I told the census worker to take a hike today. I filled out the number of people and sent it in, but they still came a knocking. What a waist of tax payer money!
I've had 2 census workers so far. I answered both times the 1 question I was required to answer. I was polite and fortunately for them, they were too. Both were elderly and I am glad they are able to make money and told them so. :)
Stopped by my place and told them how many lived here and they wanted to know how old I was...told them I was too old to care and they put 'refused' on the rest of the questionnaire. I just smiled.....
Same thing. We've had 3 visits from the Census workers and numerous letters. I only filled in what I'm constitutionally required to. We were one of the 1 in 40 homes that also received the 200 question ACS survey (Community Action Survey), even one of the Census workers said he'd never heard of it! They're just trying to figure out who will comply.
But you did fill out the census form, you filled in: 4. That is complying. Everything else they ask is useless because they already do have that info. It's a mind fuk. Regardless, you answered the required question so you complied.
Kurt, I must've been lucky. When two census workers showed up at my door, I said "there are 4 ppl here & 5th amendment for the rest of your questions."
The guy with the form started in with me about how the information wouldn't be used for anything, etc & I responded - "that's what the fed told Japanese citizens during WWII". He laughed. That's when the woman standing next to him introduced herself as the "area census supervisor" & told him it was okay I answered in the manner I did.
We were lucky enough not to get a visit. Our form was only 10 questions long. I doubt they'll arrest you unless you threaten someone, some people have been killed over that when they order the worker off of their property.
I agree with you

Luckily I was in the midst of moving to another residence, so I didn't fill out shit. But you're awesome man, seriously.
