  • bloody good idea fella, would not want to lean over too much though. its great but not ideal of what i do. check your levels before dropping a record, never make it level, always a little quieter, you can turn it up without anyone noticing but not down. please take this well, im not having a dig

  • Oh no worries, brother. Actually this is an old video and I'll be building a new desk this summer. The decks are way too far away from me this way. In one of my newer videos, I'm using my other decks in the battle position doing some looping.

  • oh cool ill check it. im tight for space (got a little one on the way) but when i do some more vids ill show you my new setup ok bro... keep it funky

  • I love that setup man! I am going to be doing sort of the same thing soon with Virtual DJ (Serato is wayyy too expensive), except i need to find myself some good decks. I know you recommended some used technics on MOB, but i don't think i want to go that route.

Again, love the setup and all of your vids! Keep up the youtube work, you're a big help!

  • Wow man, that thing is fucking wicked. Holy shit man, you're soooo the geek. I freaking love it though man. One day when I'm making the bucks that is so going to be mine. You did really good on the wood work too.

Man that's pretty inspiring too. That's one good looking DJ. :P

  • doesnt that make it hard to reach the turntables?

  • Yeah but I have space issues at home so I tried to consolidate. We'll see how long I can stand it. HA!

  • Sweet setup!! What do you plan on using the 3rd table for? Just scratching or what? What types of things can you do with a 3rd table...i've always wondered!

  • Hey babes, thanks for the props ;) Well you can have 2 songs in a mash-up and scratch on the 3rd. Or, you can phase on 2 turntables and bring in your next song on the 3rd. Do I need it? Nah, but I own it so I put it in the new set-up. We'll see how much I use it.

  • really cool videos man. i wanted to link up my turntables to the pc too! can you tell me how? drop by my videosite while ur at it, ok? :D

  • You know, I did a video on that a couple weeks ago. The video is about my old desk. Let me try to find it so I can send it to you.

  • Really cool video Brian. I think that is the type of setup you take a picture of, to post on the internet for bragging rights. Nice quality as always

  • Welcome Back! "Carter" ;-D

  • first off, that is a nice desk!! about serato how's that working for you so far? i'm thinking about getting it soon, does it have many sound effects or not? because i'm also thinking on getting a pionner efx, i think that's how its called, anyway i liked your scratching, lol!!

  • Yipee! Another SSL user here on youtube makes me happy. I hope you like it.

  • How is SSL man anyway.. Youl iking it alot? It can help you beatmatch more easier but If you ifnd yourself looking at the waveforms try not to man because I used to do that with the program im running and for me personally it runis the fun

  • i guess it would sort of be like training wheels, so u wanna stop doing it as soon as u can

  • Welcome bak Brian ! .. congrats.. u finally got Serato.. its a gr8 toy.. enjoy it..

    dj pio

  • Nice desk, I thought DJ/Carpenter Tutor Johnathan would have made that wood work :)

By the way, are all three turntables connected to SSL or only the two on the right?

  • Just the last 2 are connected. SSL only supports 2 decks

  • Cool table. And that new toy it will ease things a lot I guess. Nice to see you're back.

  • Whoop whoop Brian got SSL. What you think of it mate? Nice desk man.. very clean setup :)

  • What was the first toon Bri?? johnathan

  • That would be the Michael Gray mix of "Be My Friend" by Scape w/ D'Empress. Cool stuff, eh? That's a little Ministry Of Sound Annual for ya (2006).

  • shit i must have that then on mp3 on a cd !!! cooool!

  • It's on disc 2 of "The Annual 2006" that came out in late 2005 (UK Edition of course). The UK MOS Annuals are something I look forward to every year.

  • Nice work!!! Bri, keep it up!! johnathan

  • u need a special stylus for those vinyls, right?

  • nah, it's just normal needles and stylus. There really isn't anything special you need besides the Scratch Live box

  • No no, u dont .. they're just normal vinyls with timecoded grooves on them

  • how are they timecoded? is it like a specific pattern so that serato knows where the needle is from the sound the vinyl makes or what?

i've heard the term "timecoded" so often now, but what exactly does that mean?

  • "is it like a specific pattern so that serato knows where the needle is from the sound the vinyl makes or what?"

    Yep.
