Major risk is involved yes, but the same goes for crossing the street. These guys burn to want to become better riders. This is why they do it. This is why you will never see the end of the backflip, or even the same kind of backflip for that matter. It will continue to evolve.

Are they ever going to make a safety net mechanism. It would always be on the ground and over the whole terrain or certain parts where they land, and it would be on pulleys or winches. As soon as a crash seems likely the net is pulled up quickly and the rider is saved by the net or reduces injuries significantly. I don't think this would have any effect on the show also.
