 30 and he's only at like 220 hr's.

  • I bet that's the only time that crowd had cheer for a visiting player that hit a home run. He is the one that saved baseball in Seattle.

  • @SeattleSportsFanic

You know that is exactly what's so cool about Griffey. He hits a home run in New York, they cheer!!!! He hit one at Petco and you could hear kids yelling "GRIFFEY ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!" He's the man who was supposed to bring balance to the game.

  • @LJSJIUJITSU He is one of the few

players that didn't use steroids or anything.

You made is sound like he was The Chosen

    One or something.

  • @SeattleSportsFanic

He was meant to bring balance to the game. He was supposed to be the man to reach 800 HR's.

  • @SeattleSportsFanic

LJS is right!!!! He was the chosen one.

  • im 90% sure he will be the homerun king if he plays three more years how many does he have

  • @Jcelli6 630 home runs in counting

  • ive seen him do that probably 20 times in person back at the dome, it never gets old......i forgot he wore #3 for a while

  • Griffrey!

  • watch my ken griffey jr. tribute..

  • smooth swing

    it looks easy for him

    beautiful!!!

  • Its a shame that he never won the world series I think he more than deserves it. If he wasnt injured I can see him holding the homerun and RBI record.

  • im a yankee fan and he is one of my favorite baseball players of all time

  • that SWING!

  • Check it out on the follow through!!!!!!! That's the swingman logo revisited!!!!

  • please don't retire!!!! Wow your the best Griffey everyone has nothing but love for you!

  • yeah the stankees do suck ass go mariners

  • such a smooth swing

  • i think he would have hit 800... think about it... he missed over 500 games total due to injury

  • best swing ive ever seen

  • haha...a vendor got in my way in my video of griffey's 400th mariner homerun as well...darn vendors...haha

  • he has a beautiful swing ;D

  • GRIFFEY IS GOD

  • Exactly, you get it.

  • yea hopefully he'll do that too that would be nice

  • man, i wish i could do that - so smooth and efffortless. he and josh hamilton have some great swings.

  • cant wait for the season :D

  • The best swing ever.

  • Hats Off to the Fans of Seattle. That man is wearing a different Uniform and yet they still embrace him like he stll plays for seattle. Talk about Fan support! Jr. is the Best!

  • it doesnt hurt that Ken's a class act as well, we seattle fans harbor no ill feelings towards him at all.. unlike Pay-Rod, or A-Fraud.. whatever you want to all him heh

    welcome home, Junior!

  • Seattle fans have the best class.... whereas I think Pittsburgh has the worst, not 100% sure.

  • No that has to be Philadelphia. They booed Santa Claus and cheered Michael Irvin's injury.

  • @12GKing12 hey when you live in seattle you got to find an excuse to cheer for something

  • @12GKing12 Every team does that to former great players....

  • @12GKing12 Our team may suck, but we love our team and the handful of greats that came from it.

  • I would love to see the opening game at Safeco when his name is announced. Dave Niehaus when he sees him will give him his trademark "MY OH MY'S!" along with the crowd being so loud the retractable roof will blow off into Elliot Bay!

  • im hopin he jacks one on opening day, im gonna be there for sure. jr was the best, my favorite growing up, happy to see him back

  • @jamesanderson26

you totally called that for today hit a bomb to right field at the metrodome vs the Twins. hopefully we'll see more of those

  • yeah, that was amazing, BUT i was talkin about opening day at safeco haha, it was still amazing to see him crack one in a mariners uni again.

  • i love his swing he makes it so effortless

  • I was at this game and he nailed that ball. It hit the billboards below the resteraunt in righ feild. I hope he can get a few of those as a Mariner.

  • Best lookin swing in the MLB

  • hell yerah...

  • Junior is back!!! Go M's!

  • Can't wait to see Seattle's outfield with Jr & Ichiro.

  • Amen. I can see M's competing now. They finally have a veteran leader who was the best player in the MLB when he was last in Seattle.

  • I agree! We're gonna have an insanely powerful and SMART outfield. I'll bet that they'll sell Jr. and Ichiro on the same t-shirts this year. :P

  • hells yeah the kid is back where he belongs!!!! Seattle!!! whooo!!!

  • I'm ready to see him do that at the TED about 15 times this year!

  • SEATTLE!!!!

  • We are waiting for you in atlanta jr...

  • sweetest swing in baseball - come 2 atlanta JR!

  • SCREW YOU HE CHOSE SEATTLE!

  • like him or not -,as one superstar after the other falls thanks to Roids ,Griffeys clean status places him at the top of the heap.was he really the best of his time all along ?

  • sweetest swing to ever play the game..

  • maybe top 5 all time without the injuries? he's already the best ever during the prime of his career and without the injuries, his career numbers would have reflected that.

  • Man this gives me goosebumps. Bring Griffey back to Seattle!

  • He may be coming back sooner than you think.

  • Yeah. Thats what I am hearing. I got opening day tickets a while ago just in case so if hes back I dont have to beat the rush. So exciting.

  • for your imformation seattle 's front office ask griffey who should they trade of him or Arod he responded it was general mannager 's responsability ok ....never write without explore the issue ok .

  • It's kinda sad as a M's fan that this is our best moment of the year. A opposing player hitting a home run. It's also funny how us M's fans worship Griffey but hate A-Rod. Griffey demanded a trade outta Seattle with limited choices. A-Rod gave us a chance to sign him, but he went for the money. HUGE money......Yeah, he could of took less to stay with the M's..But it's a little different when you actually are that person. That being said..I hate A-Rod. but, mostly because his personaility(douche)

  • Griffey did more for Seattle than A-Roid ever did. Griffey put Seattle on the baseball map. Griffey had little kids on every continent wearing M's caps because of what he did on the field and who he was as a person.

Yes, Griffey demanded a trade...but if you recall that trade turned out pretty damn good for us. Meanwhile, A-Rod sold out for a huge chunk of money and subsequently cheated.

This is why I boo A-Fraud and cheer Griffey, and will be happy to see him return.

  • griffey is the reason i bought a mariners hat as a young kid living in the deep south. he was and still is to this day an icon for the seattle m's.. i completely agree griffey did much more for seattle's program than arod.

  • that was on my birth day. god i love junior

  • mine too

  • Go read a book kid. You need to expand your vocabulary.

What I said is a fact so cry me a river if you don't like it.

  • Great baseball player but terrible personality.

  • best home run swing in the mlb

  • Even without the record, he's the best ever. Many people fail to realize that for the 90's decade the man dominated the game of baseball. From over the shoulder catches to home runs, he did it all.

Now, titanium screws and all, he STILL is a weapon.

  • injuries sucked? yes. anybody better in their prime? no.

  • Definately 1 of the best. He's my favorite player of all time & if you really think about it,had he not had the injuries he'd probably be approaching Barry Bonds record by now. He will be a Hall Of Famer though,& you gotta love the fact that not only is Griffey a great player, but he's a clean player-(no trouble on/off the field, didn't do steroids, etc.) I hope he has a chance to raise his homerun total to 650 though, that would be an even bigger accomplishment

  • I agree, I get disappointed every time I hear he gets hurt. Definately would be Greatest of all time if he didn't have injuries

  • judt like god

  • my childhood sports hero right there. happy to have him on the south side of chicago now, i'll see him against the red sox saturday. he's the best in my book

  • the kid in his prime was the best 5 tool player in baseball history i think

  • such a pretty swing

  • Best swing ever

  • Damn, nice seats!

  • That is the only time you will hear applause for an opposing hitter slamming a home run at Safeco. Griffey is still king in Seattle.

  • AWESOME seats

  • would ichiro be a red if griffy stayed in seatle

  • Look at the bat speed through the zone. The ease of his stroke is un-rivaled by ANY player in the league right now. At 38 he still has the best swing in the game.

  • I don't know how old you guys are, so don't take this as an attack. Alot of people who never saw him when he came up through the 90's truly don't realize how great he really was. I'm sure several of you who made statements of support truly mean it. However, unless you saw him in action during those times, you just don't understand what he was to the game. He is the greatest to ever play this game, ever!!!!!

  • You wouldn't get Ichiro for Grif.

  • griff the man

  • Griffey easily would've hit 700 homers if he wasn't hurt for like four years. this guy has been an amazing player throughout his career...at the plate, in the outfield, and off the field. he's a great guy. congrats to jr.!!

  • With that swing he could have been at 800

  • Honestly....I think if griffey hadnt been hurt for MORE than 4 years (lets face it hes had nagging injuries for a long long time) he could have easily broken 900 by now.

My theory is he would have gotten PLENTY more at bats (well obviously because he was injured) and lets face it even as a yankee fan he is honestly the greatest player ive seen. He's done it all and he's done it with honesty, integrity and one of the nicest attitudes ever portrayed by ANYONE in MLB

  • Yep,the prettiest swing in baseball today

  • its a shame that he was injured for a couple of seasons or else i have no doubt in my mind that he would be at or above where bonds is but with griffey theres no steroid questions hes just a great player

  • Damn right.

  • Griffey Jr. at one time stated that he wanted to end his career back in Seattle. I really hope that happens. I'm 20 and have been a big Mariners fan since I remember baseball, due almost entirly to Griffey, along with Buhner, Cora, A-Rod, and The Unit. I want nothing more than Griffey to head back to Seattle from Cinci, and stop by my house in Iowa on the way back so I can get him to autograph something in my room of Griffey stuff

  • haha yeah but dont forget Edger. hahaha remember Norm Charlton the sheriff hahaha and good old Lou

  • ken griffey jr is my favorite player because of the way he plays the game and if he hadn't got hurt he would be closing in on 700home runs

  • one time one of my little league coaches screwed up my swing, so my dad made me watch griffey for like two hours to get it right

  • yup.. ur dad definetly knew what he was doing

  • God how I wish he would come back to Seattle. There has been talk of it and he wants to. He needs to come back to the AL and play D.H so that he can stay healthy. If he would have been healthy or on Roids Like Bonds was from 2000 untill last year, Nobody would even be talking about Barry Bonds right now.HE is the best all around player ever. Hands Down.

  • The Reds announced yesterday that they are willing to trade Jr. and so far the Mariners are the only team that is showing interest. I think there is still some class in baseball as it looks like the Reds will let Jr. finish his career where he wants. I am stoked!!!

  • his swing...is simply beautiful...

  • jr was the best mariner ever, wish he never left, i used to go to games all the time, i even used to imitate his batting stance and swing when i played little league haha

  • your 16? I'm 21 he came out in 87 a year after i was born.. lol I've seen GRIFFY!!! when I was 5 he was the reason i started playing ball. Your a youngin!!!

  • sweetest swing in all of baseball right there

  • Damn, nice seats for that!!

  • you and me both

  • I was at this game. Probably the best game I have seen in my life. My favorite player, Griffey, hits two home runs and the Mariners still win. There was even a suicide squeeze! Great baseball. But seeing Griffey in a Reds uniform makes me cry.

  • sweetest swing the games ever seen.

  • he's got one of the smoothest swings you'll ever see

  • everybody needs to shut up about ken griffey jr. he's great and to bad seattle fans he's with the reds now

  • You know, you're right. If Griffey hadn't been hurt all those times, he WOULD'VE passed Hank Aaron and probably claimed some other records too, rather than Bonds...but you know what the BEST thing is...? You'll NEVER, EVER hear GRIFFEY say that...

  • cool vid! AWESOME seats.

  • damn, nice seats

  • So that's damn impressive. FIRST pitch he sent into the bleachers. I agree with a lot of people here bout Jr's swing. So effortless but POWERFUL.

  • this is from a yankees fan a healthy Ken Griffey jr is the best baseball player i have ever seen and props to Dave Niehaus for getting to the hall of fame

  • im a yankee fan too, and i agree, HEALTHY he is really good

  • Thanks brotha! we all miss Ken up here in Seattle and NO DOUBT Dave belongs in the hall of fame ... great great announcer..

  • What a view. . . great clip

  • what are u talking about thats what he'll hit WITH the injuries he's at 580something right now and still fairly young, but if he wouldnt of been hurt all of those times his numbers prolly would've been around 770something

  • How much do mariner fans love griffey

  • as much as bulls fans love MJ but that don't mean everyone else doesn't too

  • great man is this man

  • Those are really good seats, haha. And that swing....so beautiful.

  • Ken Griffey Jr was my favorite palyer on the mariners and he still is. He made me proud to be baseball fan from washington

  • Such a pretty swing...so effortless.

  • For anybody who has watched him, he is the best of this era, even with Bonds, Arod, and McGuire. Injuries will rob him of his due greatness, but in terms of actual play (not numbers) he maybe GOAT.

  • he hit two that game

  • what kind of guy can get that reaction when he hits a homerun at an away stadium? griffey thats who

  • Griffey should be in a #24 Mariners uniform. Griffey could still beat Bonds for the home run record if he can stay healthy and out of injuries. Bonds is 5 years older than Griffey so if Jr can put at least 5 more solid years of an average of around 30-35 HR's a season he'd have Bonds beat. it'd be 100% ALL NATURAL

  • nice viding!

  • i live in washghtion lol so i can see the mariners

  • holy shit those are amazing seats.

  • I agree. If he remained healthy, he'd be legendary. His swing is perfection

  • u got that right, perfection

  • He was the youngest slugger ever to reach 100 home runs in his career, if it wasn't for his injuries he would have beaten Bonds easily. And without steroids!
