Hi folks ! For updated info about this song and Ananda Sukarlan's new compositions, please join the group "Ananda Sukarlan's friends" in facebook. We'll keep you informed there ! Everyone welcome !
Can somebody please give translation to text of "In Sickness" by the same composer ? I was crying listening it, sure that the text is very good too. Such a marvellous music
Yes I agree. The music is so strong even I don't understand the text. It is not just nice song, it is a masterpiece. I saw Ananda Sukarlan's concert once, is a genius. His piano music are also great
In My Prayer tonight you became the beating of my heart that has so patiently endured what seems to be limitless pain and faithfully revealed one secret after another, the unending song of my life
I love you
And for that reason, will never stop praying for your well being.
===
* Original poem uses "subuh" which actually means "end of night" or "dawn".
** The original poem uses "maghrib", or "time when the sun sets".
In My Prayer this afternoon you became the sparrow that fluffed its feathers in the shower, alighted on the branch and felled the anthers of the roseapple flowers and then in sudden excitement flew away to alight on the mango tree branch
In My Prayer this evening** you became the distant wind that descended ever so slowly, tiptoed down the path and slipped through the cracks of the panes and door to press its cheeks and lips against my hair, chin and eyelashes
In My Prayer (based on Sapardi Djoko Damono' poem)
In My Prayer this morning* you became the sky which through the entire night did not close its eyes, a clear expanse ready to receive the first light, a curve of silence in wait of sounds
As the sun drifted above my head, you became in my prayers the tips of pines, eternally green and forever presenting abstruse questions to the wind that hisses from directions unknown
I enjoyed this very much. A lovely song and a sensitive performance. Betty Beath

The lyrics is written in indonesian.
But, you don't have to understand the languange. The music itself has represents the soul of the lyrics.
Music is a universal languange which will be underdstood by everyone in the world.
