wow thats some pretty awesome looking urban/concrete terrain.
i wouldnt exactly call it gothic, when i think of gothic in 40k i think if like the cities of death buildings, with tons of decorative bracings, and lanterns and pointy tops, and lots of embellishments and what not.
It's looks weird how it's like worn from the elements but then some buildings are missing walls randomly. I dont mean to sound effensive because I'm not even 1/100 as good at making terrain as you guys but I don't think it's your best.
I think the set is nice. The only thing is the seams are REALLY noticable. Of course it is an easy fix and can easily be done on future projects. You improve everytime though Sara!! Keep up the great work.
I'd like to see some buttresses on those buildings. Its not that much extra work and would make the outsides look that little bit more appealing on the larger pieces in my opinion. but over all the set looks prety good. I like the addition of the gargoyles, I purchased a few from the local dollar store to paint up and use for terrain myself.
some of the walls need Work, showing a seem here and there doesnt really make this stuff look good IMO. Some Wall plaster to hide them also adds to the look and gives it some texture
But this is what I can tell and what I think that could make this better, but then again it depends howmuch this kind of terrain set piece set costs shows how much effort is put into it I suppose.
I noticed a few problems with this piece of terrain and it seems to me that is really is cheaply done in the end. You folks could have done more, basing on the places of play sand as a base here and there for a dirtish kind of chunks of land here and there blown over time in the conors, the rails look like they are from the plastic armymen that can be found at a dolar store, and lastly the hole structures could have used a touch more detail of brick or even atlest a touch bit of damage to set;
It looks very roman or greek. Space marines bare quite a large resemblance to a roman soldier or greek spartan theme. Elite fighters that work in smaller teams/squads to achieve victory. I like to believe that if they were still around they would have been space marines in the future.
now that i have to absolutely agree on, space marines seem to be very roman/greek. i mean just look at some of the veteran's helmets with the roman soldier looking "plumes" and the swords are very similar to a roman broad sword as well
not to mention space marines would go great on this terrain because theyre blocky, and so is the terrain with all its flat facings
This just looks ugly. Seams everywhere, buildings aren't intact, but you can't tell why. Elements don't make half of a building disappear.
Just no thought put into this set at all.

Its looks good put together, But the paint, I hate it. Looks to dull and not enough colour.

Is it going for sale? If it is, you might find it gone realllly quickly.

sorta doesn't make sense. Its a ruined - intact cityscape. Facade - maybe but it has that air of bad terrain about it because of its clean looks.

Well, you're on to a problem with terrain-- it also has to be use-able. Enclosed buildings aren't as useful.
bluetablepainting 3 years ago
ya but i mean it should be more destroyed instead of straight perfect walls beside walls that are gone.
Locbot 3 years ago
@bluetablepainting just put in removable walls or roof
