I think this can relate, maybe, to her bipolar disorder. She never says it directly, but come on, what does "I wanna crash, I wanna fall" mean? Plus, she said she was referring to when she was in a car with this boy, and she didn't know why, but she wanted to crash (risk death) just for the thrill of it. And in the bipolar disorder there are moments when you feel extremely happy and powerful and moments when you're depressed and you just wanna die. Maybe "in the middle", means to feel normal :)
