  • You fucking Spanner.

  • dude yer pretty good

  • i'm trying to traduce the lyrics but i don't know what lenguage it is! is it russian? mongolian or what? i'm mexican, but i just found this song and i fell in love whit it! i just love folk music, even if it's not from mexican floklore

  • I agree with an earlier commenter. A guy that can do that melody and voice is pretty weirdly sexy.

  • awesome cover ! i like that.

  • how can i use the second pair or vocal strings

  • haha very nice!

  • U get it, man

  • if only I could put this on my mp3 player somehow

  • is it weird that this turned me on?

  • Hey, why do you think I throat sing every day? ;-)

  • ? The first two days? That's awfully fast learning.

I learned kargyraa in a day, and got it good and steady the next day, then worked on sygyt and got some overtones going by the day after, so it took me 4 days to get the mechanics of the thing down. I thought I was doing pretty good till now! Good job.

  • heh, this was cool.

  • nice thing. Thanks for sharing.

  • How long did you have to practice before you got it right. I so want to try this but scared I would never get it right!

  • Very nice dude, love it! Could you try get better audio recording next time? Still excellent!!!

  • Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.

Heheh! Don't worry. Next time it'll be in HD! :-D

  • v. good :D

  • Ekii! Bravissimo!

  • wow what a nice work. Thanks for that clip

  • DAMN, excellent work sir.

  • Dude that's awesome, it coulnt' have been easy to learn to do that.

  • Thanks!

Actually, it was surprisingly easy. Easier than I had originally thought. There was only just a day or two of pain. (from the throat doing things it wasn't used to doing)

  • Does basic khoomei/kargyraa still hurt you? Because two days is REALLY long!

  • Oh no. That was the just first two days when I started learning how to throat sing. Now, it's completely painless and actually feels better than regular singing ('cause kargyraa kinda massages the throat, at least it feels that way)

  • Impressive. I would love to learn this.

  • You are playing good...I know many versions of the song and this one is great minimalistic and accurate.

  • (copy-pasted from comments on video "Alash - Kongurey) Aldan chetken chylgymnyng Alazy kaÿdal, Konggureÿ? Aldy kozhuun chonumnyng Aaly kaÿdal, Konggureÿ? Konggureÿ? • Where are the seventy horses in my herd? Where is the tether for my horse, Konggureÿ? Where are the seven provinces of my homeland? Where is my people, Kongurey? Repeat first verse Aldyn-ydyk Tangdymny Aramaÿlap, dagydym. Aldy kozhuun chonumnu Algap ÿöreep, maktadym, maktadym, maktadym. The Aldyn-ydyk Tangdy mountains Are the greatest of them all Where are the six regions of my country? I praise, praise, praise the people of them.
  • I got the Huun-Huur Tu Cd and I must say, your version is cooler! Theirs is more upbeat and sung a lot faster. Yeeeehhh...

  • I don't agree. Any tuvan man would sing it much better. But any way for europe man this guy has rather high skill of throat singing.

  • I am referring to his interpretation of it. you have the cd? How do you rate Huun-Huur Tu's version of it? As I mentioned, Huun-Huur Tu sings it very fast. Kinda like the two guys in 'throat singing siberians'.

This one evokes thoughts of a serene sunset out in the middle of nowhere, just the singer and nature. Very relaxing. The words seem different too but it doesn't matter. I can't tell either way. :)

  • Ok, I just got another cd with a different version of Kongurei that sounds more like this man. It is sung by the group "Shau-de" Voices from Tuva--Kongurei Cd. They use the igil instead of the accordion and its really good. I got this cd on Amazon for those interested. in sampling their music.

  • There are a lot of versions of this song. I meant that the quality of throat singing of tuvan singers are much higher than this guy performs.

  • How do you mean? I guess a pro would play the accordion a lot better but he says he just borrowed it so give him credit for trying. Besides the other songs on cd are different from each other. Its not just 2 different groups singing exactly the same thing. The words are different.

  • Do you have lyrics?? Great song!

  • pretty melody, and impressive vocal form.

  • Very nice sygyt!

  • Where can I find the lyrics for Kongurei or other Tuvan songs?

  • It makes my flesh creep!!!

    Very melancholical.

  • very very impressed, hope to hear more.

  • Great, I've seen Huun Huur Tu doing this song in London and this one gives me the creeps just like they did...in a good way of course!

    I love it

  • Great!

  • That was so gorgeous! I only wish it didnt cut off early. Great job.

  • Good job mate!

  • You guys rule. Thanks for sharing these musical clips.

  • i approve fully.

  • I had to cry the moment I heard this song. It is so pure and beautifull. Thank you very much for posting. I can't stop listening to it. Do you have a longer version?

  • So expressive! Great sound!

  • Kickin brother

  • Watched Genghis Blues yesterday, and I instantly thought of this. Awesome, man. Do you do anything especially, like khoomei or syggt or kargyraa?

  • Great!

  • BRAVO!!!!!!

  • Kongurei is one of the most beautiful songs done by a lot of tuvan artists. Your doing a great job here mate! Thanks for this video. The accordeon gives a nice touch to it.

  • wow! Great tone in your singing!!! This is such a nice song.

  • where did you learn the song?

  • I first heard Kongar-Ol Ondar sing it on Genghis Blues. Then I heard Huun Huur Tu play it on "60 Horses In My Herd. Finally (the best version I think) I heard Chirgilchin do it on "The Wolf and the Kid" album.

  • Very nice.

  • excellent! i was just watching "genghis blues" again yesterday, and this sounds dead-on.

  • man good stuff I'm no where near that good yet at the throat singing any pointers you can give me?

  • What thing? The accordion?

As far as the linguistic groups. I have no idea.

  • What's that thing called in English? (Trying to think of it in my own language) Mongolian is an of shot of the Altaic linguistic group right or is it something totally different?

  • it's a tuvan language. Trust me Iknow it :) Altaic branch of turkic languages

  • Amazing!
