We usually plan on about 6-7 minute heats and mains. The power can drop a bit during that time with NiMH batteries. But, with lipos not so much. Charge time varies but usually about 30 minutes. So, you need some spares.
Easy does it Maxxx! Its a 640 x 480 pixel RCA Small Wonder. I'll be happy to purchase a more expensive unit if you would like to send me the money. Anything else I can help you with or do you just snip at people on YouTube to make yourself feel better?
Shoot, I live in Indiana! I've been looking all over for a decent R/C track. We just found an outdoor one down near camp Atterbury. had the dirt oval and everything. We'll have to check this one out too. Is this open to the public?
Overnight charger? You can pick up one that will do most batteries in about 45 minutes at your local hobby shop for about $50. You must have gotten that puppy might dirty to take 2 hours to clean it! Slash is a Blast!
i got one yesterday with an overnight charger 10hours to charge the car was 260 with tax included at pep boys ran it this morning and WOW is all i can say but i had to clean it that took me 2 hours
As far as "hobby grade" equipment, you won't find a much less expensive way to get into R/C racing. We started out with Associated RC10T4's. But that was about $500 to be competitive. You can get into box stock Slash racing for about $250. Can't beat that!
You only need to buy a battery and charger to have what you need to run. Many guys are switching to Lipos. As a result, you can buy used chargers and NiMH packs CHEEP at tracks and on ebay. Nice batteries for not much money.
I was going to get a Axial Scorpion rock crawler for Christmas because we have a local rock crawling club nearby too with a great course, but after watching the Slashes race and rub fenders, there was no question about getting one! They are a no-brainer.
How long is the run time on the slash? And, how long does it take to charge a battery once you've run it down?

chase199785 2 years ago
Whats the rules on motors? Is it stock class then lipo class or something like that? How many laps do you get off one batt (what batt)?
rhodeislandrasta 2 years ago
It is usually divided into different classes depending on motors:
Stock class - 27T brushed or 17.5 Brushless
Super Stock - 19T brushed or 13.5 Brushless
Mod class - Anything under that although some places run specifically 10.5T classes etc.
