This was really an unsung movie when it debuted, getting very little marketing, even with Scorsese as director. I can understand, given there were no top tier actors, but what an amazing story and script. Some people have suggested that the movie would've been even better with De Niro as Paul Hackett, but that'd be a disaster. De Niro, as phenomenal as he is, wouldn't have been right for the part
nobody ever comments of the fact that in the end, when he goes back to work, he sits down and starts working, the camera then flies around the room, but when the camera returns to him...he's gone! so...he actually quits his job and leaves work in the end (I think)
@bobshark123 he does. At the end he sits down, his computer says 'good morning', the camera starts moving around the other side of his desk and around the office, the camera then goes behind a kind of wall so you can't see Paul, back around the other side of the wall, past a guy hoovering, then eventually back up to Paul's desk (his dirty jacket is still on the chair) and he's gone! I love that t he leaves work. You should watch the film properly
Thanks for posting these videos. I fell in love with this movie when it came out (I was 16) and it's still one of my favorites. Does anybody know where I can get a recording of Howard Shore's score? They never released it.
