I've always thought this song would make an amazing soundtrack to an anti war video. Start off with soldiers saying goodbye at train stations etc, and as it builds up the battles begin. The quiet bits show the devestation and heartbreak of war and then the tune kicks off again and so does the same sickening repitition of the same old problems restarting. It has such a military kind of beat it would be perfect. Not just footage from ww1 and ww2 but wars before and after and from all sides.

Certainly the song title stems from bassist Dominic Aitchison's fear of Satan due to his Catholic upbringing, but Mogwai is not a religious band out to deliver a message of redemption and we don't need your preachy interpretations to a beautiful secular song. That's why I added a fourth thumbs down to your comment. Just let it go.

IF you don't liek the stoenr music, then get out and find GOOD MUSIC< stuff that will be around in say 400 years... Look up "canon in D' (original version). HYMN by vangellis, Ray lynch, earnest gold, Phantom of the opora.... THAT IS NOT STONER music.... I tried to liten to 'thi stuff' this modern instrumental rock just sucks!
