I have to say, the echo on Lucario's voice killed it. If he ever comes back, kill the echo, please.

how did it kill it? lucario's original voice actually does have a reverb to it, unlike here ina brawl.

The echo actually made certain lines inaudible. If the echo is going to be kept, at least make it more tolerable.

this is quite true actually. And as we go w/ these episodes we'll catch on more and more w/ any audio problems. right off the back we heard alot of parts where the music tended to overpower some lines as well. thank u for ur input bud =]

Not sure what program is used to mix the music and the VAing, but I'll give a heads up that Audacity is crap with volume leveling. No matter what you do or try, it won't work. I recommend Wavepad, another free program, where "amplifying" the sound actually has an effect. It's a little tedious going back and forth with Audacity and Wavepad, but there're fewer complaints with volume leveling this way.

i havent played w/ the program in such a long arse time, but if ud like to experiment w/ it (if u havent already), try out SoundForge. i used it once to mix music and play w/ sound tracks. i learned all my basics w/ it and it was a fantastic program then, i wouldnt doubt it being crazy good now =]

Wonderful stuff here. The fight between Lucario and DarkLink was pretty fun actually. even tho i voiced Dark Link, i actually controlled Lucario in the fight. Super Flight is the best thing ever =]

XD Heheheh... Not at all. There might've been one or two flat reads and you could've worked on mic technique some, but overall I believe you did a good job.

lol drove me nuts every time i messed up on being too close to the mic. I would have worked more on fixing lines but we were too antsy to get everything done on time.

I can go into detail with getting a puff blocker or something like that, but I'll give a generic solution that should work just as well. Go to the Control Panel and increase the gain/sensitivity of the mic. That way, you won't have to be as close, puffs won't detract from your performance, and the most you have to do is project your voice.

nonono, u r more than welcome to offer any sort of help ud like. Id actually prefer it since u actually have experience in alot of this. Itll do nothing but help us in the long run. a puff blocker is somethin we're rly gonna have to look into. and to b honest... we used a Digital Blue camera's built-in mic... its pathetic i kno hehe

@@; As WeTWiLLy said, the puff blocker is an option because it mostly nulls the puffs from 'plosives (b's and p's). If you MUST invest in something, a mic meant to be a mic is a bigger must than a puff blocker. Take it from someone who used to record using a camera. It seems machinimas aren't as grr with sound as flashes are, but just a heads up. Try upping the sensitivity first.

The best Audacity can do is reduce background noise (but the quality is dependent on the mic). If the puffs are mid-word/sentence, you're out of luck since even Adobe Audition, which is better than Audacity, can't fix that without a sound engineer at the helm... If at all.

What you can do is try to be in a completely sound proof room with a sock over the mic so the VA's breath doesn't get recorded. If there are still problems, its the mic
