you say "again" too much. is it really necessary to draw attention to the fact you're repeating yourself? the top is supposed to be thin. lots of spruce tops are the same thickness, but the woods do not resonate the same way. Nato means shit in ukuanese. Why wear a sun hat indoors? It's kinda creepy. If you're bald, be proud. Uke strings are basically plastic on metal. They're supposed to slip. Take off your hat, feed your cats, and smile. Love mom

@rivaanbechan Don't worry about the tuning of the ukulele.

When you first get to purchase one, they get out of tune quite fast, but once you play if for a good while, about one month or two, the sound doesn't get out of tune anymore.

@GirlWithTheUke They are the same thing, they used to only have the "standard" size ukulele way back when, but now that they have the tenor, concert, baritone size people are beginning to call it soprano instead of standard. Hope this helps!

@OmgItsKaren yeah, the strings are supposed to be made of nylon. a lot of people think it's weird because most other string instruments (guitars, violins, mandolins, etc.) use steel strings, but nylon strings are the standard for ukes. :)

this ukulele is playable,sounds good and the strings are made from gutnylon so they are actually better then nylon strings.Also this ukulele is very lightweight so you can take it anywhere with you.I like it.

Now I have some questions, I saw on some sites that sell the LU-21 it looks like it has plastic strings, Does it?

Also does it feel "cheap" when you hold it or does it feel very quality?

I have one, the strings are made of something called 'nylgut' which mimics real gut strings as close as you can get.

it doesnt feel cheap at all, though it is very light if you're used to a guitar!

he's right though, it does seem to go out of tune quite quickly...though a guitar will do this too when it's got brand new strings on it.

The Lanikai LU21 great beginner uke. Compared to the lower priced ukes this one at least has a good set up.Stretching out the strings it stays in tune a little better.By tightening the geared tuners you can eliminate that problem.

Playing chords on this uke is right on. Intonation is good all the way BUT tonality for individual frets BAD!

Size,sound,looks good. OVERALL ok to good not great!

I recommend this for beginners and for people wanting one to take around!
