  • SUPERNATURAL, love Crowley.

  • Ugh I love this song!

Jessica simpson's crap shouldn't even been considered a remake to this

  • I always think of Barbarella when I hear this...

  • I think it's amazing that the FBI played this song on loop at Waco to get the branch davidians to come out.

  • [ insert generic Full Metal Jacket quote here ]

  • .... nohing can be said here.

  • I still love this song:D

  • More proof that the best music is from before my time. These days, most music really sucks. I was born in '94, but the best music was in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. I was born far to late to enjoy such great classics.

  • fullllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll metallllllllllllllllllllllllllll jackettttttttttttttttttttttt loveeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Oh man I loved Nancy she was so gorgeous back then....

  • Medusa & Pregnant (MAP)

  • This was a pretty brave song for the sixties, there was a hell of a lot of sexism still around then. Go girl!

  • The first time I heard this version was the first time I liked this song. I have heard j simpsons version what a piece o junk. Blondies wasnt bad but not for me. I heard this when Crowley on Supernatural was playing it and knew I had to have it. I enjoy Nancy. Ive got a few of her songs. I had no Idea she sang this though. Im so glad I found that out. BTW Goodnight Moon is my fav of hers. Heard it first on Natural Born Killers. Fav movie also

  • This song always reminds me of that movie Now and Then. •.•

  • and to think her dad frank sinatra saids she has no tallent.. hes not realy the one to talk

  • @vietnamguy1223 - One shudders to think what Ol' Blue Eyes would've thought of Jessica Simpson's mangling of this tune.

  • Me love you long time XD

  • Damn this is a pretty heavy song for '66!

  • @getback9691 A few more octaves down and an electric guitar - you got the roots of heavy metal!

  • megadeths version rules!!!!!!

  • @NickHill668 No, Nancy is better

  • the best song, ever.♥

  • analog was always better; it wasn't put through a computer, which gives it a slightly pixelated sound.

  • Favy o

  • Hey, baby. You got girlfriend Vietnam?

Well, baby, me so horny. Me so HORNY. Me love you long time. You party?

    Fifteen dollar

  • @Chloe299XxX I second that notion :)

  • Nancy Was So Frigging Hot!!

    OH YEAAAAAA

  • this song sucks, jessica simpson 's version is way better.

  • @KittyKatlyn1 jessica simpsons version is a porn version of a good song with shitty music so dont say its better when it makes some noises that literally makes me feel bad

  • @KittyKatlyn1 did you fell and hit your head against a brick or what?????, no doubt Jessica is gorgeous but not even in her best dream she can sing better than Nancy Sinatra, no way !!!!!!!!

  • @KittyKatlyn1 Jessica Simpson's version is an over-produced piece of crap. You wouldn't know a good song if it came up and bit you on the ass.

  • Everytime I hear this song it reminds me of Full Metal Jacket.

  • @zackromack Me too

  • Fifteen dollar too boo-coo! Five dollars each!

  • I do not EVER want to listen to a single album or even song unless it is recorded exactly this way. Debate it ALL YOU LIKE but the ONLY truth is that THISSSSS is how music was MEANT TO SOUND. The End.

  • I wonder if Frank was disappointed with her.

Goddammit, Rock and Roll has even affected my own daughter. Now she'll turn into a slut

  • it sounds dope retro status im playin this right now at a desert party thanks

  • Thumbs up if you had already heard and known this song as well as a lot of other 60s music before you saw Full metal Jacket like me....Although, I still loved Full Metal Jacket. Best and most realistic war film right under Platoon.

  • Onemikehart tells me that it was Duane Eddy who first thought of that descending intro.

  • she hot

  • Along with the great players on this, Nancy sounds as cool as the other side of the pillow.

Jessica Simpson's version is absolutely insipid. The music stinks and all she does is whisper in place of actual singing. It's forgotten already besides with a few young nitwits with no knowledge of real music anyhow.

  • Listen to Megadeth's version and read there version of the lyrics

  • Jessica Simpson will be totally forgotten in 5 years, Nancy will live forever

  • @quadleaf95, and everyone else who has mentioned her name, if you think it's bad that Jessica Simpson covered it (Which I agree with you by the way), check out Megadeth's cover. Thats even worse.

  • Found the vinyl album with this song today for a buck! I still can't believe it haha

  • super song !!!! worlds music ! format oldies.....

and czech version.... hi everybody :) with my bass cover :) ....

    Peter

  • FULL METAL JACKET

  • @Boeltner1994

I am watching this movie right now.

    And also heard this song.

  • @Montreal86 Austin Powers

    YEAH BABY

  • @Boeltner1994 Austin Powers

    YEAH BABY

  • Wow...This really does sound like it's from a Strong AM Radio Station!

The compressed AM transmission Does suit this song Very Nicely!

It takes the sharp distorted edges off of Nancy's vocal audio.

But it does lose the 'Distinction' of the bassline a little by compressing and lifting it to the same level as the other audio...All down to personal choice though!

It's by far the Best version I've heard on Youtube...At the Moment...haha!!!

Great Upload!! Thanks For Sharing!! :)

  • Who plays the descending bass line on acoustic. The electric bass is Carol Kaye.

  • @Bluesdirections Chuck Berghofer. Arranged by Billy Strange.

  • @GeoSilverMore Thanks man. There was Chuck Domanico and I just wanted to be sure. I wonder if Chuck Berghofer is aware that his descending line is still heard by many round the world.

  • @GeoSilverMore I have been looking for the isolated bassline for this song....you wouldn't happen to know if it exists anywhere would you? Thanks :~) This sounds amazing, by the way!

  • Comment removed

  • @onemikehart What do you mean? The writers/arranger called the bass player before the session and told him what they had in mind. What do you mean he didn't do it in the studio. Remember you are hearing a glorious processed AM radio sound here. The players talked about the session years later. You think Chuck recorded it separately? So maybe.

  • @Bluesdirections Randy Jackson.

  • Only Nancy Sinatra can make that song sexy! Jessica Simpson's hack version is as sexy as a horny alley cat yowling late at night.

  • Full Metal Jacket

  • It's difficult to say exactly what might be different, when a recording has been through several stages of processing and compression. No offense to YouTube, but it's not the best place to judge audio quality.

Having just listened to an original 1965 vinyl stereo version on another channel, I can honestly say the only difference I hear is that yours is mono. Special mono mixes were often done for AM radio, rather than simply folding down the stereo version.

  • @JeffreyTodd1 Which vinyl stereo upload is that?

And did you say something significant about special mixes being made just for radio, different from mono vinyl?

  • @GSMovieMoments It's @JeffN727 's upload here: watch?v=U16DjE2jRj4 I'm no expert on the subject. That was just my guess as to why there might be a difference. But I think the mono versions would have been available to the public too, not just radio stations. Again, just guessing.

  • 2 people are looking for the shitty Jessica Simpson remake.

  • i love the intro sooo much!

  • ALWAYS LOVED THE RADIO VERSIONS!!!!! Take Me To When I Was A Lad, lol, Love It.

  • my mom says nancy cant sing but somehow i actully likes her voice

  • @kallemick really? I think her voice is awesome too!

  • Jessica Simpson isn't fit to lick Sinatra's boots.

  • 2 people didn't like this song? crazy

  • Full Metal Jacket!

  • @therichman

5 dollars is all my mom allows me to spend haha

  • Haha I had no idea there was so sharp lyrics in the 60s or wherever this is from and it fits so perfectly with Operation Ivy, search for Operation Ivy One of these days! it sounds so cool!

  • cool

  • One way to get back the warmth from digital audio is to copy it onto reel to reel tape. The recorder I have is built into a JVC console stereo circa 1970 with Germanium transistors and transformer coupling. Those and the "head bump" in the bass range give a gutsy sound without the sharp edge and thin bass of digital recordings.

  • They could have used Haeco-CSG processing, as it's around that era. Def. a bit of compression also. Maybe some sort of Dolby NR?

  • @monomerx001 Could that be like the Sound Retrieval System used for expanded stereo on analog TVs. It brings everything to maximum.

Of course there was auto recording level compression with my radio recorder, but so does AM radio. Anyway this is all for the better of the sound, I say.

  • Great song now the next time wen I put on my boots. I will thingk of this song!!!!!!!!!

    I love it!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Full Metal Jacket :)

  • Fuck Jessica Simpson! This is the real deal!

  • @EternallyGodBless You're so damn right! I heard Jessica's version a few seconds ago and that s*****.

    Nancy's the best!!!!!!!!!!

  • @EternallyGodBless yeah fuck her

  • Comment removed

  • Yes it's from a radio tape - type 2. The radio had a pretty good frequency range. The recorder had auto level control too. Then I converted to 8-bit wave digital, then Youtube converted to aac.

  • nice :D great job! but i guess 8-bit is too low, try with the double, 16 bit, if you can do again. You ll hav some difference!

  • I always prefer Analogue recording than digital, digital recording will have brighter and clearer sound and a wider range, but then it lost the deepness, richness, & the original taste, particulaly with thinner bass sound. I've tried to convert some analogue recordings in audacity to do upload, it was bad & there is not much differnece whether you choose 16bits or 32bits, may be audacity is not a good media for digital mastering..

  • ohh yeh man, Audacity isnt the best for thais kind of audio, and there is a big difference 8bit to 16bit, not 16bits to 32bits. But you did a awesome job. A hav some other softwares, if may i, you can send me the audio and i'll try to remaster. thanks for your time, Nancy fan (:

  • Nancy is fantastic¡¡¡

  • sounds like the sound mix on 2nights strictly come danceing from blackpool ... shit!

  • Radio version is just what I prefer most, I love 45rpm as it sound close to what I heard from the radio !!

  • Nice one..........her leather till is good
