  • Is it just me or are all the games laggy?

  • the client won't even login for me. am i the only one having this problem?

  • hmm...and whats so special about this copy cat of Steam?...nothing...

  • If I sign up for a trial can I download pc games? I got into the gamefly beta but I dont want to sign up for a membership if you have to buy the games.. I already have steam

  • Beta codes if anyone gives a fuck...

    LG6J9PFJ6RT7GPP7

    9RM6WTCJ9X9XC2XX

  • If they made you be able to rent as many games as possible I'd do it, but just to buy games? lol no fuck you

  • Jesus, This is a stupid idea on their behalf. I only see this as a good idea if:

    1) Existing Gamefly Members download for free.

    2) It isn't trying to ride the coattails of Steam and Desura like a fucking money-hungry whore.

You were good as a game-shipping company, just stay as that. Your retarded PR team shouldn't make the decisions based on whats 'awesome'. You will always be outtrumped by Steam, Deal with it, Gamefly.

  • Isn't this basically just steam? I mean you still have to pay full price. I don't see the point in this.

  • I WANT A PC THAT CAN DOWNLOAD THAT FAST!!!!!

  • I see that in order to download you still have to pay full price for the game. So how is this any different than any other game download service. Why should gamefly customers care when their subscription doesn't include the cost?

  • I'm confused, how do you download games for consoles on your PC?

  • @RevoltOfAges you dont you can rent or buy for your console or download for pc

  • i dont understand how this works. iam a 2 game a month subscriber to gamefly. would this client let me download and play all the pc games i want for free under my current subscribtion??

  • @SolarGamer No it looks like you have to buy the game for full price. It's just steam with gamefly's name on it.

  • Is this how they let you rent "PC games" ??

  • oh and i beleive there is already a much beter version of this that comes installed on gaming computers called steam

  • wait so do you have to buy the games or if you have a gf account can you just download them and play them?

  • download brotherhood and play ACII? i think i'll pass on this beta then.

  • I'm in the Beta, I'll try to clear a few things up.

As of right now you can't download EVERYTHING. Of course you can't download and play PS3, Wii, or X360 games.

But as for PC and Mac games, there are a few really good instantly downloadable ones right now, such as Saints Row 2, Assassin's Creed 1, Velvet Assassin, or Prince of Persia. There are a lot of other downloadable games but they're shitty indie stuff. I'm assuming there will be MANY more games made availabe once its out of beta.

  • SO, if i do get this for playing pc games, after i download the game, can i just get a no-cd patch or a Gamefly backup player to just own the rented games

  • i think gamefly themselves are confused about what they're doing. unless they're trying to fight off onlive by providing a game streaming service, how are we able to play console games on pcs/macs?

  • @igrenade Yaaaaay, emulators.

  • @justchaos96

PCSX2 requires a decent quad core, and that's a decade old console. what makes you think sony/ms would allow gamefly to acquire emulators for their very-much-alive consoles?

  • @igrenade I didn't say it was likely, but you asked how it is possible. So I gave you a reason.

  • @justchaos96 an illogical reason**

  • 1:05

    Black Ops: lol

    Homefront: lol

Dead Space 2: Only one I'd play

    Dragon Age 2: Shite

  • Just FYI - The Song in the video is The Drowning Men - Get a Heart.

  • @FrizGP It says it at the end...

  • I'm assuming it means you would be able to link your Xbox Live Gamertag to your gamefly account, so it could download to your Xbox 360 upon renting it from the gamefly client on your computer. Like how you can buy things on Xbox Live site from the marketplace and then download it on your Xbox 360 upon choosing it there. This could also apply to the Playstation 3 or Wii, I suppose. How does this make no sense?

  • @Deadboy99 well its just that... its not Microsoft and only Microsoft can do that, they cant just do what ever they want to your console its protected against as if they wouldn't sue when it expires what happens then? you get to keep the game they cant simply go into you xbox and delete it themselves thats called hacking and thats what this would fall under if it was setup like that and so far iv not seen anything to do with this junk on xbox i dout microsoft would even no these ppl exist

  • This makes NO sense. Here are the words Gamefly uses to describe their service: "Gamefly gives you a revolutionary new way to access the video games you want. All titles, all platforms, all access, available instantly on your PC or Mac."

This makes it sound like you can play ANY game, no matter what platform, on your PC or MAC. That is not the case. Is Gamefly trying to go all netflix and screw their customers over, or what? Try making a video that MAKES SENSE, Gamefly!

  • Will i still be able to use my PS3 browser, to navigate the site and pick my games? if not Gamefly will be losing alot of customers i got four friends who use the ps3 browser myself included, because we dont have a Computer or are to old (Err) stupid too use one.

  • I saw gears of war 3 in there download store ,can you download and play it on pc?

Just wondering since i don't have a beta code.

  • @funny9guy no thats if you want to put it in your Que and they will send it to you

  • @funny9guy No... its an Xbox exclusive... derrp

  • I should probably read the terms of use and find out if I'm allowed to post a video of it, let alone say anything about it.

  • I've got the beta for this now, and the only decent game available at the moment is Saints Row 2. Like e0steven said, you can manage your Game Q from the launcher, that is it. They've got a section with free game available on your PC if you're a member, and it's got Assassin's Creed, Saints Row, and a bunch of third party games that I haven't looked over yet. It's fantastic for what it is, because you get this plus the two games. There's just not much of a selection yet.

  • it just said Gamefly members play as much as they want. The Buy thing for AC:B was probably for a non-member.

  • Welcome to Stea.....uhh i mean Gamefly Digital

  • Ok bottom line is this; it competes with Steam. You have to pay for PC games and they have a limited amount of 'free' PC games that are included as part of your GameFly membership. So far as I can tell it is NOT like OnLive and you cannot play non-PC games on your PC. You can manage your existing game-Q and you can do most of the same functionality as the website.

  • Can someone please help me. I got the email to confirm my email, but i still haven't got the code. Can someone please help or should i wait?

  • From what I've read it's not going to be like onlive where you can stream the games via internet. Like Kriss Kross would say "it's a shame, it's a shame alright."

  • can i has beta code

  • nm i got a code im in the beta

  • Can you play exclusives with this?

  • So it's just steam then?

  • it says gamefly members play as many games as they want

  • if u got a beta code please message me

  • You guys are so dumb, OnLive's game library is absolutely terrible, and since when is streaming games better than downloading games? Last time I checked, I'd rather be playing my PC games at 1080p, not 480i. This is for gamers who've got great gaming rigs, not just great internet connections. Also, you can play ANY game on your PC now. Not just PC games, but PS3 games, and Xbox games as well. The whole, "All Titles, All Platforms, Available Instantly On Your PC or Mac" speaks for itself.

  • @Conkerkid11 Onlive is 720p not 480i, learn to do some research. And you wont be able to play ANY game on your PC, for various reasons. One, console exclusives. Dont count on Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo to allow this to happen, they'll sue Gamefly to the ground if they try. The only games you'll see from this will be games already available on PC, its just a Steam competitor. And its not instant if its not streamed like Onlive, this is just a rebranding of Direct2Drive that they bought out.

  • If it is not instant one button press gaming... it won't FLY. Onlive has this beat hands down.

  • Gamefly and Gamestop trying to copy the Onlive swag lmao.

  • Yeah...Onlive has this shit beat.

  • I'm SO confused. Does it mean you play console games on PC? That doesn't seem possible or at all legal.

  • @eedobaba7726 obviously its only for PC games, if you noticed, there is currently no PC section on gamefly

  • am i the only one who noticed the assassins creed brotherhood gameplay was assassins creed 2 gameplay?

  • So we can now download ALL games from any console platforms onto our PC's and play them!?..Kinda like Netflix's streaming!?

  • Comment removed

  • @sw204me shut hell up dud u an ever one here useing gamefly to rent game is it so bad they want to try new things out to help ppl that useing gamefly even more now if u dont like it dont fucking use it

  • @Voidmage09 Wow, the public education system failed you hard core. I almost feel bad for you're uneducated dumbass.

  • @sw204me It's a "streaming" download. So you don't have to wait until the end of the download to play.

  • @sw204me Because you pay Gamefly's standard subscription fee ($15.95 p.m. no extra charge for this new service) and play ALL the games you want for ANY platform as long as you are subscribed. Similar to Netflix, Spotify, Rhapsody, etc. Steam only lets you buy PC games and at the game's normal price (not counting their discounts).

$15.95 for unlimited games > $15-$60 for EACH game

  • @martialfarts31692 So they allow you to download games to your Xbox? I have GameFly, so I'm trying to figure out how this all works, and this video doesn't explain shit.

  • @sw204me They didn't really explain it much in the trailer. But if I had to guess, I would think they would come out with an App for the Xbox/PS3 (similar to the Netflix App now) So that say if you download a 360 game on your PC, as long as you are in the same wi-fi network, you just start up the app on the 360 and select the game you just downloaded. That would make more sense that playing 360, PS3, and PC games all on the PC.

  • @martialfarts31692 yea, that would be awesome, no waiting for games, that would be insanely sick, but that sounds way too good to be true yea know? They need to explain this shit better.

  • @martialfarts31692,

What about those who have a Wii? GF should add an app on the system so users can play Wii and GC games without wasting money at blockbuster or family video.

  • @sw204me After a game has been out for more then 18 months it will be free for download, but ofc gamefly has to get permission to this specifically per developer, so far ubisoft and thq agreed with it.

  • @sw204me Because steam isnt on xbox dumb ass

  • @Gorgonsmasher Oh that's cool, so instead of paying for it on Steam, I'm paying for it on the Xbox, which that is different than the Xbox marketplace how?

  • @sw204me Idk know I have to wait for it to come out. You cynical Bastard

  • @Gorgonsmasher How am I a cynical bastard? I just want to know how this is going to work.

  • @sw204me you dont. it says gamefly members play as many games as they want.

  • @sw204me because after the time runs out, the game wont work. durr

  • @sw204me if you pay the 15 dollars a month you can rent a game and download as many pc games as you want no extra charge

  • It states "all platforms available instantly on your PC or Mac" assuming you can play PS3, 360 and Wii games on your PC?

  • @useevengowanttodo it said all platforms, that's why I asked, I didn't know if they were going to pull a netflix and just download the game onto your console. If you didn't have anything productive to say, then keep it to yourself.

  • How are you suppose to play the games that you downloaded on your PC onto your PS3 or 360? I've got gamefly so I was just wondering.

  • @gimmieurBRAIN you dont, this is for pc games

  • @trabujar Mk thanks, just saw on there that is said all platforms...would be cool if they did what netflix do, just put an app on the consoles where you can directly play the games off of the console dashboard.

  • @trabujar If you were paying attention, it said all consoles.

  • Wait, this is just Direct2Drive!

  • @tegolin didnt you know they joined forces

  • Better be able to rent them as well. I don't see the point in paying a fee and full price for games I could easily get from retail for less money.

  • @Conkerkid11 members get the games free

  • whats this song

  • Word!?

  • Why aren't they creating a rental service for the PC? Just limit games to 7 days of activation, one (or more, depending on your plan) game active at a time, and 30 days of delay in between rentals of the same game. I'm guessing there's even a way to encrypt the game files so they can't be cracked.

  • @cattac61 steam is kinda a bitch like that i got on a friends account got Deus Ex but since it was not purchased on my account it does not quite work it is possible its just no one is smart enough to try they would only be gaining money and the people who would crack their game probably torrent anyway im against torrenting so i do not do so

  • @cattac61 make it 7 day delay and that is the perfect PC rental service. Id rather not wait 30 days if Im at a juicy part of a game and cant afford to buy it.

  • Steam all the way..

  • Glad to see this is going to be supported on Mac as well as PC. Wondering how it will all work though.

  • Ok, for everyone's assurance, this is going to be specifically for PC downloading, the confusing part is if this will be hosting PS3/Xbox360 games on PC. Maybe, it's probably going to either be bewteen, putting the game on a blank CD which would be absolutely stupid, or you're playing Xbox/PS3 versions on your computer given you have the controller hooked up. Maybe I hit it on the noggin, and if so that would be awesome. Hate it when games are exclusively for console, not that I don't have one.

  • To anyone looking to start a free trial of gamefly:

listen, gamefly has this feature where if you give a friend a link to start a free trial, that person gets a month instead of ten days like they would normally, and you get a free month added to your existing trial. Well, my trial ends in four days. Help me out and omg I will be grateful forever!! so if you're trying gamefly please use this link!!!!: gamefly. tellapal. com /a /clk /10CBFJ <<t(the spaces are so my comment doenst get deleted.)

  • Will they have demos to the games when GF streaming goes live? If it's not going to be a cloud computing service then I'm stickin' wit onlive.

  • @AceDT311 it's not a cloud service it's a download and play service just like getting a game from a store

  • @nnnjc1,

Where r u basing these facts off of? If it's gonna be a DL and play service you might as well stick with steam. Although it would be fly to play wii games on a PC, that ain't no lie.

  • Is this like renting games on the PC or what? Because if its just buying it, I might as well just stick with steam.

  • Q : you are adverstising digital gamefly online, does this mean I will be able to download a game straight to my console, or only play it online? by which i mean PC?

    A : Hello,

Thank you for contacting GameFly. Unfortunately you would not be able to download to your console, the game will have to be played on the PC.

If we can be of further assistance, please let us know.

    Sincerely,

    Juan B.

    The GameFly Team

  • @randy6366 thats what they emailed me when I asked them flat out.

  • here is the awaited response

  • Seems to good to be true...??? So if I am a member of Gamefly I can now download and play all the games I want? Seems like I could basically own everygame for $20/month...

  • @CombatMedicRN Actually their flat out stealing Gametaps shtick, not steams. Steam is purely buying, not renting, their "renting" Them. It's really not that hard of a system *eyes gametap*

  • Haha It's like steam but you have to pay for it every month

  • @CombatMedicRN "game fly members play as many games as they want" quote from video they are talking about renting there.

  • @nnnjc1 Why is Assassin's Creed 50$? But also, why is there a game Q?

  • Comment removed

  • @dabears17x Retail price of AC:B is $50 right now.

  • @DarkBloom1212 Exactly, so wouldn't that mean that this is buying, not renting?

  • does this mean halo reach and stuff will be for xbox?

  • @runescapeplayer4ever It would be cool if they had an xbox app where you could download and play xbox games.

  • @CombatMedicRN they are letting subscribers have access to all the games for so it is renting

  • this will be awesome renting video games on pc WOOT!

  • Oh so basically its like steam only 10 times less popular...sounds great!

  • @XxToHellAndBackxX If you ignore the whole point and concept of the whole thing, sure.

  • @ZiMZiLLA ok well Im slightly confused on this. Is it like I "rent" a PC game to download, and it acts as if its a rental game like normal(aka on my gameq, no late fees etc) and then I uninstall it when Im "done" renting it. Or are console games included to download? Or am I so off it isnt funny.

  • @gman5852 I don't understand how you can download a xbox or ps3 game to your pc...??? I really don't even know what this is...

  • @cooljj82 Technicaly 360 games have been pirated onto the PC before, but as I already said, I have no clue what all the downloadable service gamefly has will do.

Im just speculating based on how in this video itself, it shows a 360 and PS3 section. Either gamefly gets remodoled to this, or 360 and PS3 games have something to do with this, or downloaders just get a new gamefly look to use.

  • @XxToHellAndBackxX oh great another person who doesn't understand what this really is.

  • @nnnjc1 lol a download service that is going to cost gamefly too much money?

  • that was fast downloading.

  • wat if uncharted 3 works on pc too??!!!

  • if this is renting PC games then I'm totally down. I have loved gamefly for about 2 years and this is just going to make it better. I hope you wont have to pay extra.

  • Comment removed

  • if i could rent the games on the pc i would be down otherwise i will not sign up

  • Sweet cant wait for the launch im getting on this first day! Whos with me!!!!!

  • Steam rip off already? Why can't we rent download and play games instead of buying!? You are literally asking for more money!

  • so its basically steam...but with....? i dunno but where are the advantages

  • @LE0NSKA it's like steam but if you are a gamefly subscriber you download all the games for free and can play them as long as you stay a subscriber.

  • @nnnjc1 oh...well ok then... sounds great if its really true

    thanks for answering

  • @nnnjc1 really dl them all for free as long as your a gf member sweet

  • I came.

  • Metaboli clone?

  • OHOHOHOHO YEAAAAAAAH

  • can someone clarify for me, is this new system just to enable PC people to *buy* games and download them? there is no "renting" per se right?

  • @bryandPR At 0:59 in it says "Gamefly members play as many games as they want." So, I'm guessing that for a monthly fee you can download any game and play it as long as you're a member.

  • @xhaloownerx

as awesome as that sounds, it doesn't sound realistic. they would lose a bunch of money. that and at a certain point before they download revelation you can see the price tag of $50

  • @bryandPR Maybe, but they haven't announced a fee yet and the price was most likely there to show that you can buy games.

  • *if they do announce one

  • @bryandPR thats because you are allowed to buy games as well. it would suck to play a game you like and want to buy and have to re download it from someone else .

  • Awesome

We have a Steam Competitor here Already

  • lil zay like that i want to get all of that i love game fly you can get ever game

  • lilzay like that i want to get all of that i love game fly you can get ever game

  • Sure glad I'm already subscribed. :D

  • Now if only this digital renting system would be available worldwide. I mean, (disc based) console games can't obviously be sent worldwide cause of disc transport issues, but PC downloads can, so they really should consider opening this worldwide. I'd sign up day one. =D

  • @starjetneoseeker good point!

  • Comment removed

  • I got the worse pc ever i cant even play 8bit megaman in :( . BUT I GOTTA XBOX :D. oh forgot to say i <3 pussy :)

  • they should make a media service on the ps3 and xbox 360, like netflix, i would totally pay for that

  • @Hulksmash619 It would be free if you already have a membership if they were smart.

  • THANK YOU GAMEFLY! I've been waiting forever for this

  • Why don't u do this Gamefly(Not a hater on gamefly) Have actual real numbers you have in. No Availbility and if you click rent and its on your 1 spot in your game q they shipped it to you the next day. Now thats Revolutionary.

  • Isn't this the same as Steam?

  • So do u have to buy each game? or is it a rental service?

  • omg jump too 0:57 -.- Gamefly members play as many games as they want.

  • So it's bot not free? you have to pay for the games separately?

So... it's nothing new, just steam, basically? Disappointing. I thought you'd be able to rent them...

  • Wait... Does this mean I rent PC games through this?

Someone please clarify, I know Gamefly is a rental service, but nowhere does it say I'm allowed to rent games in this video.

  • @MurphyPendleton Just pc games

  • Great. I much prefer Xbox 360, and would definitely have to get a more powerful PC with a much faster video card to take advantage of this, but it might be worth it just to have games available at all times, and not having to wait for the turnaround which often takes more than a week.

  • Onlive...

  • @MrClericDisciple Like I said before, this isn't OnLIve at all? This is a subscription based to play like GameTap, nothing like OnLive since this isn't cloud based gaming.

  • @AuRevoirTune To be fair OnLive also has subscriptions, I was on it for a couple months. So it is -something- like OnLive.

  • "It's like OnLive - only worse! ;)"

Except if it works in Europe ^ ^

  • @kristaps194 It's nothing like OnLive? This isn't cloud based...?

  • @AuRevoirTune If cloud means "storage server" in this case, then yes it cloud based.

  • @philnolan3d Cloud means you stream it to play, instead of downloading, since the information is stored on their servers, you just stream it.
